Arsenal are getting closer to a deal for Riccardo Calafiori as they look to seal their first major summer signing. The Gunners are also weighing up a new offer for Dan Bentley, with a new striker still an important necessity amid continued links to the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen. However, they may have missed out on Nico Williams to Barcelona, while Nuno Tavares and Jakub Kiwior may be heading towards the exit door.
Chelsea are said to have held talks over Dani Olmo amid interest in Spain’s Euro 2024 star, with Renato Veiga, Aaron Anselmino and Caleb Wiley all set to arrive at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are also rumoured to have made an offer for Karim Adeyemi and could also look to sign Francisco Conceicao. Manchester United have been handed a boost over Leny Yoro as they also look to clinch deals for Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Jarrad Branthwaite, though they face new competition for Joao Neves.

Barcelona agree deal in principle for Nico Williams
Premier League suitors for Nico Williams may just have missed out to Barcelona.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all this summer been linked with the Athletic Club forward, who is another player to have shone for Spain en route to the final of Euro 2024.
But Catalan publication Sport now claim that Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle with their LaLiga rivals to sign Williams.

Man Utd close to Matthijs de Ligt transfer agreeement
Manchester United are now pushing hard to complete the swift signing of Matthijs de Ligt, reports claim.
The Red Devils have seriously stepped up their summer transfer plans over recent weeks, with defence a key priority area to strengthen significantly with bids also made for Leny Yoro and Jarrad Branthwaite.
According to Sport Bild in Germany, United will look to quickly wrap up the signing of De Ligt following the Netherlands’ agonising semi-final exit from Euro 2024 at the hands of England in Dortmund last night.
An agreement with Bayern Munich over the former Ajax centre-back is now said to be close in a huge boost for Erik ten Hag.

Liverpool battling to sign Adrien Rabiot on free transfer
Liverpool are reportedly chasing a deal for Adrien Rabiot this summer.
The 29-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Serie A giants Juventus at the end of last month following the expiration of his contract in Turin.
There is now a heavyweight scramble to secure the services of the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who is expected to decide on his next move now France have been eliminated from Euro 2024.
According to CalcioMercato in Italy, Liverpool are battling the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich for Rabiot.

Manchester United handed Leny Yoro boost after fee agreed
Manchester United have been handed a key new boost in their pursuit of Leny Yoro.
The Red Devils are believed to have made a serious play this week to beat Real Madrid to the signing of the teenage French defender, with reports of a £42m bid being accepted by Ligue 1 side Lille.
And Yoro has now hit out at fake social media accounts that claimed he does not want to move to Old Trafford at all as he holds out for a dream Madrid switch instead.
"I don't want you @ManUtd. Leave me alone,” one account pretending to be Yoro tweeted.
To which the player himself then responded: “Fake account. You guys are psycho. Signal this account.”

Chelsea hold talks over Dani Olmo
Chelsea are among the Premier League clubs interested in a deal for Dani Olmo, reports claim.
The RB Leipzig forward has played a key role in Spain’s march to the final of Euro 2024, registering three goals and two assists in the last four games despite mostly being used off the bench.
He will have another important job to do against England in Berlin on Sunday, after which he could head to the Premier League.
Olmo is believed to have a £50m release clause in his current Leipzig contract that expires on Monday, with the Daily Mirror counting Chelsea as one of the clubs interested in his services.
The Blues are even said to have held talks with the player’s camp, though others say Chelsea are adamant that a deal won’t be done.

Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal new update
Arsenal look to be edging ever closer towards a deal for Riccardo Calafiori.
The Gunners have identified the versatile Italy international, 22, as a priority summer target as they look to bolster Mikel Arteta’s defensive ranks for another tilt at the Premier League title next season.
Calafiori is believed to have had an agreement on personal terms for some time now, with Arsenal trying to thrash out a deal with Bologna.
According to the latest update from Fabrizio Romano, talks are ongoing with the Serie A outfit - who owe 50 per cent of the transfer fee to Calafiori’s former club Basel - demanding €50m and refusing to lower that asking price.
Arsenal apparently want to include some add-ons in the deal, with Calafiori having made it clear that he wants to move to north London.

Serhou Guirassy issue flagged
Borussia Dortmund’s move for former Arsenal and Chelsea target Serhou Guirassy has hit a stumbling block.
During the striker’s medical, an issue has been discovered which has alerted the German club.
A statement read: “During a medical examination of Serhou Guirassy, an injury was discovered that requires further investigation.”

Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares is closing in on a move to Lazio, according to the Italian club’s sporting director.
Angelo Fabiani has revealed a deal is close for an initial loan deal that will be made permanent next summer for around £7million.
“[Tavares] is a player who interests Lazio a lot,” he told a press conference on Wednesday. “There have been talks between the two clubs for an agreement that was reached yesterday.
“Before completing the operation, however, many components must be agreed upon and an agreement must be found with the agents.
“I am more than confident, but for superstitious reasons I will not say that he is already a Lazio player.”

Basel chief confirms Chelsea deal
Basel have all-but confirmed Renato Veiga’s move to Chelsea.
The Blues have agreed to pay just under £12m for the Portugal youth international, who Basel did not want to sell but consider the offer too good to turn down.
Swiss club director Daniel Stucki told BZ Basel: “We had planned to keep him but, ultimately, the market decides.
“If there is a good offer, it would be difficult for the club to block a transfer. With his potential, he has a unique profile.”

Arsenal competition for Ferdi Kaidoglu
Juventus have entered the race to sign Ferdi Kadioglu.
The Turkey left-back impressed at Euro 2024 and reports from his home country have already claimed that a £15m bid from Arsenal has been rejected.
Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have also been named as keen but Juve hope to have an ace up their sleeve.
According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, new Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho is a fan of Weston McKennie and the American midfielder could be offered up as part of Juve’s bid for Kadioglu.
