Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz this summer.

The 24-year-old had an impressive campaign with the Turkish outfit last season and he has impressed in the European championships with Turkey as well. His performances have caught the attention of Tottenham and Manchester United.

According to a report from Haber3, both clubs are ‘closely following’ the 24-year-old winger, and they will have to pay £26 million in order to sign him. Yilmaz contributed to 7 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season and he will add some much-needed cutting edge to the Tottenham attack.

He is versatile enough to operate on both flanks, and that will be an added bonus for Spurs if they can get the deal done.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have the financial resources to sign the player as well. They need to replace Jadon Sancho in the summer and the Turkish international could prove to be a useful acquisition.

The opportunity to play in the Premier League will be quite attractive for Yilmaz and he will hope that the English clubs are willing to pay the asking price for him. He has proven himself in Turkish football and he will to make his mark in the Premier League now. It would be a major step up in his career, but he has the physical and technical attributes to do well in English football.

His numbers are likely to improve when he’s playing in a quality side alongside top quality players. The winger is likely to improve further with coaching and experience and the 24-year-old could develop into a key player for the two clubs.
