Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell.

The 25-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season and he has been linked with clubs like Arsenal and Barcelona as well. According to a report from Spanish publication SPORT via SportWitness, Tottenham are looking to sign him up on a bargain and it remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with Palace in January.

The Eagles could look to sell the player for a reasonable amount of money midway through the season instead of losing him for free in the summer. Meanwhile, Spurs need defensive reinforcements and the left-back could prove to be a useful acquisition. He is capable of operating as a wingback as well as a winger. Apart from his defensive qualities, he will help them improve going forward.

He could be the ideal long-term replacement for Ben Davies, who is expected to be replaced at the end of the season. Mitchell will be attracted to the idea of joining a big club like Tottenham and he might be able to compete in Europe with them.

Arsenal keen on Tyrick Mitchell

Similarly, Arsenal will be an attractive destination for the player as well. They need to bring in an upgrade on Oleksandr Zinchenko and signing a proven performer in the Premier League would be a wise decision. Given his contract situation, he will be a cheap acquisition and his arrival would allow Arsenal to invest in the other areas of the squad as well.

It will be interesting to see where the 25-year-old defender ends up.

He will want to compete at a high level, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham or Arsenal can convince him. Barcelona are keen on the player as well, and they will be hoping to secure a pre-contract agreement with him next month.
