Yves Bissouma Suffers Injury Ahead of Tottenham vs Arsenal

Tottenham have been dealt a major blow ahead of Sunday's North London derby clash with Arsenal after midfielder Yves Bissouma was taken off while on international duty due to injury.

The Mali international scored the opening goal of the game in their clash against Eswatini in the first-half, but limped off in the second half after 65 minutes following a heavy tackle, leaving his club side sweating over his potential fitness ahead of a huge Premier League clash this weekend.

Bissouma has been a regular under Ange Postecoglou since the Australian took over as manager in N17, but Bissouma was forced to miss a game earlier this season after being filmed inhaling nitrous-oxide from balloons, with the club suspending him for a game and the boss admitting that he needed to rebuild trust with the staff and players at the club.

Tottenham Dealt Major Injury Blow

Bissouma has been a regular in midfield

So far this season the Lilywhites have had a mixed start to the campaign having drawn 1-1 against newly-promoted Leicester City, thrashed Everton 4-0 before a disappointing defeat on the road against Newcastle United last time out.

Up next is local rivals and title challengers Arsenal, with fans desperate to get a win over their neighbours to put a dent in their pursuit of a first Premier League title since 2004 while also aiding their own club's push for Champions League football after narrowly missing out last season with a fifth-placed finish.

But it seems they may have to do it without their key midfielder Bissouma, after a heavy tackle saw him withdraw from the Mali lineup just after the hour mark on Tuesday afternoon. Bissouma has started two of the three Premier League games so far this season, with Pape Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur ahead of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall as options in the middle of the park.

Spurs had earlier been handed a boost ahead of the big clash on Sunday after Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was pictured on crutches after his own injury on international duty, putting into doubt his availability for the game for the visitors.

Bissouma, who has been described as "ridiculous" has been a key player in midfield for Spurs with his energy and quality on the ball, and could now be a huge miss for Tottenham if he is unable to recover in time.

GIVEMESPORT key statistic: Yves Bissouma has scored two goals and registered four assists in his Premier League career for Tottenham and Brighton, with 130 of his 165 appearances coming from the start.

Sergio Reguilon 'Ready to Go' Away from Spurs

Spaniard has interest from Turkey

A busy summer transfer window at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium saw several players come and go, but there was no deal for left-back Sergio Reguilon despite him not being in the manager's plans for the season.

The Spaniard, who joined the club in a deal worth up to £32million from Real Madrid, spent last season on loan at Manchester United and Brentford after being deemed surplus to requirements by Postecoglou, and that status hasn't changed.

However, Ben Jacobs has told GIVEMESPORT exclusively that while the left-back was "ready to go" elsewhere during the summer transfer window, Spurs held firm on their valuation and demands for a deal which meant no agreement could be found. The transfer window in Turkey is still open and there is interest in a potential loan deal, but it remains to be seen if a deal can be found before the September 13th deadline.

4 Ways Arsenal Can Line Up Without Odegaard, Rice & Merino vs Spurs

Description

With the north London derby on the horizon, Arsenal have a notable issue to solve. Indeed, Mikel Arteta will be without key midfield men, Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and Mikel Merino.

The Englishman will miss the trip to Tottenham Hotspur after picking up a controversial red card during the Gunners' 1-1 draw with Brighton, while summer signing Merino is yet to play for the club having suffered an injury in one of his first training sessions, and will be out for around two months in total. Adding to the problems. club captain Odegaard then suffered a twisted ankle for Norway during the week and has since been spotted on crutches.

As such, Arteta will need to work out which members of his squad will make up his midfield for the game against bitter rivals Spurs. With that in mind, here are three possible ways he could line up on Sunday.

First Possible Line-Up

Jorginho and Havertz in for stability

This would perhaps be the most conservative shout for Arteta. Essentially, Rice would be swapped out for Jorginho, although the Italian would be expected to play closer to Thomas Partey – as opposed to being box-to-box, as Rice often is when playing alongside the Ghanaian.

With these highly technical but not necessarily athletic players in the team, it would make sense to play Jurrien Timber at left-back ahead of Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Dutchman offers a little more robustness, as Wout Weghorst discovered during the international break. The other alternative would be Riccardo Calafiori, but the Italian is now a doubt after getting injured vs France.

