Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced that young striker Will Lankshear has agreed a new deal with the club, extending his contract until 2029.

This five-year contract extension demonstrates Spurs’ confidence in the centre-forward, rewarding him for his impressive performances last season.

Lankshear, who is praised as an excellent poacher, began his career at the Arsenal Academy before moving to Sheffield United.

In February 2021, he signed a scholarship contract with Sheffield United, where he quickly made a name for himself.

His exceptional goal-scoring ability caught Tottenham’s eye, leading to his signing in the summer of 2022 for a fee that could rise to £2.5 million.

Since joining Spurs, Lankshear has continued to excel. The 19-year-old had a prolific last season with the club’s Under-21s, finishing as the Premier League 2 top scorer with 23 goals.

His performance in the play-off final, where he scored twice against Sunderland, helped secure the league title for the Lilywhites earlier in May.

Lankshear has been training with the first team this week and is expected to go on loan this season to gain regular senior minutes.

There is significant interest in him from clubs in the Championship and League One, as reported by Alasdair Gold.
