Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims there is a ‘90 percent’ chance Giovani Lo Celso leaves Tottenham this summer.

The midfielder has been linked with Aston Villa and Real Betis.

Lo Celso is about to enter the final year of his current contract at Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has a ‘90 percent’ chance of leaving the club this summer, journalist Fabrizio Romano has told GIVEMESPORT.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou will hope to build on his squad this summer after a positive first campaign in the dugout. The Australian manager was appointed 12 months ago and guided his team to a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last term.

Among the goals next season will be a return to the top four and Champions League football. Spurs last finished in the qualification places in the 2021/22 season, but in the following campaign, they finished outside the European spots entirely.

Lo Celso Likely to Leave Spurs

The midfielder has a year remaining on his contract

According to Romano, Lo Celso is likely to depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer after five years at the club, which includes two loan spells back in La Liga. The 28-year-old initially joined Spurs on loan from Real Betis for the 2019/20 season and the move was made permanent for £27m at the end of the campaign.

In total, Lo Celso made over 100 appearances for the North London club across all competitions and scored 10 goals in total. However, after falling out of favour, the Argentina international joined Villarreal on loan for the second half of the 2021/22 season and then the entirety of 2022/23.

Now, it seems he could depart on a permanent basis with a report from talkSPORT claiming the club have offered him as part of a player plus cash offer to Aston Villa for Jacob Ramsey. However, Romano indicates Villa will not be the only club in the race for Lo Celso, with the player’s former club also in the mix.

He told GiveMeSport:

“For Lo Celso, it’s a different story. I see Lo Celso leaving Tottenham in the summer transfer window. I think there is a 90 percent chance he leaves and there is interest from Real Betis.”

Tottenham to ‘Push’ for England Star

He is currently representing the Three Lions at Euro 2024

Elsewhere, Tottenham are reportedly ready to ‘push’ for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze once he returns from international duty with England at Euro 2024. According to The Times, Spurs have not been put off by the player’s release clause, which stands at £60million, and they are confident of fending off competition from several Premier League clubs to land his signature.

Eze was a surprise inclusion in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euros in Germany this summer and was among the players to displace the long-serving Marcus Rashford in the team. Despite winning just one of their group games, England progressed to the knockout stages top of their group and will take on Slovakia in the round of 16 over the weekend.

The 25-year-old winger was involved in the Three Lions’ 1-1 draw with Denmark last week, although it is his form for Crystal Palace that has caught the attention of potential suitors. Eze joined from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 and has become an integral player at Selhurst Park throughout his four years at the club so far.

Eze signed a contract extension with Palace in November last year and his current deal runs until the summer of 2027. He is one of two Palace stars attracting the attention of rival clubs, as teammate Michael Olise is expected to move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Highlights

Aston Villa are interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

Villa are currently focused on finalising the deal for Ross Barkley, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Unai Emery could reunite with Lo Celso for the third time in his career.

Aston Villa are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, journalist Fabrizio Romano has told GIVEMESPORT.

The Villans are eyeing the 28-year-old this summer as Unai Emery knows Lo Celso well from his stints at Paris Saint-Germain and Villarreal.

However, Romano suggests Villa are currently focused on finalising the deal for Luton Town star Ross Barkley, who looks to return to the Premier League after a promising last season.

Emery is reportedly ‘a big fan’ of Barkley, who revitalised his career at Luton despite the club suffering relegation back to the Championship.

The 30-year-old is set to return to Villa Park after three years – in the 2020-21 season, Barkley joined the club on loan from Chelsea and played a key role in Dean Smith’s side.

Romano suggests that Villa will decide on Lo Celso only after Barkley’s arrival – at the moment, talks between clubs are not advanced over the Argentinian’s transfer.

Lo Celso found little playing time under Ange Postecoglou last season – the attacking midfielder returned from Villarreal last summer with hopes he could impress the new boss.

The 28-year-old played just 494 minutes of Premier League football under Postecoglou, contributing four goals in 22 appearances.

