The speculation over Ange Postecoglou’s replacement continues to run rife at Tottenham, with a young English manager now thought to be on the club’s radar, even though he is set to take his club down this season.
While Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva and Thomas Frank have been named as leading contenders for the Tottenham job over recent months, some younger options are now being mooted as potential replacements for Ange Postecoglou.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Spurs are also admirers of Scott Parker after the former Tottenham midfielder guided Burnley to promotion.
A fresh update has now suggested that Tottenham Hotspur could turn to a 38-year-old who, like Parker, is unproven at the highest level.
Tottenham could move for former academy coach Kieran McKenna
It has now been suggested by journalist Alex Crook that a Tottenham move for Kieran McKenna cannot be ruled out, even though Ipswich are set to go straight back down.
Like Parker, McKenna began his coaching career at Hotspur Way, holding a number of positions in the academy set-up before becoming the head coach of the Under-18s.
The 38-year-old, who was himself a former Tottenham academy product, has impressed since taking over at Ipswich, but the Tractor Boys have been found out in the Premier League this season.

Despite this, Crook told talkSPORT about Spurs’ managerial search: “So is Kieran McKenna, and I wouldn’t completely rule that one out.”
Why Spurs fans should be open-minded about Parker and McKenna
The way that clubs hire managers has changed completely as the game has evolved tactically over the last five years. It has now become much more meritocratic, with young managers with fresh ideas preferred over experienced managers with lengthy CVs.
That is demonstrated by the fact that Bayern Munich appointed Vincent Kompany even though he had been relegated by Burnley, while Chelsea turned to Enzo Maresca even though he had only managed in the Championship.
