Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Southampton winger Tyler Dibling.
According to Florian Plettenberg from Sky Germany, the 18-year-old has attracted the attention of multiple top clubs and Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig are prepared to pay €30 million for the winger.
Southampton are holding out for a lot more, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get the deal done. Spurs and other Premier League clubs are ‘heavily involved’ in the race as well.
The player has a contract with Southampton until 2027, and the English club are under no pressure to sell him. They will only sanction his departure for the right price.
The 18-year-old has shown his quality in the Premier League this season and he could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for Tottenham. They need to add more quality and depth to the wide areas. Dibling could develop into a key player for the club with the right guidance.
He will add goals, creativity, and flair to the side. He is versatile enough to operate on both flanks, but he’s naturally a right-sided player.
Brennan Johnson has not been able to live up to the expectations, and his performances have been inconsistent since his arrival. Dibling could prove to be an upgrade.
Tottenham will be hoping to sign him for a reasonable amount of money and it remains to be seen whether they follow up on their interest with an official offer to the player.
They need to improve their squad if they want to push for trophies in the coming season and the 18-year-old would be a future investment. He has all the attributes to develop into a top-class Premier League attacker and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
