Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bolster their attack for next season

Tottenham Hotspur have been in dire need for a major clear-out of their squad. The Lilywhites are heading towards one of the most important transfer windows in recent years. With many players underperforming this season for Spurs, it is looking very likely that players will get sold as soon as possible to bring in new fresh faces.

Spurs are enduring a tough campaign under Ange Postecoglou. The North London club are nowhere near the Champions League spots and it is looking highly unlikely that they will qualify for Europe next season through the Premier League. However, not everything is bad at N17. Ange’s men are still competing in the Europa League and have a chance of ending a 17-year-long trophy drought if they go on and win the competition.

Gone are the days of prolific forwards donning the Lilywhite jersey. There used to be a time when Tottenham had iconic strikers in their ranks year after year. The likes of Harry Kane, Teddy Sheringham, Dimitar Berbatov and Jermaine Defoe have all been successful in the Spurs shirt. But now, the North London club is in desperate need of reviving those good old days and bringing a prolific forward in the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are linked to Moise Kean

As per Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham are said to be in the race for Fiorentina striker Moise Kean. The North London have been long time admirers of the player and have been following his progress for some time now. However, CaughtOffside suggests that Napoli, Arsenal, and Newcastle United are also in the race to sign the Italy international.

It was earlier reported that, Daniel Levy had sent out delegates to watch the 25-year-old play in a couple of Serie A games. This only suggests how serious the club have been in getting the ex-Juventus player’s signature and bring him to N17. CaughtOffiside recently revealed that the Kean has a release clause of €52 million in his contract as well.

A Premier League return on the cards?

Moise Kean has had a ‘rollercoaster’ career so far. The Italy international made his Juventus debut at a very young age, bursting onto the scene and making an instant impact. Then came a serious downfall in form, following his switch from Turin to Merseyside. The 25-year-old endured a tough time at Everton in the Premier League.

According to Transfermarkt, Kean managed to score just four goals and provide two assists in 39 games for the Toffees. The young striker was heavily criticised for his lack of end-product and was eventually sent on loan a couple of times. But this season has been a standout campaign for the 25-year-old. As per Sofascore, the Fiorentina No.20 has scored 15 goals and provided three assists in just 26 games in all competitions for the Italian club.

It has been a stellar effort from the Italian to bounce back and prove his doubters wrong. Will Moise Kean return to the Premier League and make amends? I guess we will have to wait and watch.
