Premier League giants look for imminent deals before window closes

Transfer news – LIVE!
The January transfer window is set to close in just a few days’ time but the drama continues right up until the deadline. Arsenal are keen to sign a new striker but have seen a bid rejected for Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins, though there could still be hope when it comes to signing him. Indeed, reports now suggest that personal terms won’t be an issue for the England international, meaning they just need to agree a fee with the Midlands giants – albeit that will be easier said than done.
Manchester United are also expected to be busy. Patrick Dorgu from Leece is understood to be closing in on a move, while they reportedly retain an interest in Mathys Tel of Bayern Munich. There are now claims Ruben Amorim is looking to bring Sporting winger Geovany Quenda to Old Trafford.
Tottenham could also make late moves. Said to have been snubbed by Tel, Spurs are seemingly keen to bring AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori back to England. Follow all the latest news, gossip and rumours including updates on Chelsea and West Ham’s chase of Arthur Cabral with Standard Sport’s blog below!

Postecoglou sends message to Spurs transfer targets
Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou says any prospective signings who need the "hard sell" to join the club are "not right" for Spurs this month.
Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel is reported to have turned down Spurs after the clubs agreed a £50million fee for the 19-year-old forward, while they are also exploring available centre-backs ahead of Monday's deadline after Radu Dragusin suffered a knee injury against Elfsborg.
Johan Lange, Spurs' technical director, flew to Munich this week to discuss a move with Tel's camp but the Frenchman is thought to be considering other options.
Postecoglou has consistently said he only wants new signings who are enthusiastic about the club's potential and, asked about the challenge of convincing players to join given Spurs' league position, he said: "It depends what the players are looking for.
Postecoglou said: "It’s still a big club, it’s still a club that can challenge for honours and it’s whether the player sees the potential that we see right now, or certainly that I see. If it’s too much of a hard sell it’s probably not the right one for us."