Another change from the draw against Brighton would see Leandro Trossard come out of the starting XI and Gabriel Martinelli come in again. Although the Belgian is in far better form, the Brazilian offers the sort of speed that could wreak havoc on the Tottenham high line, and without Rice's legs in midfield and on the left side of the pitch, Arteta may prefer to have someone with more athletism on the pitch.

However, this setup would also rely on the fitness of Gabriel Jesus. He has yet to start this season and has spent the last two games out injured. But after the intentional break, he may be able to come back in, allowing Kai Havertz to drop into midfield to replace Odegaard – who would be tasked with duel-winning and providing goalscoring threat, as opposed to the creative stuff the Norway star usually does.

Second Possible Line-Up

Zinchenko in midfield

As mentioned before, with Italian Calafiori yet to start a game for the Gunners, it's far more likely Timber will get the nod for this game. The Dutch defender has shown a willingness to step centrally as an inverted fullback in games so far, but may be able to prioritise the defensive side of the game against Spurs.

Indeed, this could be the case if Zinchenko starts in midfield, playing alongside Jorginho and Partey, with Odegaard's more attacking role then abandoned. The former Man City man has never really played that role for the Gunners before, but often does for his country and this was his preferred position before being adapted to play as an invested left-back.

This midfield three would allow the team to play with more solidity while hoping the attacking players can still provide plenty of goal threat. Martinelli would be trusted again in this case, with his speed on the counter a bigger threat to the Tottenham defence. Havertz would lead the line, trying to hold up the ball with his physicality, while Bukayo Saka would be the danger man from his usual role out wide on the right.

Third Possible Line-Up

Saka in midfield, Sterling makes debut

This would be a bold call but there can be little doubting Saka's intelligence as a footballer. Combine this with his technical ability, and he could be the best man in the squad to learn on the job and take over from Odegaard. The winger has played centrally before, but very rarely – and more often on the left side.

The Englishman might not have the same delicate touches as his captain, but he could still cause plenty of threat, getting on the ball, dribbling past players, and bursting into space from a more central area.

This could also open up the space on the right flank for Raheem Sterling to make his debut. With the speed and athleticism of those two, there would be less need for Martinelli, meaning Trossard could come in. He could also rotate with Saka to come in centrally when needed and help in that area of the pitch. Partey and Jorginho would once again be asked to hold the fort at the base of midfield.

Fourth Possible Line-Up

Nwaneri's moment to shine

If Arteta wanted to throw caution to the wind and really take a chance, he could opt for this bold set-up Once again asking his players to line up in the preferred 4-3-3, he could put his faith in the supremely talented Ethan Nwaneri. The 17-year-old is viewed as the next big thing in north London and as the saying goes: 'If you are good enough, you're old enough.'

The likes of Jack Wilshere and Cesc Fabregas established themselves at a similar age, so this could be Nwaneri's chance to prove his wonderkid credentials. With Partey and Jorginho behind, and Saka, Havertz and Trossard in front, there would be plenty of experience around the youngster to help him through the occasion.

It would be a risky play from Arteta, but Nwaneri is probably the most like Odegaard in the whole squad, so it could be a more seamless transition than changing formation or more personnel. Regardless of formation, David Raya, Ben White, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes will have to be faultless to keep the door shut at the back.

Presenter Says Postecoglou Won't be at Tottenham Next Season

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou been given mixed reviews since his arrival, and presenter Will Brazier believes he might not be there by the end of the season.

Postecoglou's style of play is bound to split the opinion of the fanbase with the Australian manager focusing heavily on possession and playing a high-pressing game. Although the north London outfit saw signs of improvement last season, they once again failed to win a trophy and found themselves outside of the top four.

Daniel Levy hasn't been afraid to pull the trigger on managers - we've seen the likes of Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino, and Antonio Conte hired and fired - so Postecoglou will have to take his team to the next level this term.

Postecoglou Tipped to Leave Before Season Ends

Things need to improve at Tottenham

When asked by Mark Goldbridge who will finish higher in the Premier League this season, Manchester United or Tottenham, Brazier reacted by saying he doesn't expect either Postecoglou or Erik ten Hag to be with their respective clubs by the end of the campaign...

"I think the answer to that question is both of them won't have the managers that they've got now, and I worry for who Spurs would appoint next. There is growing noise within the Spurs camp that just with last season, the start of this season, the next run of games, if they get that wrong."

Speaking on the Back Pages podcast, journalist John Cross has also shared his concerns about Postecoglou, suggesting that the Australian manager is under pressure to perform with Spurs spending heavily in the summer transfer window.

