Tottenham are not only attracting interest for their players but also for their backroom personnel.

Recently, Spurs academy director Simon Davies received an offer to become Craig Bellamy’s assistant coach for the Wales national team.

However, according to Football.London, Davies has rejected the offer and decided to remain with the Lilywhites.

Bellamy, who has been appointed as the new head coach of Wales, aimed to include Davies in his coaching staff. This followed the sacking of Rob Page after Wales finished third in their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying group and subsequently lost to Poland on penalties in the play-offs.

Despite the tempting offer, Davies has chosen to continue his role at Tottenham, where he serves as the Academy Director. His decision highlights his dedication to the development and success of the club’s youth academy.

Simon Davies has had an illustrious career both on and off the pitch. He was part of the famous Manchester United youth team of 1992 and later played as a midfielder in the Premier League.

Transitioning into coaching, Davies has accumulated extensive experience, including roles in Manchester City’s youth setup and as head coach at Anderlecht.

Davies joined Tottenham Hotspur in August 2022 as the Head of Coaching Methodology and was promoted to Academy Director in June 2023.

Under his leadership, the academy has continued to nurture and develop young talents, contributing significantly to the club’s long-term vision.
