Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the RCD Espanyol attacker Javi Puado.
The 26-year-old had an impressive season with the Spanish outfit last year, and he helped him secure promotion to La Liga. He scored 17 goals in all competitions last season and his performances have attracted the attention of Tottenham.
According to a report from Spanish publication AS, Tottenham are keeping tabs on him ahead of a potential move in 2025. The attacker will be a free agent in the summer of 2025 and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham decide to sign him for a nominal price in January or on a free next summer.
Meanwhile, a report from Mucho Deporte claims that Tottenham have ‘enquired‘ about the attacker and it will be interesting to see if they follow up on their interest with an official proposal to sign him. They could certainly use more quality and depth in the attacking unit and Puado would be a quality addition.
Javi Puado would be a quality option
The 26-year-old is at the peak of his powers and he will look to influence the game in the final third with his goalscoring ability and creativity. He is capable of slotting into the role of a striker as well as a whinger. His versatility will be an added bonus for Tottenham. He could share the goalscoring burden with Dominic Solanke and improve Tottenham going forward.
The London outfit needs more quality and depth in the side if they want to push for major trophies. The 26-year-old is available for a reasonable price because of his contract situation and Spurs must do everything in their power to get the deal done. If they can sign him for a knockdown price in January, the deal could look like a major bargain in the long term.
