Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Signing a new striker was a top priority for Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur heading into the summer transfer window. They were involved in long-drawn negotiations with Bournemouth and eventually struck a deal to sign Dominic Solanke in a club-record deal worth £65 million.
While the former Liverpool striker’s arrival significantly bolsters their attack, Postecoglou’s team are still on the lookout for ways to add more quality to their attack. According to Fichajes, the North London club are interested in the services of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who could leave Everton at the end of the season with his contract running out.
The 27-year-old striker was linked with a move away from the Toffees throughout the summer. But, he ended up staying at the club. While the Merseyside club will be keen on extending his stay with his deal running out in less than 10 months, the player could push for a move away in search of a new challenge elsewhere.
Tottenham could provide an exciting opportunity for the English international to compete at the highest level. With Richarlison struggling for consistency, Calvert-Lewin could compete with Solanke for a place in the starting XI. His arrival could help Spurs take the next step and it could help them challenge the best teams in the country.
Given the amount of experience Calvert-Lewin has of playing in the English top flight, he could be a sensational signing for the North London club. With the 27-year-old potentially available on a free transfer, Spurs won’t want to miss out on the opportunity.