Levy will be desperate to see his side competing in the Champions League once again, and it's fair to say he's dipped his hand in his pocket to back the manager. It's clear to see that the Tottenham players are buying into Postecoglou's ideas with their style being implemented last season, but he will be under pressure to deliver results.

In the summer, Spurs spent big on the likes of Dominic Solanke, Wilson Odobert, and Archie Gray. The north London outfit kept their key stars, so there's little excuse for Postecoglou not to take his side to the next level in the 2024/2025 campaign.

Tottenham Eyed Patrick Dorgu

Chelsea were also keen

According to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham explored a deal to sign Danish defender Patrick Dorgu during the summer transfer window. Chelsea were also said to be interested, with Lecce demanding a fee in the region of €35m for their young full-back.

The Premier League sides were put off by the price tag, but it will be interesting to see whether they explore a move once again in 2025. With his deal expiring in 2027, Lecce will be under no pressure to offload the youngster, but the interest from some of the biggest clubs in world football could turn his head.

Galatasaray ‘Test Waters’ for Tottenham's Ben Davies

Galatasaray are eyeing a late move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies as reports in Turkey claim the Super Lig giants are now ‘testing the waters’ for the 31-year-old’s arrival.

With the transfer window in Turkey still open until September 13, several Premier League stars have been linked with a potential move east, including Manchester United’s Casemiro and Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell.

Davies seems to be the latest name touted for a move to the Super Lig as Galatasaray are reportedly considering another defender’s arrival before the window slams shut on Friday this week.

With former Tottenham ace Davinson Sanchez already in their centre-back rotation, Davies could soon link up with the Colombian again, 12 months after he departed North London for Turkey.

The 28-year-old secured an early September move to Galatasaray a year ago, days after the transfer deadline had passed in England.

Amid an injury-hit season, Sanchez made only 17 starts for the Turkish giants in the league and could soon see competition for places heat up with Davies lined up among centre-back options.

Davies Linked with Spurs Exit

Galatasaray showing interest in the 31-year-old

Davies was linked with a Spurs exit back in May, when reports claimed Tottenham were ready to sanction the 31-year-old’s departure as he was deemed surplus to requirements by Ange Postecoglou.

Yet to feature for Tottenham in the new Premier League season, the Welsh defender has been a significant figure in the dressing room, but his time at the club could come to an end as soon as this week, with Galatasaray now showing interest.

With less than 12 months left on his current deal, the versatile defender, labelled 'outstanding' by Postecoglou, could soon become the latest outgoing in a busy three-month period for Tottenham, who managed to offload several unwanted names, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Emerson Royal.

Spurs’ departures have played a massive part in funding their summer spree, which saw the likes of Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray, and Lucas Bergvall arrive.

Since joining the club from Swansea in 2014 as part of a swap deal, Davies has made 330 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and registering 19 assists.

Last season, the 31-year-old made just 12 starts under Postecoglou in the Premier League and ended his campaign prematurely with a calf injury.

Reguilon ‘Had Options’ to Leave Spurs

Tottenham were tough on his exit terms

Tottenham outcast Sergio Reguilon had options to leave the club during the summer transfer period, journalist Ben Jacobs has exclusively revealed to GIVEMESPORT.

Spurs were reportedly ‘tough’ on the 27-year-old’s exit terms as they held out either for a permanent departure or a loan with an obligation to buy next summer.

Alongside Davies, Reguilon is also on an expiring deal in North London – his current agreement runs out in June 2025.

In July, the Spaniard was linked with a shock return to Manchester United, six months after the Red Devils cut short Reguilon’s stay in Manchester.

Hojbjerg Denmark Outing Shows Tottenham What They're Missing

Description

Tottenham Hotspur underwent yet another summer rebuild this time around as Ange Postecoglou continues to stamp his mark on the club in search of Champions League football - but whilst the majority of their incomings and outgoings have been beneficial, one transfer looks to be a potential mistake - with Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg earning rave reviews for his cultured performance for his nation in their 2-0 win over Serbia on Sunday.

Hojbjerg featured in all but two of Tottenham's Premier League games under Postecoglou last season, albeit just eight of those were starts - and with the Australian boss preferring other players alongside sanctioning youth deals this summer, Hojbjerg was sold to Marseille on a loan-with-obligation deal to signal the end of his four-year tenure in north London. And, whilst those in his place have fared well, the Dane showed Tottenham bosses just what they were missing in Denmark's 2-0 win over Serbia - with some reports stating that he 'ran the game' from the centre of the park.