Lo Celso Talks Yet to Advance

Villa are waiting for Ross Barkley

Romano, speaking to GMS, revealed that Villa are yet to advance in talks for Lo Celso this summer:

“There is interest also from other clubs around Europe, including Villa, because Unai Emery knows the player so well.

“But at the moment, the focus of Villa in that position is on Ross Barkley, who is expected to join the club from Luton Town, and then we will see if they will decide to enter into conversations for Lo Celso. At the moment, [there's] still nothing advanced.”

Lo Celso, who first joined Tottenham in August 2019 on loan from Real Betis, impressed under Mauricio Pochettino before Spurs eventually decided to sign him on a permanent £27m deal after the season.

After his first start in 2019, Lo Celso went on to make 108 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and registering eight assists.

Villa boss Unai Emery could be reuniting with Lo Celso - described as being a "magnificent" player by Sevilla president Jose Castro - for the third time in his managerial career – the Argentinian played under Emery at PSG for two seasons and scooped a domestic treble in 2017-18.

The 28-year-old also enjoyed a successful six-month loan to Villarreal in 2022, where Emery was also in charge before taking the Villa job.

Tottenham Linked with Eberechi Eze

Crystal Palace fear the 25-year-old could leave

Tottenham are keeping tabs on Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze as the Eagles ‘fear’ the 25-year-old could follow Michael Olise out the door, GMS sources have revealed.

After a successful end to the season, Roy Hodgson’s side are keen to retain their core of stars, but exits have already commenced as Olise looks set to join Bayern Munich this summer.

According to GMS sources, Tottenham are among the clubs interested in Eze this summer, but there are ‘question marks’ over whether the north Londoners can afford his £60million release clause this summer.

Tottenham are interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey, but are yet to present a formal bid.

Villa aim to keep Ramsey ahead of their debut Champions League campaign.

Spurs eye Kyle Walker-Peters as a new right-back amid Emerson Royal's departure rumors.

Tottenham Hotspur have held talks over signing Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey but are yet to present a formal bid for the 23-year-old, Fabrizio Romano has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.

While Spurs are looking to add the homegrown midfielder to their roster, Romano suggests Villa will ‘do their best’ to keep Ramsey this summer.

Unai Emery’s side have already sold Douglas Luiz to Juventus and are unwilling to lose another key player in the transfer window.

Despite reports suggesting Spurs have bid £20million plus Giovani Lo Celso for Ramsey recently, Romano suggests that both clubs only held talks a few weeks ago.

Villa reportedly value their 23-year-old academy product at around £45million – he is considered a crucial player next season as the club aim to keep their core ahead of their debut Champions League campaign.

An impressive Premier League campaign saw Emery’s side finish fourth in the table, allowing them to manoeuvre in the transfer market again after selling Luiz and successfully navigating Profit and Sustainability Rules compliance.

Therefore, Villa are not under pressure to sell any of their current players – Romano suggests a deal for Ramsey will not be an easy one to seal for Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou Eyes New Midfielder

Aston Villa keen to keep Ramsey

Romano, speaking to GMS, suggested that Tottenham are yet to present an official bid for Ramsey - described as a future "big, big player" by Villa manager Unai Emery - this summer:

“What I heard is that this was a story from probably end of May, beginning of June, when they started a conversation. But it was just a conversation, not a formal bid from Tottenham to sign Ramsey.

“So the interest is there, but that's it, at the moment. I think Aston Villa will do their best to keep the player at the club, they already sold Douglas Luiz, so it's not going to be an easy one for Tottenham.”

After qualifying for the Europa League last season under Ange Postecoglou, Spurs are keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of the Australian’s second season in charge.

Tottenham are yet to bring in a natural replacement for their star striker Harry Kane, who departed 12 months ago, as they found inspiration in Son Heung-min and Richarlison, last season’s top scorers.

Ramsey’s injury history, however, could be a point of concern for Tottenham – last season, the 23-year-old appeared in just 16 league games for Villa and is currently recovering from a toe injury.

