Tottenham are actively scouting the youth market to attract the brightest prospects to their academy.

According to the German outlet Bild, Spurs have shown a keen interest in Hertha Berlin’s young talent, Boris Lum.

Lum, who was promoted to Hertha Berlin’s U17 side in January last year and later featured for their U19s, has made significant strides in his development. His progress has even led to training with the first team, highlighting his impressive potential at a young age.

The report claims that Hertha Berlin’s coaching staff has been highly impressed with Lum, describing him as their ‘greatest academy talent.’

Tottenham have been proactive in their pursuit of Lum, with the report suggesting that the German U17 international has met with Spurs for talks three times.

It adds that the player has also visited their training facilities and watched the team in action, indicating serious interest from the North London club.

However, they face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich, Ajax and Manchester City, who are all interested in the player with a €5m release clause.

The teenager has already made 10 appearances for Germany’s U17 national team, showcasing his potential on an international stage. During his time with Hertha Berlin’s U17 and U19 sides, he made 30 appearances across all competitions last season, further highlighting his rapid development. (Transfermarkt)

Tottenham’s interest in Lum aligns with their recent strategy of signing highly-talented younsgters from across Europe. In the last couple of windows, they have signed the likes of Ashley Phillips, Alejo Veliz, Lucas Bergvall, and Archie Gray.