National Media React to Hojbjerg Performance

The midfielder was in top form for Denmark over the weekend

Danish outlet Sportsdunia began with praise for the former Lilywhites man, stating that he 'ran the game' from the centre of the park against the beleaguered Serbian outfit - being the only player to complete 100 passes or more whilst also being proficient in his ball-winning for the Danes - and that he was a huge reason for dragging them to victory. The report stated:

"The only player on the night to complete passes in triple digits (100), making seven tackles as he ran the game for Denmark with his spatial intelligence, creativity and imperious ball control."

Next was a more light-hearted approach from Danish publication BT, who stated that the midfielder stressed them out enough to give them 'a few less hair follicles' after his 'absurd' misplaced pass, before praising him for 'humiliating' the Serbian outfit who were always second-best on the night. It read:

"We are a few hair follicles poorer after today, Pierre-Emile. One of the most beautiful attacks that Denmark has put together this year ended with an absurd mispass by the newly minted captain, who otherwise had all the time in the world. But we forget that when you go ahead and keep a cool head - and then humiliate the hot-tempered Swiss with a terrific 2-0 score! Well done."

And finally, the Marseille star received more of an academic praise from Ekstrabladet - with the publication stating that he produced a 'strong' effort and never let up in Denmark's second 2-0 win in just three days. It stated:

"Strong, strong effort. The captain was, as usual, excellent in his defensive actions, and on Sunday he laid it on by taking part in the offensive game with cutting passes forward in the field and aggressive pressing play."

Hojbjerg's Experience Could Have Been Paramount

The midfielder has been in fine form for his country recently

Whilst Postecoglou has opted for a younger midfield approach in the transfer market after confirming the signings of Djurgarden's Lucas Bergvall and Leeds United's Archie Gray this summer, sometimes you simply cannot beat experience and Hojbjerg is showing the Australian boss just what he is missing out on by coming up with leader's performances for his country.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made 254 Premier League appearances for Southampton and Tottenham - scoring 12 goals in the process.

Bergvall has appeared off the bench in each of Tottenham's three Premier League games so far this season, with Gray came on in two of those - and with Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and Papa Matar Sarr in the mix, it's a strong midfield quintet.

In another two to three years, the experience garnered by all five of his midfield quintet choices - should they stay - will be enough to really mark Tottenham's gravitas in the centre of the park. But for the time being, Hojbjerg would have brought immeasurable experience and if Spurs do struggle to stamp their mark on games this season, his departure could be rued.

Key Takeaways

Spurs have been blessed with some deadly finishers in their time.

Modern greats Jermain Defoe, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane all feature.

Club legends Martin Chivers and Jimmy Greaves also place highly.

Many consider Tottenham Hotspur to be one of the most storied clubs in England. Synonymous with attacking and goal scoring prowess, the club has, over the years, attracted some of the finest attacking talent in European football. From legends such as Jimmy Greaves and Harry Kane to the likes of Heung-Min Son, all showcasing their deadly finishing while donning the famed Tottenham Crest.

It would likely be considered quite a task to ascertain who would be regarded as the club's best finishers, especially with the club having such a plethora of attacking talent over its 142-year history. With that in mind, here are the 11 greatest finishers to pull on the famous Spurs jersey.

Career Span: 1983-2015

Teddy Sheringham shot to stardom upon his move to Tottenham Hotspur, having previously enjoyed a successful eight-year spell at Millwall and 12 months at Nottingham Forest, scoring 14 goals in 42 outings for the East Midlanders.

Sheringham went on to enjoy a wonderful five-year spell in North London, racking up 166 appearances and finding the back of the net on no less than 75 occasions. In 1997, he moved to Old Trafford but a return to Spurs in 2001 materialised for the fan favourite and he would represent the club a further 70 times, adding another 22 goals. Sheringham was not only a wonderful talent at club level, he was also a hugely important figure within the England camp, collecting 51 Caps and scoring on 11 occasions over nine years.

Career Span: 1957-1975

Alan Gilzean forged a fierce reputation as a goalscorer during his seven years at Dundee, notching an incredible 169 times in only 190 appearances. Many sides took notice of the goal-getter and it was Tottenham that added him to their ranks in 1964, where he would enjoy a glittering 10-year career.

