Tottenham have announced their squad for the pre-season tour of Japan and Korea, with notable absentees Bryan Gil and Sergio Reguilon.
Both players were allowed to stay behind to explore potential transfer opportunities away from Spurs.
Sergio Reguilon has struggled to find a potential suitor for himself this summer with the only links coming from Manchester United, who are said to considering re-signing the Spanish defender.
Reguilon spent the first half of the season at Old Trafford as backup for the injured Luke Shaw, but upon his return from injury, his loan spell was cut short by the Red Devils. He then spent the second half of the season on loan at Brentford, where he impressed with four assists in 16 appearances.
With his contract set to expire next June, Spurs are eager to finalise a permanent transfer this summer to avoid losing the left-back for free next year.
Similarly, Bryan Gil is also looking for a move away from North London. The young winger made only 11 Premier League appearances last season, amassing just 201 minutes on the pitch.
Despite having two years remaining on his contract, Tottenham are open to parting ways with Gil as he is not a key part of manager Ange Postecoglou’s plans, who has several quality options to deploy on the wings.
Besides Gil and Reguilon, Fraser Forster also remains at Hotspur Way to continue his rehabilitation from a fractured foot.
Meanwhile the players who participated in the Euros and Copa America are on a break and will join the rest of the squad closer to the end of the pre-season.
