Everton were able to pick up three valuable points on the weekend in their game against Tottenham Hotspur.

David Moyes will have been delighted to get up and running on Merseyside after being appointed just over a week ago.

However, he may feel slightly disappointed to have seen two late goals conceded as Everton opened the door for Spurs.

There were some much improved performances out there at Goodison with Dominic Calvert-Lewin impressing the Everton fans.

The striker was able to score his first goal since September, but he was not the only player to have shown improved form.

David Moyes heard shouting at Everton’s Jesper Lindstrom

Leon Osman praised Jesper Lindstrom for his display against Spurs after earning a start under the 60-year-old manager.

It was a decision from Moyes which certainly paid off with the Danish midfielder putting in a real shift.

And he was being provided some real direction from Moyes on the sideline throughout the game.

In Sky Sports’ highlights of the game, Moyes can be heard shouting: “Go on, Jesper! Go on, Jesper!”

This was during the first half as the Scotsman was pushing for Lindstrom to press a Spurs midfielder before he eventually got the ball back and took aim.

Moyes was spotted talking privately with Lindstrom following his appointment, which some fans may have looked into.

And it already looks as if Moyes has been able to extract the best performance from the on-loan winger since he arrived in the summer.

Jesper Lindstrom showed why Everton should sign him

Moyes is planning on playing Lindstrom more frequently than he was played under Sean Dyche.

His display against the Lilywhites may have all but secured him his spot in the starting XI for the game against Brighton & Hove Albion on the weekend.

Although Lindstrom did impress against Spurs, he still has a long way to go before he has earned the right to become an Everton player permanently.
