With the focus now back on club football after the conclusion of Euro 2024 and the Copa America respectively, expect transfer talk to go into overdrive. Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has confirmed, are likely to be busy this summer and are closing in on the signing of Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford. There could, however, be more of a statement signing in the offing too, with the Gunners reportedly handed a boost in their pursuit of Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, but Barcelona could beat them to the signing of Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have already been busy this summer but remain on the hunt for a new striker. Now, their attentions are said to have turned to England’s hero of the semi-final in Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins, with Victor Osimhen still an option.
Manchester United have already signed Joshua Zirkzee and are pushing to seal a deal for Lille’s Leny Yoro, with it claimed a £52m fee has been agreed. Follow the latest transfer news, gossip and rumours including updates on Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham below!
