Tottenham will have to fork out a substantial amount to sign AS Monaco’s Brazilian full-back Vanderson.
While Spurs’ priority this summer is to bolster their attack, the North London club are also looking for ways to strengthen their back line. They are keen on acquiring the services of Vanderson and according to Corriere del Mezzogiorno via SportWitness, AS Monaco want €30 million for their young full-back.
Vanderson came up the ranks at Grêmio before leaving Brazil to join the French club in the winter of 2022. He has managed to establish himself in their first team and has been a consistent performer for them. While he did struggle with injuries during the 2023/24 season, the 23-year-old still had four goal contributions in his 23 outings.
His contract with Monaco runs until the summer of 2028 but multiple top clubs are willing to battle for his signature. Napoli are one of the clubs linked with the Brazilian international but they could pull out from the race with Tottenham willing to go hard for his signature.
The North London club are looking to strengthen the right side of their defence and they feel Vanderson could be an ideal fit into Ange Postecoglou’s system. With Emerson Royal expected to be on the move, the 23-year-old could come in as an ideal replacement.
Monaco are looking for €30 million from the sale of the Brazilian full-back and it will be interesting to see if Spurs are willing to meet those demands. The reported asking price seems quite reasonable for a player of his ability and potential, and the Brazilian could easily justify the investment in the near future.
