Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign “unstoppable” striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig for around £67m

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to add more depth to their forward line in the summer by trying to sign Benjamin Sesko. The North London club look to be considering a deal to sign the highly rated 21-year-old from RB Leipzig.

However, Spurs face competition from several clubs for the prolific striker’s signature. GIVEMESPORT confirms Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are said to be exploring the opportunity to sign Sesko as well, if it’s feasible.

Spurs signed Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window on an initial loan. But the North London club also has an option to extend to make the deal permanent for £45million in the summer.

Ange Postecoglou’s side will look to add more firepower in attack by looking to sign Sesko. The 21-year-old is said to have a release clause of £67million inserted in his contract, but GIVEMESPORT sources confirm that RB Leipzig will allow the Slovenia international to leave for less if certain conditions are met.

GMS also confirms that Spurs are considering selling Heung-min Son and Richarlison in the summer if a good bid arrives. Timo Werner’s loan will also not be extended by the club after failing to impress the Club hierarchy.

This will prompt Tottenham Hotspur to enter the market with an aim to sign a dynamic striker to replace the outgoings and make a statement signing. If the Club does end up signing Sesko, it will be a statement of intent to show that Ange Postecoglou is not messing about and that the English club are willing to end their trophy drought.

Will Sesko fit in at Tottenham Hotspur under Ange?

Tottenham Hotspur have had a long history of successful strikers that have played for the club. From the likes of Teddy Sheringham and Dimitar Berbatov to the likes of Harry Kane and Robbie Keane. The list goes on and on. So, being at Spurs will certainly not be a step down for Benjamin Sesko.

In just 23 Bundesliga games this season, the 21-year-old has already scored 10 goals and provided four assists for RB Leipzig. He is one of the main players for the German club. The official website of Bundesliga termed Sesko as an “unstoppable” striker.

For someone who is 6’4”, the Slovenia international is rapid and has a good amount of flair. The prolific striker likes to hold the ball up and create chances for his teammates. Sesko is equally strong on both feet. The 21-year-old prefers to go to either side to create a goal-scoring chance, and that makes him tough to defend against.

Ange Postecoglou prefers his strikers to be quick and explosive. The Australian manager tends to make his team play intense transitional football. This fits perfectly well with Sesko’s strengths, which makes him an ideal fit for Tottenham Hotspur. There remains a lot of interest in the talented striker, but Spurs could finally end their trophy drought if they end up signing Benjamin Sesko. Fans can only hope that the club acts on it in the summer.
