Tottenham are close to agreeing a new deal with their youth academy star Mikey Moore.
Moore’s future has been the talk of the town in recent weeks. The Tottenham attacking sensation is considered to be one of the brightest talents in England. Multiple top clubs from across Europe are willing to offer him a contract but according to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham are close to agreeing on a new deal with the English youth international.
Despite reports linking him with a move away from the club, Spurs are confident about agreeing on an extension with the 16-year-old who seems destined for greatness having already made his debut for their senior team under Ange Postecoglou. The North London club are working hard to ensure they tie the teenage sensation to a professional deal as soon as he turns 17 at the start of next month (11th August).
The Australian manager handed Moore his Tottenham debut towards the end of last season as he became the youngest player in the club’s history to play in the Premier League. While he is currently a part of Spurs’ Under-18 team, Postecoglou has included him in their squad for the pre-season tour to Japan and Korea. He is expected to get some minutes as the former Celtic boss considers having him in their first-team squad for the 2024/25 season.
Moore has been a part of the Tottenham academy since he was eight. He has come up the ranks at some pace and has been a regular for their Under 18s and 21s. While he prefers playing out wide on the left, the teenager is capable enough to feature anywhere in attack. Given the kind of potential Moore has, securing his long-term future has to be one of the priorities for Spurs.