Spurs’ interest in Ramsey is reportedly driven by their recruitment director Johan Lange, who worked at Villa before joining Tottenham last year.

A key player for Villa in previous seasons, Ramsey now looks to regain his form ahead of a historic campaign for the club as they compete in the Champions League for the first time ever.

Spurs Eye Walker-Peters Return

After four years at Southampton

Tottenham are interested in bringing back Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters, GMS sources have revealed.

The 27-year-old is understood to be a cheaper option this summer compared to Monaco’s Vanderson and Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are eyeing a new right-back amid rumours over Emerson Royal’s departure – Spurs reportedly want £20 million for the Brazilian as AC Milan show interest.

Highlights

Tottenham Hotspur are seriously considering allowing Jamie Donley to go out on loan after he has been pinpointed as a target by numerous sides.

Newly-promoted Championship outfit Oxford United are among the latest interested parties hoping to strike a deal for the teenager.

Ange Postecoglou will not entertain cashing in on Donley as he has been dubbed the next Harry Kane after shining at youth level.

Tottenham Hotspur are tempted to send up-and-coming frontman Jamie Donley out on loan after newly-promoted Championship side Oxford United became the latest outfit to show an interest in landing the Hotspur Way academy graduate ahead of the new season, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou will not be short of attacking options during the fast-approaching 2024/25 campaign after wasting no time in negotiating a fresh loan deal which will see Timo Werner rejoin from RB Leipzig in an agreement which includes an £8.5million option to buy.

Lucas Bergvall will also link up with his new teammates for the first time when members of the Tottenham squad return for pre-season in the coming weeks, having made the move from Djurgardens after snubbing Barcelona's advances, but outgoings are expected ahead of the transfer window slamming shut on August 30.

Spurs Seeking Assurances Before Allowing Donley Move

North Londoners cautious over teenager's destination

Tottenham are open-minded about sanctioning Donley's loan departure, according to GMS sources, but they will be cautious when it comes to deciding his landing spot as they are desperate to ensure that he will only seal a temporary move if there is a clear pathway for regular game time during the 2024/25 campaign.

The 19-year-old, who made his first four senior appearances for Spurs during Postecoglou's first term in the hot-seat, is on course to spend time away from his boyhood club for the first time as a number of suitors are keen to offer the chance to continue his development elsewhere.

GMS sources have been informed that Oxford, who are preparing for their first season in the second tier for 25 years after overcoming Bolton Wanderers in the League One play-off final last month, are among the newer interested parties keeping an eye on his situation before potentially pouncing.

The second striker has not been short of admirers ahead of the fast-approaching new season, with a host of Football League clubs prepared to offer a route out of Tottenham for months, but Spurs are waiting to be convinced where he has the best chance of building on his impressive form at youth level.

Donley is highly-rated by Postecoglou, chairman Daniel Levy and other key personnel in north London, having chalked up 70 goal contributions in various age groups for the Lilywhites, and his current employers are in a strong position ahead of potential negotiations as he still has three years remaining on his contract.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Jamie Donley averaged a goal every 293 minutes during the 2023/24 Premier League 2 campaign thanks to finding the back of the net six times over the course of 20 appearances

Postecoglou Unwilling to Sell Donley

Academy graduate has been likened to Kane

Although Tottenham are refusing to rule out the possibility of sanctioning Donley's temporary exit, GMS sources have learned that Postecoglou will not entertain cashing in as there is belief that he is a future starter for the senior squad after gaining comparisons to legendary frontman Harry Kane.

It is thought that the Lilywhites would be able to secure a significant fee if they made a U-turn on their stance ahead of the transfer deadline as Aston Villa youngster Omari Kellyman is on the verge of joining Chelsea for £19million, having previously featured in the same under-19 set-up as the teenager.

GMS sources have been told that many in the game consider Donley to be more of a guarantee to fulfil his potential at the very top level than the Stamford Bridge-bound youngster, while he also showed glimpses of what he can offer when he was handed limited first-team minutes during the 2023/24 campaign.

