Their report states that talks over a long-term contract are still in the early stages, with no agreement close at this time.
It has also been revealed that further meetings are planned in the coming weeks, with Tottenham eager to extend Bentancur’s stay given his status as an integral first-team player.

The Uruguayan’s time at Spurs has not been without its challenges. The midfielder made a strong start under Antonio Conte but suffered an ACL injury in February 2023, followed by an ankle ligament issue later that year.
