We all know the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is an incredible football ground, but data has now proven it is key to the club’s on-field success, too.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is one of the best

Since opening its doors in 2019, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has quickly established itself as one of the most impressive, state-of-the-art football facilities in the world.

The 62,850 seater ground is capable of transforming overnight to host NFL games, boxing matches, or music concerts, and features every gadget and bit of technology you could dream of.

It has also become a money-making machine for Tottenham Hotspur, too, with the revenue generated on matchdays helping the club rise the ranks of the richest clubs in the world.

Of course, none of that really matters if results don’t go right and silverware isn’t lifted there, but the club is certainly geared for success off the pitch now.

Spurs are hard to beat at home

Well, now it seems statistics can prove the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is something of a fortress for the Lilywhites, as the ground ranks in the top five in the Premier League when it comes to how difficult it is for away teams to get a win there.

That’s according to data from FlashScore, who carried out a study into results from the birth of the Premier League in 1992, right up to the weekend just before the international break.

MORE SPURS STORIES

While the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is very young compared to some of its rival venues, it comes in fifth place, with 106 games played there, and 67 home wins during that time, to give a win percentage of 63.21% for Spurs.

Above them, Anfield has produced a 63.87% win rate for Liverpool (396 wins from 620 games), the Emirates has a 65.99% win rate (229 wins from 347 games), and the Etihad has given Manchester City a 67.82% win rate (274 wins from 404 matches).

At the top of the pile sits Manchester United and Old Trafford. Despite the Red Devils’ struggles of late, the Theatre of Dreams still comes in with a 69.35% home win ratio, with 430 victories for United in 620 games at their stadium.

White Hart Lane still makes the top 10

Interestingly, Tottenham’s old stadium, White Hart Lane, is still among the top ten in this study, too. The previous ground comes in eighth place, with a 52.18% home win ratio (251 wins from 481 games).