Although Tottenham are willing to offload their youth product on a temporary basis, Djed Spence is in danger of being forced to remain in his current surroundings as GMS sources recently revealed that the capital club have priced him out of a return to Serie A side Genoa after they refused to lower their demands.

Tottenham are considering signing Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters this summer.

The 27-year-old is understood to be a cheaper option compared to Vanderson and Lutsharel Geertruida.

Tottenham are reportedly eyeing Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite and could potentially hijack a Man United deal.

Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to show interest in signing Kyle Walker-Peters as Ange Postecoglou’s side eye a new right-back this summer, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Spurs are considering multiple options as they look to bring in a backup for Pedro Porro in the midst of Emerson Royal’s departure rumours.

GMS sources understand that Tottenham are willing to reunite with Walker-Peters this summer after selling him to Southampton in 2020.

The London side have also been looking at Monaco defender Vanderson, but his price tag of around £34million is slightly off-putting at the moment, according to GMS sources.

Tottenham are keen to find the best value option to come off the bench and are unwilling to spend a big chunk of their transfer budget on a backup defender.

Therefore, Spurs are unlikely to compete with Liverpool for Lutsharel Geertruida’s signature, despite recent reports linking him with a move to the English capital.

Tottenham Consider Walker-Peters Return

A low-cost option for Spurs

Tottenham consider Walker-Peters a ‘good low-cost option’ as they look to bring in a backup right-back this summer, GMS sources have revealed.

The 27-year-old is understood to be cheaper than both Vanderson and Geertruida this summer as Spurs are keen to repeat last year’s clever business when they signed Micky van de Ven for just £43million from Wolfsburg.

A Spurs academy graduate, Walker-Peters would count towards the home-grown player lists, but GMS sources suggest he still has to be convinced of his role in the squad, GMS sources have suggested.

The Englishman - described as being a "beautiful footballer" by manager Russell Martin - could be made available by Southampton soon as the club are eyeing a new right-back ahead of their Premier League return and are tipped as ‘the most likely destination’ for AZ defender Yukinari Sugawara.

Saints boss Martin is pushing to bring in defensive reinforcements after achieving promotion and has now reportedly made the move to land the Japan international this summer.

Tottenham Eye Jarrad Branthwaite

Could hijack Man United move

Tottenham could hijack Manchester United’s move for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, former Spurs defender Alan Hutton has suggested.

While United are unwilling to meet Everton’s £70million valuation for Branthwaite, Spurs could capitalise on the Red Devils’ failed attempt and lure Branthwaite to London.

According to Hutton, ‘a few things in the pipeline’ could lead Spurs to pursue a deal for Branthwaite this summer, including a potential Cristian Romero exit.

Earlier this month, Branthwaite agreed personal terms with Manchester United, but the Red Devils are unlikely to come back with another offer for the Englishman if Everton stick to their current price tag.

The 21-year-old had an excellent Premier League campaign last season, helping Everton avoid relegation despite multiple point deductions.

Tottenham 'Could Hijack' Man Utd Move For Branthwaite

Tottenham 'Could Hijack' Man Utd Move For Branthwaite - GIVEMESPORT

Highlights

Alan Hutton believes Tottenham could possibly hijack Manchester United's move for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

Branthwaite's successful season has attracted interest from multiple clubs, with United having had a £35 million rejected for the player.

Spurs are also looking to make offensive acquisitions this summer, with Tammy Abraham emerging as a target.

Tottenham could hijack Manchester United's move for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, according to former Spurs defender Alan Hutton.

Branthwaite enjoyed an excellent 2023/24 season, making 41 appearances across all competitions as the Toffees finished 15th in the Premier League, comfortably avoiding relegation despite a points deduction. This excellent campaign has sparked interest from a host of clubs, with reports last week emerging that United have had a £35 million bid for the England international rejected.

While United are expected to revisit the deal with an improved offer, Hutton revealed to Football Insider that his sources have told him that Tottenham could capitalise on the Red Devils' failed offer and make a move themselves.

