Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for the Juventus defender Federico Gatti.
The North London club want to further reinforce their defence ahead of next season as Ange Postecoglou seeks to add more depth to his backline. Despite having signed Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin over the last two transfer windows, the Australian manager still feels the need to add another top-quality centre-back to his squad as he looks to push for a top-four finish next season.
According to Gianni Balzarini via TuttoJuve, Tottenham are interested in the services of Federico Gatti and have knocked on Juventus’ door to enquire about him. €25-30 million could help them secure the services of the Italian international.
He arrived at the Turin-based club in the summer of 2022. While he didn’t get much game time in his debut season at the club, he was a constant feature in the heart of the defence in the 2023/24 campaign.
His performances for the Italian outfit haven’t gone unnoticed and there is significant interest from Tottenham who feel his profile would be a perfect fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system. While he still has four years left on his deal with Juventus, Spurs seem interested in prising him away.
The North London club have asked for information about the 26-year-old centre-back who is valued between €25-30 million by the Italian club. Nothing concrete has happened yet but if Spurs do end up pushing for his signature and accept the demands of Juventus, they will be looking to use the funds raised to push for the services of Riccardo Calafiori.
