Tottenham Hotspur’s 18-year-old midfielder Lucas Bergvall recently shared a light-hearted story from his initiation into the team this summer.

After joining Spurs in July 2024 following an £8.5 million transfer agreed earlier in the year, Bergvall had to perform the traditional initiation song in front of the squad.

Opting for ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” the Swedish youngster’s performance wasn’t exactly a hit, as he humorously admitted to being playfully booed by his teammates.

Speaking to Aftonbladet, Bergvall said:

“I sang ABBA’s ‘Dancing Queen’. It was really, really bad. I was booed afterwards.”

Despite the teasing, the episode highlights the tight-knit camaraderie within the Spurs squad, showing the good-natured atmosphere among the players.

While his singing may have missed the mark, Bergvall’s performances on the pitch are anything but.

Bergvall has already made a positive impression at the club. His standout performances during pre-season caught the eye, and manager Ange Postecoglou has shown faith in the midfielder, bringing him off the bench in all three of Tottenham’s Premier League matches so far. His consistent contributions are a testament to his growing role within the team.

As the season unfolds, Spurs supporters will be keen to see how Bergvall continues to develop and assert himself further in the squad.