Hutton: Spurs Want to Sign Branthwaite

Postecoglou wants to bolster his defence

After a successful loan spell at PSV Eindhoven, Branthwaite burst onto the scene in English football last season, thriving in a Sean Dyche side that survived in the Premier League after the significant adversity inflicted on them by an eight-point deduction. This form earned the 21-year-old a place in Gareth Southgate's provisional squad for the Euros, and although he was ultimately cut from the final ensemble, the defender is still in high demand among top clubs.

While Branthwaite is reportedly 'keen' to join Manchester United and has agreed personal terms with the north-west club, little movement has occurred since having an initial bid rejected, and Hutton believes his former club could be set to hijack the United deal. Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton said:

"I feel at times [Tottenham] have been light in that sense, actually across the back four. When you look at their starting back line, if any of them get injured or go missing for a good length of time, the players that come in aren’t quite up to the standard.

"To have someone in the door with that potential who could be a regular starter for England moving forward, that could be a great deal. He did really well last season, and there are talks [Cristian] Romero could be on the move, so there’s a few things in the pipeline that might lead towards them going for someone like [Branthwaite], and him filling that void at centre-half. I have heard there could be a hijack there, from people I speak to at the club.”

Given the intense nature of the speculation linking the starlet to United, news of a potential Spurs hijacking may come as a surprise. However, given Spurs conceded 61 goals last summer, Ange Postecoglou is likely to be after defensive reinforcements in the transfer window, and Branthwaite has been identified as one of the hottest central defensive prospects on the market.

Spurs Chasing Abraham

The north London club want more competition up front

As well as acquiring defensive reinforcements this summer, adding quality and depth to their forward areas is also a primary concern for Postecoglou this summer. Sources close to the north London club have indicated to GIVEMESPORT that former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has been identified as a target, with the Australian head coach seeing the Roma man as an ideal candidate to compete with the likes of Richarlison and Son Heung-Min.

After suffering from a crucial ligament injury, Abraham made just eight appearances in Serie A last season. However, the Englishman has a track record of scoring goals in the Premier League, netting 15 times in the division in the 2019/20 campaign for the Blues.

Exclusive: Djed Spence 'at Risk of Being Priced Out' of Tottenham Exit - GIVEMESPORT
Description

Highlights

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Djed Spence is unlikely to seal a permanent switch to Genoa after his current employers decided against lowering their asking price.

The 23-year-old has been firmly on the Serie A outfit's radar after enjoying a fruitful loan spell at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium during the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.

Genoa have turned their attentions elsewhere due to being unable to tempt Tottenham into accepting a summer bid as low as £6million.

Tottenham Hotspur star Djed Spence is at risk of having his hopes of securing a permanent move away from Hotspur Way blocked as Genoa are threatening to pull out of the running for his signature after discussions over a switch have broken down, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Spurs have been busy since the campaign reached its climax last month as a fresh loan deal has been agreed with RB Leipzig - which includes an £8.5million option to buy - to ensure Timo Werner will remain among boss Ange Postecoglou's attacking options heading into next term.

The agreement came despite Lucas Bergvall already being set to join from Djurgardens, after the Swedish teenager snubbed additional interest from Barcelona during the early stages of the year, but chairman Daniel Levy and technical director Johan Lange are also looking to oversee departures.

Spurs Refusing to Lower Demands for Spence

Right-back increasingly unlikely to return to Genoa

Spence is in danger of being forced to remain at Tottenham, according to GMS sources, as it is increasingly likely that a permanent switch to Genoa is no longer on the cards due to his current employers deciding to refuse to lower their demands during the early stages of the transfer window.

The 23-year-old right-back had a productive loan spell with the Serie A side after heading to the Luigi Ferraris Stadium during the winter, making 16 appearances, and head coach Alberto Gilardino has shown interest in offering a route back to Italy after it has become clear that he is facing an uphill battle to break into Postecoglou's plans in north London.

Pedro Porro has become one of the first names on the team-sheet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having been handed 37 outings in all competitions during the 2023/24 campaign after being pinpointed by the Greek-Australian tactician as his first-choice option on the right-hand side of the backline, limiting Spence's potential opportunities.

