Tottenham are keen on signing Scott McTominay as they look to reinforce their midfield this summer.

Scott McTominay’s future at Manchester United looks quite uncertain. The Scottish international is expected to be on the move this summer and there is significant interest in his services from clubs in the Premier League.

According to Duncan Castles via The Transfers Podcast, Tottenham have entered the race for the services of the United academy graduate.

The North London club might have added two exceptionally talented midfielders Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to their squad. But, they are still on the lookout for more experienced campaigners who could help strengthen their midfield. With Pierre-Emile Højbjerg no longer at the club and Giovani Lo Celso’s future uncertain, they do need to have more quality as well as depth and they have been keeping a close eye on McTominay’s situation at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old did have an impressive campaign last time out as he scored 10 goals and bagged three assists in his 43 outings. His versatility was of great help to Erik ten Hag. But, it seems the United academy graduate is not a part of the Dutch manager’s plans moving ahead. With his contract running out in 12 months, United are ready to cash in on him.

The Red Devils have already rejected an offer from Fulham who have returned with an improved bid of around £20 million but United are holding out for £40 million.

Tottenham have entered the race for his signature as they feel he could add a lot of quality to their midfield. More importantly, his versatility could give Ange Postecoglou a lot of tactical options.

However, it will be interesting to see if McTominay is keen on a move to Spurs. One thing is certain, the North London club will try their best to lower United’s demands with just a year left on the player’s contract.