Having been the primary scorer of goals back in Scotland, Gilzean found himself playing alongside Jimmy Greaves. This brought a different side to Gilzean's game, seeing him use his game intelligence and creativity, forming a wonderful partnership, a partnership that came to be known as the "G-Men". Gilzean managed 22 appearances for Scotland, scoring 12 goals.

Career Span - 1946-1962

Len Duquemin, also referred to as "The Duke", joined Tottenham in 1946, having made only one appearance for Colchester United. Tottenham was where he stayed for the next 11 years, becoming an integral part of the league-winning side of 1951. Duquemin was considered an incredibly hardworking and unselfish footballer, seeing him thrive in the 'kick and rush' style instilled by then-boss Arthur Rowe. The Duke's Tottenham career came to an end in 1957, when he decided to drop into non-league football, splitting four years between Bedford Town, Hastings United and Romford, Respectively, before finally retiring four years later.

Career Span: 2006-Present

South Korean superstar Son Heung-min has become a household name largely due to his exploits in both the Bundesliga and Premier League. It was 2008 when Heung-min made the brave decision to drop out of Dongbuk High School's football academy to pursue a move to the German outfit, Hamburger SV Youth Academy via the Korean FA Youth Project. In 2009, however, that Heung-min would formally join the Academy at Hamburger SV. The following year, his transition to first-team football took off. Son remained with Hamburger SV for three seasons, totalling 73 appearances and scoring on 20 occasions.

Interest was piqued in this exciting forward, and it was German giants, Bayer Leverkusen, that secured the Korean's signature. The next two years with Die Werkself firmly cemented Son's reputation as one of the Bundesliga's finest talents, becoming a fan-favourite en route to scoring 21 goals in 62 appearances.

Interest from further afield arrived, and in 2015, Tottenham agreed a deal to see the exciting forward move to London. Son's blend of speed, two-footed adaptability, ability to score goals and link-up play has seen him establish himself as one of the Premier League's Elite performers over the last nine years. Having thrived at club level, Son is an integral member of the South Korean National team, amassing 127 caps and 48 goals as of September 2024.

Career Span: 1929-1948

Yorkshireman George Hunt joined Chesterfield in 1929 where he appeared 14 times and scored nine goals. 1930 saw the start of his most prolific spell as he signed for Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of £1,500 and went on to make 185 appearances and score a remarkable 125 goals. Whilst his figures were impressive, it was his style of play that truly took him to the hearts of the Spurs supporters.

Blessed with blistering pace and great work ethic, it took no time for the supporters to make him a firm favourite in the stands. 1937 saw Hunt sign for bitter rivals Arsenal, a move that would only last a season, a season that saw him play 18 times and score on three occasions before he then moved on to Bolton Wanderers, where he remained for eight years. His professional career would come to an end following two years with Sheffield Wednesday. Hunt did get a taste of international football. However, he only managed three appearances and one goal, that goal coming in a 2-1 defeat to Scotland.

Career Span: 1999-2022

Former England International Jermain Defoe was a popular figure among fans wherever he played, having enjoyed a long career spanning 23 years. Defoe started to catch the eye with some impressive displays for Bournemouth, whilst on loan from West Ham, scoring 18 goals in 29 appearances. West Ham were quick to realise the talent on their hands and soon integrated the diminutive striker into their squad. He took little time to settle, and went on to score 29 times in 93 appearances for the Hammers.

Defoe's qualities were soon noted at various clubs in the Premier League, and it was Tottenham that secured his services for a deal worth up to £7million. It was here that he built his reputation within the Premier League, seeing 43 goals returned from 143 appearances. The summer arrival of Darren Bent in 2007 cast some doubts over Defoe's long-term future with the club and, sure enough, Defoe made a move to Portsmouth the following January.

The move would only last a season, but had a hugely successful return of 15 goals in 31 games. He would return to White Hart Lane, to pick up another 135 appearances and notching a further 47 times before moving on to Toronto FC. Defoe's intelligent movement, quick feet and eye for goal saw him receive international recognition too, earning 57 caps and scoring on 20 occasions.

Career Span: 1952-1971

Winger Cliff Jones was famed for his fantastic pace and his ability to cut inside from wide positions. The Welshman began his career with Swansea City, where he wowed supporters with his blistering performances. Jones enjoyed a six-year spell with the club before Tottenham came knocking. Spurs signed the exciting winger in a then record deal worth £35,000.