GMS sources have been informed that Spurs have refused to bow to Genoa's wishes to decrease their valuation of the six-cap England under-21 international, and they are at serious risk of pricing him out of a move despite his game time expected to be limited if he remains in his current surroundings.

Spence still has three years remaining on his £47,000-per-week contract in the capital, putting Tottenham in a strong negotiating position for the remainder of the transfer window and ensuring they are not under serious pressure to accept a cut-price bid ahead of the August 30 deadline.

Although Spurs signed the former Nottingham Forest loanee in a deal worth up to £20million from Championship side Middlesbrough in July 2022, his spell in north London has not gone to plan and he is eager to embark on a fresh challenge instead of spending significant periods of time on the periphery.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Djed Spence boasted pass accuracy of 92.3 per cent during Genoa's goalless draw at Juventus in March, which remained his highest figure in Serie A fixtures he started over the course of the 2023/24 campaign

Spence Price Tag Too High for Genoa

Serie A outfit switch focus to alternative targets

GMS sources understand that Genoa have turned their attentions towards alternative targets after deeming Tottenham's demands for £8.5million too high, and it is likely that Spence will not be making a quickfire return to the Luigi Ferraris Stadium despite their interest in rubber-stamping a deal.

Spurs have been determined to hold out for the fee included in the initial loan agreement as a purchase option, but the Serie A outfit have been wanting to persuade the Lilywhites' hierarchy to accept a deal worth in the region of £6million as they make preparations for the 2023/24 campaign.

Genoa have been locked in internal discussions with Tottenham since the season ended last month, after making it clear that they are eager to sign Spence on a permanent basis, but they have been left frustrated in their attempts to convince Levy to decrease his valuation of the outcast.

The capital club's decision to play hard-ball will come as a blow for the Italians as it comes in the wake of GMS sources recently revealing that all parties had been open to an agreement being reached, and Postecoglou is on course to have the ex-Leeds United loanee among his options heading into pre-season.

Tottenham and Southampton Could Make Rodon and Alcaraz Swap

Tottenham and Southampton Could Make Rodon and Alcaraz Swap - GIVEMESPORT
Description

Highlights

A swap deal is possible between Tottenham & Southampton for Joe Rodon and Carlos Alcaraz.

Rodon could be set to join Saints, with Spurs aiming to sell him after various impressive loan spells.

Alcaraz is valued at £30million, and a potential move to Tottenham is in the works with Rodon going the other way.

Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton will be looking to add to their ranks ahead of a busy summer transfer window prior to the Premier League season - and both clubs could administer a swap deal that would see the forgotten loan stars switch allegiances, with Joe Rodon and Carlos Alcaraz reportedly on the shortlists of the opposing clubs.

Both players spent time away from their parent clubs on loan last season, with Rodon joining Leeds United as the Yorkshire side aimed to return to the top-flight at the first time of asking, whilst Alcaraz spent a campaign on loan at Juventus with the Bianconeri finishing third in Serie A. The duo will return to their parent clubs ahead of pre-season; but Alan Nixon reports that a deal could be made between the two clubs that would see Rodon move to the Saints - with Tottenham being admirers of Alcaraz.

Rodon and Alcaraz Deal Could be Done This Summer

The duo were in strong form for their loan sides

The report states that Spurs and Southampton are aiming to complete a swap deal that would see Wales international Rodon depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for St. Mary's - effectively paving the way for Alcaraz to make the move to the capital city.

Tottenham are aiming to sell Rodon having failed to break into the first-team picture in north London under Ange Postecoglou, with Southampton leading the chase for his signature after a strong campaign on loan at Leeds last season. And with the Whites losing to Southampton in the Championship play-off final, the south coast outfit have stolen a march in the race for his signature ahead of what will be a challenging Premier League campaign.

Rodon fits in with Russell Martin's passing style of play, making him a top target for Saints chiefs to bring in and being valued at £10million by Nixon, it's a deal that they would be willing to make with Spurs in the transfer market.

