Tottenham Hotspur have suffered another major injury blow in what has already been a difficult season.
Spurs’ key attacker Dejan Kulusevski is set to be sidelined due to a foot injury, as reported by Daily Mail.
Tottenham injury woes: Dejan Kulusevski sidelined with injury
As per the report, the Swedish international is currently undergoing medical evaluations to determine the severity of the issue, but it has been confirmed that he will miss the upcoming Europa League fixture against AZ Alkmaar as well as the weekend’s Premier League match against Bournemouth.
Kulusevski has been a key creative force for Tottenham this season, making his absence a significant blow for Ange Postecoglou’s side as they push for European progression and look to improve their domestic standing.
It remains uncertain whether the 24-year-old will return before the international break, leaving Spurs with a void in their attacking setup.
Kulusevski has been an outstanding signing for Tottenham
Kulusevski initially joined the Lilywhites on an 18-month loan from Juventus in January 2022 and quickly established himself as a key player. In his first half-season, he registered five goals and eight assists, prompting the club to make his move permanent in the following year, securing his contract until 2028.
This season, he has been one of Tottenham’s standout performers despite the team’s inconsistencies, contributing 10 goals and 10 assists across 42 appearances in all competitions.
His impact is further reflected in his underlying statistics, as he ranks among the Premier League’s top playmakers. He sits in the top 10 for Expected Assisted Goals (6.1), Key Passes (63), and Shot-Creating Actions (122), highlighting his influence in the final third.
With Tottenham still in contention for Europa League success and aiming to climb the Premier League table, having Kulusevski back as soon as possible will be crucial.
Postecoglou will be hoping for a swift recovery, as the Swede’s creativity and attacking presence are vital for Spurs’ ambitions in the latter stages of the season.