There was no looking back for Jones, going on to represent the club 318 times and notching a fantastic 135 times. Such form was being recognised overseas, seeing Juventus offer an unprecedented £125,000 in 1962, which was swiftly rejected. 1968 saw Jones' time with Tottenham come to an end, with a move to Fulham being completed. He went on to make 25 appearances in two seasons, scoring two goals. Jones became a full international after making only 25 appearances for Swansea. He went on to achieve 59 caps for Wales, with a goal return of 16.

Career Span: 1962-1983

Martin Chivers or "Big Chiv" as he was also affectionately known, was a pacey and powerful striker who went on to become the star-man for Tottenham in the early 1970's. The Tottenham journey would come after an impressive spell with south coast outfit, Southampton, for whom he appeared 175 times with an impressive goal return of 96.

It was his move to north London that transformed the player, as he was about to begin a fantastic journey with his new club, a journey that saw the club win 2 League Cups and a UEFA Cup. Chivers was a huge reason for the club's success during the early '70's, cementing his name as one of the club's greats. Chivers was a Tottenham player for eight years, making 278 appearances and scoring 118 goals, before moving to Switzerland with Servette. Chivers was capped by England on 24 occasions and scored 13 goals for his country.

Career Span: 1950-1967

Bobby Smith was typically described as the classic old-fashioned centre forward. The striker made history with Spurs but it was with rivals Chelsea that he initially made his name. The striker spent five years with the Blues, a spell that saw him score 23 times in 74 appearances. Tottenham made their move in 1955, signing him in an £18,000 deal.

Smith became a huge figure in Spurs achieving a famous League and Cup double, scoring 33 goals in his 43 appearances across the season. Smith went on to have further success with Tottenham, retaining the FA Cup and then, in 1963, winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. Smith represented England 15 times, scoring 13 goals.

Career Span: 1957-1980

Jimmy Greaves, considered by some to be the greatest ever English striker. Greaves was a classic goal-poacher with an exceptional first touch. He first made his name with Chelsea, appearing 157 times and scoring 124 goals in a four-year period. It was at Tottenham, though, that he really flourished and ensured he would forever be considered one of England's greatest ever finishers.

Greaves went on to make 321 appearances with a goal return of 220 in his nine-year stay. The World Cup winner would end his Tottenham affair with a move to West Ham in 1970, where he would remain for only one season, scoring 13 goals in 38 games. Jimmy Greaves' remarkable goal return was not exclusively reserved for domestic football, boasting 57 England Caps, scoring an impressive 44 times.

Career Span: 2009-Present

Harry Kane is one of the greatest Premier League strikers of all time. Heralded as one of the best forwards of his generation, the England man currently plies his trade in the Bundesliga with German giants, Bayern Munich, following his transfer in 2023.

His story begins back in London, however, with a long and goal-laden journey with Tottenham, the club where he truly made his name.

Kane joined Watford following an unsuccessful trial with Tottenham and performed well, well enough to convince Spurs to bring him back into their youth set-up. Kane would enjoy many loan moves to clubs such as Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City, respectively.

However, it was the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino that would change everything for the young hopeful. Pochettino soon made the young striker a regular feature in the starting eleven and the England man never looked back. Kane went on to appear for Tottenham 317 times, scoring a phenomenal 213 goals, making him the club's greatest goalscorer. Kane didn't only impress for his club, but he has seen 98 England caps return 66 goals.

£32M Tottenham Star Was 'Ready to go' This Summer

Tottenham Hotspur outcast Sergio Reguilon will be hoping a move away from the club materialises over the next week, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

A number of fringe players have departed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the last few months, including Oliver Skipp, Emerson Royal, Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. However, a departure is yet to materialise for left back Reguilon, who has not featured for the club since April 2022.

The 27-year-old has just one year left on his deal with Spurs, having joined the club from Real Madrid back in 2020 in a deal worth up to £32million. He has since had loan spells with Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford in recent seasons and is not part of Ange Postecoglou's plans.

Reguilon is ‘ready’ for loan move

He hasn’t featured for Spurs since 2022

According to Jacobs, Reguilon was close to completing a loan move to Lille, but a deal fell through due to Tottenham’s demands. He must now await clarification over his future with some leagues still able to complete transfers, including teams in Turkey.