And the deal could be made even easier by Tottenham's interest in Alcaraz. The young Argentine spent last season on loan at Juventus after making it abundantly clear that he did not want to play in the Championship for Southampton - and they could cash in on his services in a swap deal that would see him become a squad player in north London.

Alcaraz is rated around the £30million mark, meaning that Tottenham would have to pay a large chunk of money for any move to go head. And whilst the clubs will have to work on valuations, there is every chance that the deal would go ahead with the players in question both being keen on a move to their respectively linked clubs.

A Swap Could be Ideal For Both Clubs

Both teams need different profiles at present

With Rodon likely to slot straight into Southampton's team, a deal could well be much more important for Martin to get over the line - especially given that if they do go back down, the Welshman has already proven that he is a top Championship defender who has walked the division at times.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Alcaraz scored four goals in 18 Premier League games for Southampton before they were relegated in 2022/23.

Adding to that, an extra £20million in transfer fees could be vital at the bottom end of the league and a marquee signing may be the difference between survival and relegation.

Alcaraz, on the other hand, would be a smart signing for the future having shown his talents in the Premier League at Southampton and in Italy for Juventus - and with some top-tier coaching alongside regular game time under Postecoglou, he could well become a solid option to have and his valuation would shoot up.

Highlights

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Tammy Abraham as boss Ange Postecoglou seeks attacking reinforcements ahead of next season.

Santiago Gimenez, Serhou Guirassy, Lois Openda and Ivan Toney have also worked their way onto Spurs' radar during the early stages of the transfer window.

Aston Villa and West Ham United are among the Premier League rivals threatening to provide Tottenham with competition for Roma frontman Abraham.

Tottenham Hotspur are on the lookout for new firepower in their frontline next season, and one of the latest links is with Roma striker Tammy Abraham.

Sources close to Spurs are indicating to GIVEMESPORT that the former Chelsea man has not been identified as one of their priority targets for the summer transfer window, yet admit he may become the best value option they could consider.

Abraham, 26, is expected to be available at a market price of between £20million and £25million, and his experience in England and Europe, combined with the fact he counts towards homegrown quotas within the Premier League, brings a sense of temptation for Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs Put Together Shortlist as North Londoners Seek New Striker

Gimenez considered by many to be leading target

Tottenham had been looking at other strikers alongside Abraham before now and top options include Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda and Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

Gimenez is considered by many to be the leading candidate for Spurs, though he is valued at £42million and has also picked up fresh links to the north Londoners' arch-rivals Arsenal in recent weeks.

Guirassy is set for a move to Borussia Dortmund as it stands, while Leipzig do not want to lose £70million-rated Openda. Toney, currently on England duty for the European Championship, is valued at £60million by Brentford and sources close to Tottenham say that is around £15million higher than they would be wanting to pay.

Toney’s market is shrinking for this summer, with Chelsea and Arsenal no longer interested, but current information suggests the Bees will continue to price him at the £60million mark.

Whether they stick to that remains to be seen, but it does mean that Abraham becomes an intriguing option to consider.

Postecoglou Facing Competition for Abraham Deal

Aston Villa and West Ham among additional suitors

Aston Villa have some interest in Abraham - who was once on loan at Villa Park - as they considered a permanent move for him previously. West Ham United are being linked at a time when they also want a new focal point to their attack. Interestingly, sources have indicated to GMS that the Hammers also have an eye on Toney.

Abraham is likely to be more actively offered to clubs in the coming weeks, and Spurs have become aware of his situation recently.

It is felt his price-tag could end up being closer to £25million but, even at that point, he would represent market value that is better than other strikers with proven goalscoring credentials.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tammy Abraham has failed to score or grab an assist in any of his six appearances against Tottenham Hotspur over the course of his career

Abraham has done well in Italy, but suffered a long-term injury and returned to action at the end of the season, making eight Serie A appearances and scoring one goal in a 2-2 draw with Napoli.

Market opportunities are being felt out, but it is understood he is open-minded about the prospect of returning to England.

