Spurs have reportedly now shifted their focus from Rennes’ Desire Doue to prioritising the signing of Premier League duo Pedro Neto and Eberechi Eze.
According to TBR Football, Tottenham initially considered signing Doue, but substantial bids from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain of €55 million and €60 million, respectively, led the North London club to cool off their interest in him.
Rennes’ high asking price for the talented midfielder has redirected Spurs’ attention to Premier League duo. The report claims that the Lilywhites are now turning attention to Pedro Neto and Eberechi Eze, both of whom possess valuable Premier League experience, which could facilitate a smooth transition and immediate impact at Spurs.
Pedro Neto, currently with Wolves, is expected to be available if a significant offer is made, despite his contract running until June 2027. Last season, Neto scored three goals and provided 11 assists in 24 appearances across the Premier League and FA Cup.
Eberechi Eze, a long-standing target for Spurs, extended his contract with Crystal Palace last November, securing his stay until the summer of 2027. However, Tottenham remain undeterred by his £60 million release clause, with reports suggesting that the club are willing to spend big on him.
Eze’s exceptional performance last season, with 11 goals and four assists in 27 Premier League appearances, highlighted his quality and solidified his status as a primary target for the Lilywhites.
The club are confident in their ability to secure either Eze’s or Neto’s signature despite the competition.
As Tottenham aim to bolster their attacking options, acquiring Neto and Eze would significantly enhance their squad’s depth and capabilities for the upcoming season.
