Arsenal begin the week lookng to finally seal a deal to sign Riccardo Calafiori after protracted talks over a £42million move, and are also being linked with Mikel Merino. The Gunners are desperate to add a new striker and contine to be linked with Viktor Gyokeres, but Joao Felix is a new name in the mix. English goalkeeper Tommy Setford is set to join from Ajax.

Talking of strikers, Chelsea are reportedly weighing up an audacious move for Ollie Watkins. The Aston Villa talisman has jumped to the head of the queue of possible new forwards, and the Blues hope to bring his price down by offering Conor Gallagher in part exchange. Aaron Anselmino and Caleb Wiley are in talks to join.

Manchester United on Sunday confirmed the signing of Joshua Zirkzee and hope to soon add Matthijs de Ligt to their ranks. A bid for Leny Yoro has been accepted, but the Lille youngster is taking some convincing. Tottenham have been tipped to step up attempts to sign Eberechi Eze, and have been linked with young stars Desire Doue, Bradley Locko and Jonathan David. According to Fabrizio Romano, United will bank £8.6million, including add-ons, and both a buy-back and sell-on clause.

Confirmation is imminent.

Arsenal will announce Albert Sambi Lokonga’s loan move to Sevilla today.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Spanish club will be able to make the move permanent for £10m next summer.

Man United still waiting on Leny Yoro decision

Talking of Manchester United, Leny Yoro still has not made a decision on his future.

United have had a £50million bid accepted by Lille for the young centre-back, but the teenager has not yet responded.

It is believed Yoro has his sights set on a move to Real Madrid rather than Old Trafford.

Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Dani Olmo by triggering his £51.5million (€60m) release clause.

The RB Leipzig forward has impressed throughout Euro 2024 and could tonight take home the Golden Boot award if a goal in the final

Chelsea and Barcelona are also interested, but it is City who have stolen a march by triggering his release clause.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that City have been following Olmo for several seasons, with Pep Guardiola a great admirer, and the club have moved quickly before his clause expires today. City will pay the full fee by Tuesday.

Chelsea and Tottenham are now favourites to sign Desire Doue.

According to L’Equipe, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have lodged bids for the Rennes midfielder but it is the Premier League pair leading the race.

Rennes are expected to demand €60million (£51m) for the 19-year-old this summer.

Doue is currently with France’s Olympics squad.

The striker has made no secret of his willingness to leave the club and the Bees appear resigned to losing him.

Mikel Arteta is keen to add the Italy defender to his ranks and talks with Bologna over a £42million deal have been ongoing and advanced for well over a week.

But before any further progress is made, Calafiori has been enjoying a well-deserved post-season holiday in the Maldives with his girlfriend!

You can't blame him, he's had a long campaign. But this week there is expected to be movement to finalise the deal.

Chelsea plot audacious Ollie Watkins move

Chelsea are plotting an audacious move for Ollie Watkins.

According to Football Insider, the Blues are ready to go big in any attempts to sign the England striker and will offer Conor Gallagher plus cash to Aston Villa.

Villa have previously shown interest in Gallagher and the clubs have a good relationship having worked together on a deal for Ian Maatsen earlier in the window.

Watkins is expected to be considered not for sale by Villa.

Arsenal interested in Joao Felix

Joao Felix’s Barcelona stint has now ended and Arsenal are among the clubs taking a look at the Portuguese winger.

That’s according to Revelo, who claim the Gunners are interested in signing the ex-Chelsea man permanently from Atletico Madrid.

Atleti are said to prefer a sale this summer with Felix also keen to leave, and a price tag of £25m has been set.

Benfica have reportedly offered £17m while Aston Villa want a loan deal.