Abraham was born in London and came through Chelsea’s youth system. The Blues will also be looked at as a potential option for the player at a time when Chelsea have already been pursuing other options.

Spurs had sent scouts to watch Santiago Gimenez, Ivan Toney and Serhou Guirassy after initially determining that they wanted to recruit a new frontman.

Ange Postecoglou is on the brink of shifting his focus towards luring a creative attacker to Tottenham instead of an out-and-out centre forward.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou could be forced to significantly alter his summer transfer plans if Richarlison remains at Hotspur Way as it would leave the Greek-Australian tactician with a difficult task to recruit a new first-choice striker ahead of the fast-approaching new season, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Spurs have already ensured that Timo Werner will remain among their options heading into the 2024/25 campaign as a fresh loan deal, which includes an £8.5million option to make the switch permanent, was negotiated with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig for the Germany international last month.

Lucas Bergvall will also link up with his new teammates in the coming weeks after completing a switch from Djurgardens despite additional interest from Barcelona during the early stages of the year, but Postecoglou is still working with chairman Daniel Levy and technical director Johan Lange to bring in further reinforcements.

Spurs Concerned Richarlison Will Not Seal Exit

North Londoners in U-turn after scouting trio of centre forwards

Tottenham's search for a new first-choice striker is moving slowly due to doubts over whether Richarlison will be sold, according to GMS sources, and Postecoglou is aware that it will become more difficult to entice a fresh face to north London if the Brazil international's departure is not sealed in the coming weeks.

Having joined Spurs in a £60million deal from Everton in 2022, the 27-year-old had more pressure on his shoulders during the 2023/24 campaign thanks to talismanic frontman Harry Kane rubber-stamping a move to Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich on the eve of the season getting underway.

GMS sources have been informed that plans have been made to sign a forward, having sent scouts to watch the likes of Feyenoord centre forward Santiago Gimenez, Brentford talisman Ivan Toney and Stuttgart goal-getter Serhou Guirassy in action in recent months, but Richarlison staying in the capital may force Postecoglou into a U-turn.

Heung-min Son was regularly deployed in a central role throughout the 2023/24 campaign, with him finding the back of the net 14 times over the course of 23 appearances out of his favoured position on the left flank, and Tottenham are attempting to fully determine the look of their attack heading into pre-season.

GMS sources understand that it is currently unclear whether Spurs will move ahead with a formal proposal for Gimenez, Toney or Guirassy until Richarlison's future is decided, having gained interest from Saudi Arabian big-spenders Al-Hilal ahead of the transfer window officially reopening earlier this month.

The former Watford and Fluminense man still has three years remaining on his contract, which allows him to pocket £130,000-per-week when bonuses are included, resulting in him being under no pressure to move onto pastures new unless an eye-catching opportunity arises.

Transfer insider Dean Jones recently told GMS that Tottenham are open to cashing in on Richarlison as Postecoglou prepares for his second season at the helm, but they are at risk of seeing admirers fall short of their lofty demands as they aim to recoup funds to reinvest in the current squad.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Richarlison registered six shots as he bagged a brace during Tottenham Hotspur's 4-1 victory over Newcastle United in December, which remained his highest tally of attempts in a single Premier League outing throughout the 2023/24 campaign

Postecoglou Edging Towards Recruiting Creative Attacker

Capital club could accelerate move for Eze

GMS sources have been told that it is increasingly likely that Tottenham will turn their attentions towards signing a new creative attacker instead of a top level centre forward if Richarlison does not head through the exit door ahead of the summer window slamming shut on August 30.

Although it would come as a huge frustration to large sections of the fanbase if Spurs are unable to recruit a new first-choice striker who is capable of spearheading them towards ending their lengthy wait for silverware, it appears that Postecoglou's hands are tied if outgoings are not rubber-stamped.

But the former Celtic chief is refusing to rest on his laurels and is eager to secure more attacking options despite already landing Werner and Bergvall, and GMS sources have learned that Tottenham's pursuit of Crystal Palace talisman Eberechi Eze could ramp up as a move for a frontman is put on hold.
