Ange Postecoglou has been handed a triple boost for Tottenham's huge Europa League first leg clash against AZ Alkmaar. Spurs currently sit thirteenth in the Premier League table, and 11 points off the top six, which likely means much of the focus will be on progressing in Europe.

Injuries have derailed much of the 2024/25 campaign but Postecoglou has been handed some big boosts in recent weeks and more are expected. Brennan Johnson, James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario have all made an impact in the last few weeks after missing periods of action through injury.

Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke are yet to return but all three have been pictured back in training with Postecoglou recently hinting they could be back for the first leg in the Netherlands.

"With the injured guys, nothing has really changed," the Spurs boss admitted ahead of the game at home to Manchester City last week. "They are still progressing and training on and off with us. Hopefully over the next 7-10 days reintroduction."

And Postecoglou's comments look to have proven correct with all three players captured heading onto the plane heading overseas on Wednesday evening. A video uploaded to the club's official channels also showed James Maddison, Archie Gray, Brennan Johnson and Kevin Danso travelling along with academy goalkeeper Aaron Maguire.

Romero and Solanke were clearly shown in that footage while Van de Ven was the cover image for the club's article confirming their travelling squad.

Ben Davies and Dejan Kulusevski were two Spurs players not seen however, with the former recently suffering an issue.

Postecoglou then confirmed the duo would be absent because of injury. In terms of haven’t travelled, Deki Kulusevski is the only one. He got a knock on the foot and he's not sure when really," he admitted in a press conference.

He’s been able to train and play over the last few weeks. We’ve done some further investigations and no real clarity. Unlikely to be back before the international break, but nothing serious and no surgery or anything. Ben Davies is also back [home] at the training ground with Richarlison."
