According to an update from Italy, Tottenham Hotspur could offer one of their midfielders to AC Milan as part of a deal to sign Fikayo Tomori.

Tottenham Hotspur eventually signed Kevin Danso from Lens in the final days of the January transfer window, but not before trying and failing to sign an England international.

At that time, it was reported by a few outlets that Spurs made a move for Fikayo Tomori, but the AC Milan man turned down the chance to join the Lilywhites.

Over recent weeks, some outlets have said that Tottenham could go back in for Tomori this summer, with the centre-back thought to be valued by Milan at £26m.

Tottenham come up with an alternative plan to sign Fikayo Tomori

SpazioMilan have now reported that Milan are set to make big changes to their backline this summer, with Tomori expected to be sold.

The report claims that Tottenham still retain an interest in the 27-year-old, and suggests that they could use a different strategy to land the player.

It is asserted that Spurs are considering offering Rodrigo Bentancur to Milan as part of the deal to sign Tomori.

Sergio Conceicao’s side are said to be keeping a close eye on the Uruguayan’s situation as he is set to enter the final year of his contract.

Spurs are working on a new contract for Rodrigo Bentancur

It first emerged over a month ago that Spurs had begun talks with Bentancur’s representatives over a new contract, with the early discussions thought to be encouraging.

However, since then, it has also been revealed that Bentancur has transfer interest from other clubs if Tottenham are unable to tie him down to a new deal.

This is certainly a situation to keep your eye on, and Spurs will be hoping that the 27-year-old’s head does not get turned due to the growing interest in his services.
