Tottenham Hotspur have no intentions of parting ways with their midfield star Yves Bissouma.
The North London club are expected to make quite a few changes to their midfield before the start of the 2024/25 season. While they have already added Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to their squad, there is still a lot of work to be done.
Yves Bissouma is one of the names who has been linked with a move away from the club but according to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham have no plans to offload the 27-year-old who has been an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans.
He was the go-to man for the Australian manager in the centre of the park last season and he wants him around at all costs. Bissouma who joined Spurs in the summer of 2022 featured in 28 Premier League games last season. He was a constant feature in their starting XI and only missed games because of injury, suspension, or international duty.
The former Celtic boss considers him to be an integral part of their plans for the upcoming season and the former Brighton midfielder has been hugely impressive during the initial weeks of the pre-season. With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg likely to be sold and Oliver Skipp’s future uncertain, Spurs intend on keeping hold of Bissouma who still has two years left on his contract.
The Mali international is expected to play a crucial role in their first team under Postecoglou and with two of their defensive midfield options expected to be on the move, they could look to sign a top-quality holding midfielder to support Bissouma.