The transfer window in Turkey closes on Friday, September 13 having initially opened back in June. It has been claimed Reguilon will be hopeful a deal can be agreed in the closing days.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT exclusively:

“I think he'll be quite picky with his next move, but Reguilon was ready to go to Lille on loan. It's just the fact that Tottenham were very tough on their terms, and were pushing for that loan to have either an obligation or, at worst, a suitable buy option.

“That was too high for Lille to agree with, and therefore he ended up going nowhere. So like many, many players now looking for last minute summer moves, Reguilon will be looking at the Turkish market and hoping that something materialises.

"But if it doesn't, then he'll sit tight at Spurs with the belief that, like Djed Spence, there might be an unlikely way back into the first team.”

Tottenham ‘eyeing’ Danish full back

They could face competition from across Europe

Tottenham are among the clubs keeping a watchful eye on Danish defender Patrick Dorgu, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 19-year-old scored on his international debut earlier this week against Switzerland as he continues to attract the attention of teams across the continent.

According to HITC, Spurs are one of the clubs monitoring his progress as his reputation grows. Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have also been named as potential destinations for the Lecce defender.

Dorgu joined the Serie A side from Danish club Nordsjaelland last summer, and he’s had a positive impact in Italy so far. He remains under contract with Lecce until 2027, having signed a four-year deal upon his arrival 12 months ago.

The article claims Spurs’ interest in Dorgu has likely come about due to the fact Ben Davies’ contract is set to expire next summer and they will likely require competition for Destiny Udogie in the left back position.

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea were keen on signing Danish full back Patrick Dorgu during the summer transfer window but were put off by the price, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

It was a busy summer for Ange Postecoglou’s side as they made a handful of new additions, including former Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke. Leeds United’s Archie Gray and Burnley’s Wilson Odobert were also among the new arrivals as several first-team stars moved on.

The north London club bid farewell to a number of players on free transfers, including Ryan Sessegnon and Eric Dier. Oliver Skipp was the biggest outgoing as he joined Leicester City, while Emerson Royal moved to AC Milan for around €15million.

Spurs and Chelsea ‘considered’ Dorgu move

He was also wanted by Chelsea

Spurs explored a deal for Danish defender Dorgu from Serie A side Lecce over the summer, according to Romano. The journalist claims the full back was on their shortlist ahead of a possible move, but the price proved to be a stumbling block.

He claims Lecce demanded a fee in the region of €35million for the 19-year-old, so talks didn’t advance any further. Chelsea were also reportedly in the mix, although he would have signed for Strasbourg, who are also owned by BlueCo.

Dorgu began his career in his homeland Denmark, before he joined Lecce’s academy on loan for the 2022/23 season. The move was made permanent at the end of the campaign, and he made the step up to the Italian club’s first team.

He signed a long-term contract with Lecce upon his arrival, and his current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2027. He made his senior debut for the Denmark national team earlier this week, and scored in the 2-0 win over Switzerland.

Spurs dealt blow ahead of Europa League opener

They will be without one key player

Elsewhere, Postecoglou has been handed a selection headache ahead of his side’s Europa League opener against Qarabag at the end of this month. Defender Cristian Romero will serve a one-game suspension for a red card received back in the 2022/23 campaign.

The 26-year-old was given his marching orders in Spurs’ Champions League last 16 clash against AC Milan back in March 2023. He received a second booking with a little over 10 minutes left to play, but because Spurs were eliminated, he never served the one-game suspension.

Tottenham didn’t qualify for European competition in 2023/24, but they will return to the European stage in the Europa League this season. Bans do have a two-year limit, but because it’s only been one season, it has not been scrapped on this occasion, meaning the Premier League side will be required to navigate their opening game without him.

£32m Tottenham Star ‘Had Options’ for Summer Exit

Tottenham Hotspur outcast Sergio Reguilon had options to leave the club during the summer transfer window, but Spurs were ‘tough’ on the terms of his exit, journalist Ben Jacobs has exclusively revealed to GIVEMESPORT.

The North London club’s stance reportedly ‘made it very difficult’ to resolve the Spaniard’s situation, as they held out for either a permanent departure or a loan with an obligation to buy next summer.

Reguilon, who spent last season on loan at Manchester United and Brentford, is one of the last remaining outcasts at Tottenham and has less than 12 months left on his current deal.

In July, the 27-year-old was linked with a return to Old Trafford, months after the Red Devils cut his loan short in January, but rumours never materialised and Reguilon stayed beyond the transfer deadline.

