Chelsea target Jhon Duran could leave Aston Villa before Deadline Day
It is not considered a real possibility that Jhon Duran leaves Aston Villa before Monday’s deadline.
The Athletic report that Unai Emery’s preference for a lone striker means the tussle between Ollie Watkins and Duran is likely to end with one leaving - and the latter is attracting plenty of interest.
A £57million bid from West Ham has been rejected, with the club wanting close to £80m.
Villa’s interest in Joao Felix gives Chelsea the edge. The Blues have long been interested in Duran having previously failed to sign him.

Al-Hilal terminate Neymar contract ahead of Santos move
Neymar has seen his contract terminated by Al-Hilal as the Brazilian closes in on a return to Santos.
The forward moved to the Saudi club in August 2023 in a deal worth €90million, but played just seven times after suffering a serious knee injury just two months later.
"Al-Hilal Club Company and Neymar Jr. have agreed to terminate their contractual relationship by mutual consent,” the Saudi club posted on X.
Neymar is now expected to return to his childhood club Santos, who he left in 2013 to join Barcelona.

Barcelona still hold Marcus Rashford hope
Barcelona have not given up hope of signing Marcus Rashford.
Rashford at the weekend faced another blow to his desire to continue playing for Manchester United as manager Ruben Amorim said he would rather put his goalkeeper coach on the bench.
Rashford has not played since the middle of December and has rejected moves to Saudi Arabia and Serie A. It seems that Barca are Rashford’s preferred suitors despite their difficulties in terms of getting deals done.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the LaLiga giants are still in contact over Rashford, but need Ansu Fati to leave first to raise funds.

Evan Ferguson ready to reject Tottenham
It appears that one player who will not be joining Tottenham this week is Evan Ferguson.
The same Telegraph report says that Spurs are trying to get at least one deal over the line before the January window slams shut next Monday night.
However, potential striker target Evan Ferguson is reluctant to join Tottenham due to fears that he would be third-choice in the pecking order once Richarlison is back from his latest injury.
The Republic of Ireland international is expected to leave Brighton on loan before the deadline.

Chelsea have clear opportunity to sign Duran
Chelsea have a clear opportunity to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa.
According to Football.London, the Blues' striker target has never been closer to leaving despite Villa's asking price of £80million.
Duran has been tipped to push for the move having been playing second fiddle to Ollie Watkins, and has turned down overtures from Saudi Arabia to remain in a competitive league.
With Villa and Chelsea in talks over Axel Disasi and Joao Felix, and Christopher Nkunku attracting interest from Manchester United and Bayern, the subject of Duran moving in the opposite direction is likely to be raised.
A big few days ahead.

Man Utd submit third bid for Dorgu
Manchester United have increased their bid to sign Patrick Dorgu.
The Red Devils have seen two bids for the Danish left-back, 20, rejected by Serie A side Lecce.
A third offer has now been submitted to bring them closer to the €40m (£33.5m) price being demanded.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the bid has gone in, but should that fail the Daily Mail claim United could exercise their £15m buy-back option on Alvaro Fernandez at Benfica.

Arsenal and Tottenham to trigger Williams' release clause
Arsenal and Tottenham are ready to trigger Nico Williams’ €58million (£49m) release clause in a thrilling end to the transfer window.
Williams, one of Europe’s most exciting young wingers, is set to be the target of a head-to-head between the north London rivals as they both look to bolster their attacks.
The 22-year-old, who plays with Athletic Club, has scored three goals and given five assists in 29 matches in all competitions this season.
And now Spanish publication Fichajes claim he could be heading to the Premier League.

Chelsea to decide on Disasi exit
Aston Villa have agreed terms with Axel Disasi to join on loan for the rest of the season, with talks now ongoing with Chelsea to seal the deal.
According to Football Insider, Disasi is available this month having fallen down the pecking order at the Blues following the return of Trevoh Chalobah.
Villa need a new centre-back having sold Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce and failed to sign Loic Bade.

Arsenal to benefit from Sesko's 'gentleman's agreement'
Arsenal's pursuit of Benjamin Sesko will be boosted by a "gentleman's agreement" the striker has.
According to CaughtOffside, Sesko and RB Leipzig have agreed to part ways in the summer should his "achievable" asking price be met.
That's good news for the Gunners, but not so much this month with the club in desperate need of a new striker.
Former journalist Charles Watts said: “Sesko still feels like the most likely one for me I have to say. His decision to stay at Leipzig in the summer and sign a new deal did not put Arsenal off. In fact it’s a decision we know they understood, whilst obviously being disappointed.
“The belief is that there is a gentleman’s agreement between Sesko and Leipzig that he could leave this summer for an amount that would certainly be achievable for Arsenal.
“So right now it feels like that will be the route they will try and go down. The big challenge, however, will be convincing Sesko that he will get plenty of game time should he decide to make the move, something they were unable to do last summer.

Arsenal to beat Man City to Nypan signature
Arsenal are confident they have won the race to sign Sverre Nypan.
The 18-year-old is attracting interest from the Gunners, Aston Villa and Girona, the latter of which are part of the City Group and would likely provide a stepping stone to Manchester City.
However, The Independent report that Arsenal have made progress in recent days, and it is believed that Rosenborg are willing to do a deal with them.
