Tottenham Hotspur are planning to send a bid of £84 million for Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens.
It is being reported that Tottenham Hotspur are planning a lucrative offer to sign young Borussia Dortmund star, Jamie Gittens. The North London club are set to compete with rivals Arsenal and Chelsea for the 20-year-old’s signature. It is also being reported by Sport BILD that Spurs are planning to spend as much as £84 million on the England U-21 international.
Tottenham Hotspur are not having a memorable season and are in the bottom half of the Premier League. The club has been hit with many injuries and Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is hoping to be backed in the summer to strengthen his team’s attacking options.
After signing Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window, the Lilywhites are aiming to further upgrade their left-sided attacking option by signing Jamie Gittens in the summer.
Christian Falk, a reliable journalist from Sport BILD, reported that Spurs are genuinely interested in signing the youngster as they see him as a potential replacement for Heung-Min Son. Talking on Sport BILD’s Youtube channel, Falk said,
“Dortmund crashed in the league, the Champions League is getting further away, and with that the income from the Champions League next season. They have to win it to be in it again.”
The German journalist also went on to say,
“If they miss out, they’ll have to sell players and Gittens is highly regarded. Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be offering £84 million. You have to say that would be nice money.”
Jamie Gittens is a perfect signing for Tottenham Hotspur
Just like Tottenham Hotspur, German club Borussia Dortmund are not having a good season. The club sits at 10th place in the Bundesliga and are six points away from automatic qualifying spots for the UEFA Champions League.
However, amidst all the negative spotlight revolving around Borussia Dortmund, Jamie Gittens has been a shining star for the German club. The England U-21 has registered 11 goals and four assists in 36 games across all competitions this season. The youngster has been a revelation for Dortmund and made the left-wing spot his own.
Jamie Gittens can be a perfect signing for Tottenham Hotspur. The English club likes to play counter-attacking football and are quick in transitions. This can be ideal for the 20-year-old as he is an explosive winger and benefits when there are large spaces to run into while attacking.