Aside from the Spaniard, Tottenham have done an impressive job offloading fringe players this summer, with the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Emerson Royal, and Oliver Skipp departing and helping the club raise funds for new arrivals.

Spurs Were ‘Tough’ on Reguilon’s Exit

With less than 12 months left on his deal

Speaking exclusively to GMS, Jacobs revealed that Tottenham were ‘quite tough’ on Reguilon’s exit terms, resulting in him failing to secure a summer move away from North London:

“I think the Reguilon situation is very interesting at Tottenham, because he had options during the course of the European window, but Tottenham were quite tough on terms.

“And it made it very difficult to resolve the Reguilon situation, which has been throughout the window, frayed more around a loan than a permanent deal, albeit a loan with an option, potentially, or from Spurs’ point of view, an obligation, if they can get it.”

Not a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans for a second season in a row, Reguilon last featured for Spurs in April 2022 in a 1-0 defeat to Brighton under Antonio Conte.

Alongside defender Djed Spence, the Spaniard was recently left out of Tottenham’s squad for the Europa League group stage, as Spurs could only list 23 players instead of the maximum 25 due to a lack of club-trained options.

Reguilon arrived in North London from Real Madrid in 2020 in a deal worth up to £32million and has made only 67 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring two goals and registering eight assists.

With the Turkish transfer window open until September 13, the 27-year-old could soon be offered an escape route from Tottenham, with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce rumoured to be interested.

The Portuguese tactician, who initially brought Reguilon to Spurs four seasons ago, is now reportedly eyeing a late loan swoop for the left-back.

Tottenham Eye Angel Gomes

As a free transfer in 2025

Tottenham are reportedly eyeing a move for Lille star Angel Gomes on a free transfer in 2025, according to HITC.

The North Londoners are interested in acquiring the former Manchester United player, who is out of contract in less than 12 months.

According to HITC, the 24-year-old does not currently plan on extending his stay in Lille and could depart four seasons after joining the club from the Red Devils in 2020.

Tottenham Interested in 'Amazing' £68m Star

Tottenham Hotspur are still full of appreciation for Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

Spurs were among those credited with an interest in the England international during the summer transfer window but never presented a formal bid, much to the surprise of Eagles chairman Steve Parish.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he revealed his shock that none of the rival clubs explored a deal for Eze this summer, saying he was ‘genuinely astounded’.

After losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, Palace managed to fend off interest from Premier League clubs in both Eze and Marc Guehi, who was linked with a late move to Newcastle United.

According to Romano, no club triggered Eze’s release clause or entered concrete negotiations over his move, despite reports linking him with almost every top-six side over the summer.

The 26-year-old has so far played every minute of Palace’s season, making four appearances across all competitions, scoring and assisting once and his style of play has seen him described as "a superstar".

Man City Had Eze on the List

In the 2023 summer window

Romano, writing in his Daily Briefing, revealed that Manchester City were among the clubs interested in Eze in 2023 and had the English midfielder on their shortlist:

“No club did trigger the release clause and there were no concrete contacts so in the end, that was the reason he remained at Selhurst Park.

“Man City for sure had him on their list in 2023, and it’s true that Tottenham appreciate him, but there was never any formal bid presented from either club or any other this summer.

“As Steve Parish said, everything was quiet.”

A crucial player for Oliver Glasner, Eze has become one of the most potent forward-thinking players in the Premier League since his arrival at Selhurst Park in 2020.

In his four full seasons at Palace, the 26-year-old made 127 appearances across all competitions, scoring 27 goals and registering 17 assists.

Eze was instrumental in Palace’s top 10 push last campaign as he formed a deadly front three with Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta, contributing to 15 goals in 27 Premier League outings.

According to MailOnline, Eze’s release clause of £68m, which expired just before the new season, will re-activate next year, at the end of the 2024/25 campaign which should see a rush for his signature should he have another season like he did last time out.

Tottenham Eye Move for Angel Gomes

Could be available on a free in 2025

Tottenham are eyeing a free transfer for Lille midfielder Angel Gomes in 2025, according to HITC.

Spurs are reportedly keen on adding the Manchester United academy graduate to their squad after the season, with his current deal set to expire in less than 12 months.

The 24-year-old has recently earned his maiden call-up to the senior England national team under interim manager Lee Carsley and is set to feature in the upcoming Nations League clashes.

According to HITC, the 24-year-old currently does not plan on extending his contract with Lille and is keen to depart for a new challenge after four seasons in France.
