Tottenham hold an interest in Chelsea defender Axel Disasi as an alternative to Fikayo Tomori in their efforts to sign a new centre back ahead of Monday’s deadline.
Spurs are in talks with AC Milan over a swoop for Tomori, but it is unclear whether the England defender is ready to leave Italy for a move to Ange Postecoglou’s side.
The former Chelsea centre back was in talks to join Juventus and also has interest from Aston Villa. Milan want around £25m but Tottenham may offer an initial loan.
And Mail Sport understands Disasi is one of Tottenham’s options if a move for Tomori proves unsuccessful.
Chelsea are ready to sanction an exit for Disasi in the coming days, and there is significant interest in the 26-year-old central defender from a number of Premier League clubs.
Wolves and Aston Villa are among the clubs to hold an interest in Disasi heading into the final hours of the window.
Spurs fear centre back Radu Dragusin will miss a large chunk of the season with an injury suffered in midweek.
As a result, they have made a deal for a new centre back a priority.
