Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to join two of their Premier League rivals in the race for a Ligue 1 starlet’s signature, with a potential bidding war now in the offing.
Spurs want to bolster their midfield options
Right from the summer, we have been hearing reports that Ange Postecoglou wants to add an energetic number eight to his squad.
Over the past few months, it has been widely reported that Lille’s Angel Gomes is one of the names on Tottenham’s wishlist (HITC).
It has now emerged that the Lilywhites also have their eye on another one of the Ligue 1’s best young midfielders, who has won several admirers with his constant displays since the start of last season.
Spurs may get involved in a bidding war for Andy Diouf
The player in question is Lens midfielder Andy Diouf, who Tottenham are thought to be big fans of, with GiveMeSport revealing that Spurs are keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old’s performances.
The report states that Crystal Palace and West Ham had already shown interest in the Frenchman, with Postecoglou’s side being the latest Premier League side to enter the race.
The report says that Tottenham are willing to try and lure the midfielder to N17 and that they are not afraid of getting involved in a bidding war with the Eagles and the Hammers.
