Tottenham have reportedly dismissed the possibility of offloading Richarlison in the January transfer window, despite persistent interest from Brazilian club Fluminense.

The 27-year-old forward has been linked with a return to his former side in recent weeks, with Brazilian clubs actively seeking reinforcements ahead of their mid-season transfer period.

Tottenham decide Richarlison is not for sale

However, according to GE Globo, discussions held last Friday between Spurs and Fluminense concluded with Tottenham making it clear they are unwilling to part ways with Richarlison.

Fluminense president Mário Bittencourt had openly expressed a desire to bring the Brazilian international back, adding to speculation that Richarlison might consider a return to Brazil to rejuvenate his career and strengthen his chances with the national team.

Nonetheless, Spurs’ latest stance suggests the striker is still a part of their plans for the remainder of the campaign.

Richarlison’s season has been marred by injuries, which have significantly limited his contributions on the pitch.

A hamstring injury sustained in November has compounded his earlier struggles, sidelining him for a total of 20 matches. Before his setback, he featured in only seven games across all competitions, registering a single goal and one assist in just 173 minutes of playing time.

Despite these challenges, manager Ange Postecoglou seems intent on retaining the £60m Tottenham man’s services.

While the summer signing of Dominic Solanke has provided Spurs with a dependable attacking option, Richarlison’s experience and potential to deliver once fully fit make him a valuable asset as the club navigate a difficult season.

Tottenham’s decision to hold onto him shows their belief in his ability to recover and contribute meaningfully during the second half of the campaign.

For now, the focus at Spurs is on helping Richarlison regain fitness and form, ensuring he can play a pivotal role in the club’s push for stability and success in the coming months.
