Tottenham Hotspur can now bring Marcus Edwards back to the club for just €20 million.
Ange Postecoglou is keen on adding more depth and quality to his attack. While their priority is to sign a new number nine, they are also looking to bolster the flanks and according to Correio da Manha via SportWitness, Spurs can resign Marcus Edwards for just €20 million.
The 25-year-old winger parted ways with Tottenham back in the summer of 2019. After a few impressive seasons with Vitoria, he made the move to Sporting CP in the winter of 2022 and has only gone from strength to strength since.
Edwards has been a consistent performer for the Portuguese outfit and Spurs are now considering bringing him back to the club as they look to add more depth on the flanks. With the player capable enough to feature on either flank, Tottenham feel Edwards is the best option to ensure they meet the criteria for homegrown players in their squad next season.
The Sporting winger who contributed towards 15 goals last term has a great understanding of English football and on top of that, Spurs still own 35% of his future sale. With the North London club looking to resign him, the sell-on clause will now help them get a heavy discount.
With Edwards also keen on making a return to the Premier League, it is now up to the clubs to reach an agreement. The report states that a fee of around €20 million will be enough to convince Sporting CP to part ways with the English winger.
