Tottenham Hotspur could battle several Premier League clubs, including their fiercest local rivals, for a player who is considered to be one of the best-emerging stars in Europe.
Transfer tussle expected?
This information is carried by Football Inisder and the player mentioned is Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, who has been making waves over the last 18 months.
The attacking midfielder’s stock has risen even further on the back of his impressive start to the season, which has seen him score seven goals and provide two assists in just eight league games (Transfermarkt).
The report says that both Spurs and Arsenal have been alerted to the youngster’s performances and are doing ‘their due diligence’ on the player ahead of a potential move.
Race could heat up
Football Insider say that the two North London sides could well be joined in the race for Sudakov’s signature by other top Premier League sides.
Manchester City are allegedly eyeing the 22-year-old as a potential long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne while Liverpool are also thought to be keeping tabs on the player.
The fact that the Ukraine international has Champions League experience under his belt is seen as a positive by these English sides.

Deal difficult to do
However, the outlet points out that Shakhtar Donetsk are notoriously difficult to negotiate with and have already ruled out a January sale.
That means that any move for Sudakov might have to wait until next summer, and with the midfielder’s current deal running until 2028, it is expected to take a big transfer fee to lure him away from Ukraine.
The publication adds that some Premier League clubs might be apprehensive about spending a huge fee on the youngster as there are concerns over how he will cope with the physicality of English football.
