Victor Osimhen is once again making waves on the European football scene, serving as a stark reminder to Arsenal and Chelsea of his transfer potential. The Nigerian striker, who was previously linked with both London clubs during his time at Napoli, has been in fine form despite a high asking price that initially dampened interest.

Instead, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres became the focus for both clubs. Last summer, Osimhen was told to find a new club but failed to secure a move before the transfer window closed across most of Europe.

However, he was snapped up by Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal. Despite only netting four times since his move, Osimhen has played a crucial role in Galatasaray's rise to the top of the Turkish league and their strong start in the Europa League.

He scored in the major derby match against Besiktas last Monday, continuing his scoring streak. When Tottenham visited RAMS Park, Osimhen scored twice in the first half, helping his team to a 3-1 lead at half-time. Substitute Dominic Solanke reduced the arrears in the second half.

His first goal came after an error from Radu Dragusin, with Osimhen neatly finishing a first-time effort. His second followed shortly after, volleying home a cross from Dries Mertens.

The 25-year-old had four shots on target in the first half and also saw another effort ruled out. In just 45 minutes, Osimhen reminded everyone of his talent, a performance that could be pivotal in determining his future.

Upon leaving Naples for Turkey, he inked a new deal until 2027 that includes a break clause which can be activated in January and a new release clause believed to be around £66.6million. Compared to previous summers, Osimhen could now leave for half the price Napoli previously demanded.

Sesko and Gyokeres could cost in that region with recent revelations suggesting the latter may leave Sporting for as little as £50million.
