Tottenham Hotspur are unwavering in their pursuit of Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze.
According to the latest from Football Transfers, Johan Lange, Spurs’ technical director, is eager to bring Eze to North London as a potential replacement for Heung-min Son.
The report claims that while Eze is not actively seeking a transfer, he expects Crystal Palace to allow him to leave if Tottenham meet the asking price of approximately £60 million.
It adds that Palace manager Oliver Glasner is keen to keep Eze at Selhurst Park. However, Spurs are ready to make a significant investment to secure Eze, which could potentially set a new club record for a signing.
Caughtoffside previously reported that initial discussions have been held between the Lilywhites and Eze’s representatives.
Eze’s potential addition to Tottenham aligns with the club’s plan of enhancing their squad with dynamic and creative talent. His versatility and attacking prowess make him an ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system.
Last season, Eze’s performances were outstanding despite a month-long muscle injury. He scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 27 Premier League appearances, highlighting his quality and potential impact at Spurs.
Eze’s talent was also evident during the recent Euro 2024. He was included in England’s 26-man squad and made his European Championship debut in a 1-1 draw against Denmark. In the round of 16, he pre-assisted Harry Kane’s winning goal against Slovakia and played in the quarterfinal victory over Switzerland.
As Tottenham continue their pursuit of Eze, fans are excited to see if the talented midfielder will join their ranks, bringing his flair and creativity to the team for the upcoming season.
