Tottenham Hotspur forward Mathys Tel was full of praise for his new teammate James Maddison
Tottenham Hotspur star Mathys Tel joined the North London club from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window and has been settling down well. The 19-year-old forward has already made five appearances for Spurs since joining and scored one goal during that time.
The French international recently sat down with TNT Sports and answered some interesting questions related to Spurs, as well as football in general. Tel was asked various questions about how he has settled in London and his Tottenham Hotspur teammates.
The most interesting question that the 19-year-old was asked about was which Tottenham Hotspur player’s attribute or skill he would love to have. To which, the youngster answered,
“Maddison. Every time, his calmness on the ball, his technique is crazy so yes, the calmness on the ball and his technique.”
Tel was full of praise for his new teammate and did not have to think twice before answering the question. The new signing is one of many players who have praised James Maddison’s ability on the ball. It just shows how highly rated James Maddison is deemed to be and the instant impact the England international can make whenever he is on the pitch.
Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to get Mathys Tel and James Maddison back in form
Tottenham Hotspur has been in the bottom half of the Premier League table for quite some time now. The North London club has been hit with several injuries to key players, including England international James Maddison. However, the 28-year-old has recently been involved in the matchday squad after recovering fully from his injury.
Maddison has been highly impactful whenever called upon by Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. The former Leicester City player has featured in 33 games in all competitions and has scored 10 goals. His most recent goal contributions came against Manchester United and Ipswich Town in the Premier League, where he scored and assisted respectively.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou will also hope that new signing Mathys Tel can get involved in the goals more. Injuries to forwards Dominic Solanke and Richarlison have certainly not helped the Spurs manager and the out-of-form Heung-Min Son has also failed to step up in their absence.
Tel has been immediately integrated into the starting 11 and has had no time to adapt to the playing style of Tottenham Hotspur. The intense running and constant pressing style of play is completely different to what the 19-year-old was used to at Bayern Munich. The French international is also being utilised on the wing, but that has not yet worked out as the Spurs manager would have hoped for.
