Transfer news – LIVE!
Pre-season is well underway and the transfer business is expected to ramp up in the days and weeks ahead, following the conclusion of Euro 2024 and the Copa America. Manchester United have been busy already this summer and only announced the signing of Leny Yoro earlier this week but could reportedly soon follow that up with the addition of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are closing in on a deal for Ajax’s highly-rated young goalkeeper Tommy Setford as they continue to track Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori. Reports now claim that the Gunners are still in the race to sign Spain star Nico Williams too, with the forward having a £47m release clause.
Chelsea could continue to strengthen this summer, too. A new striker is thought to be on the agenda and the Blues could seemingly turn back to former target Elye Wahi. Follow all the news gossip and rumours including updates on Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham below!

Arsenal update on Riccardo Calafiori talks as Bologna transfer chief goes public
Arsenal remain in pole position to sign Riccardo Calafiori despite talks over a summer move stalling, Bologna chairman Claudio Fenucci has suggested.
The Gunners want to sign a left-footed defender and the 22-year-old has emerged as a key target, however there remains a gap in valuation. Bologna want at least £42million but reports in Italy claim Arsenal have met to offer more than £34million.
Bologna's desire to get top dollar for their defender is in part driven by Calafiori's former club Basel being due half of any fee received.
Standard Sport understands Calafiori is keen on a move to Emirates Stadium and is attracted to the idea of working under Mikel Arteta.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has not yet made a decision on his future.
The goalkeeper is a Chelsea player again, having spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, and it remains to be seen whether he returns to Spain.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Kepa wants to secure a move to Real, but the club will only look to sign him if Andriy Lunin is sold.
Kepa is therefore waiting to see what happens with Lunin, ignoring a proposal from Al Ittihad for now.

Eddie Howe coy on Newcastle future
Eddie Howe has made it clear he wants to be backed by Newcastle if he is to remain at the club.
The Magpies boss has been strongly linked with the England job, after Gareth Southgate’s departure, and the 46-year-old was asked if would be in charge of Newcastle for their first game of the season.
“As long as I’m happy in the position that I’m in,” Howe replied.
“As long as I feel supported by the football club and free to work in the way that I want to work, yes. That is the crucial thing.
“I’m not talking about England. England is not even on my focus, it’s all about Newcastle, it has been all summer.
“I think England is a very special job for someone. I am very patriotic and I’m not ashamed to say that. I love my country.”
