Tottenham Hotspur have been through a whole heap of change over the last four years or so.

The fans have seen managers come and go, expensive signings flop, and even club icon Harry Kane finally leave.

However, while Ange Postecoglou hasn't been able to remove the club's inconsistent streak, he has, at the very least, made them entertaining to watch again, which certainly wasn't the case under former manager Antonio Conte.

However, for all the Italian's mistakes in North London, he did at least sign one of the club's best players, a player who could soon be worth north of £100m based on those he's compared to.

Conte's recruitment misstep

Before we get to the player in question, let's look at another of the personnel additions made by Conte during his time in the hot seat, one who has not had the best of times in North London: Richarlison.

The Brazilian joined Spurs for a whopping £60m in the summer of 2022, and off the back of a campaign in which he scored 11 goals and provided five assists in just 33 games for Everton, it was easy to understand why Daniel Levy and Co sanctioned such an expensive offer.

However, the former Watford ace's first year in N17 was a disaster, as in 35 appearances across all competitions, he racked up a measly tally of three goals and four assists, meaning that he maintained an average of a goal involvement once every five games, which can hardly be described as value for money.

Last season, under the management of Postecoglou, things panned out a little better for the Nova Venécia-born forward, as he scored 12 goals and provided four assists in 31 games.

However, the one mark on that record is that nine of those goals came between gameweek 16 and 23 in the league, so outside that period, he remained unreliable in front of goal.

This season has seen the 27-year-old score once and provide one assist in seven appearances, but injuries have been a problem, and with Dominic Solanke's arrival in the summer it seems like his time at Spurs is all but up, which cannot be said for another of Conte's signings, who is thriving this year.

The Conte signing star who could be worth a fortune

To get straight to the point, the player in question is Swedish sensation Dejan Kulusevski, who initially joined Conte's Tottenham on an 18-month loan deal in January 2022, but was then signed permanently for around £23m in June the following year.

In the almost three years that the 24-year-old has been at the club, he has established himself as undoubtedly one of their most technically brilliant players, and while he's had some dips in form along the way, he remains one of their most dangerous players.

In his 113 appearances to date, the Stockholm-born phenom has scored 17 goals and provided 24 assists, equating to an average of a goal involvement every 2.75 games, which is even more impressive when you consider that he's played in seven different positions during those 113 games.

Speaking of positional changes, he's undergone a significant one under Postecoglou, as the Australian is now primarily playing the "world-class" star, as described by talent scout Jacek Kulig, in midfield, and it's proving to be an inspired change.

For example, of his seven goal involvements so far this season, six of them have come when he's started in central or attacking midfield, and it was there that he put in his best performance of the campaign away to Manchester United as well.

This sensational form and new position has seen him land comparisons with some of the most exciting and valuable players in the world, including Manchester City's Phil Foden.

The comparison stems from FBref, which compares players in similar positions across Europe's top five leagues, the Champions League and Europa League then creates a list of the ten most comparable players for each one, and in this instance, has concluded that the Englishman is the sixth most similar midfielder to the Lilywhites star.

Now, to get a better idea of how this conclusion was reached, we can examine the underlying metrics in which the pair ranks most closely, metrics including but not limited to non-penalty expected goals, progressive passes, key passes and passes into the penalty area and aerial duels won, all per 90.

While it's great in its own right to be compared to such a highly thought-of midfielder, it should also delight Levy and Co, as if the pair are so statistically similar and are the same age, then they should be worth similar amounts, right?

If so, the North Londoners would be sitting on an incredibly valuable asset, as Transfermarkt values the City star at an eye-watering €150m, which converts to around £125m.

Therefore, while he might not have that valuation today, it could be argued that in Kulusevski, Tottenham have an incredible £125m megastar in the making.

Tottenham Hotspur have an unseen teenage sensation who's "just like" young forward Mikey Moore, which bodes well for manager Ange Postecoglou considering just how impressive the latter has been when given an opportunity.

Mikey Moore praised for Tottenham displays this season

It's been a landmark season for Moore so far, who has been handed a fair few chances to impress by Postecoglou over the early stages of 2024/2025.

The 17-year-old was handed a Premier League start in Spurs' 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, alongside cameos off the bench against Brentford, Man United and Brighton, but the Europa League is where Moore has turned the most heads.

His very impressive displays against Ferencvaros and Dutch giants AZ Alkmaar, where he started both encounters, earned Moore plenty of praise - with teammate James Maddison even comparing the teenager to Neymar.

“From minute 45 to 65 I thought we had Neymar on the left wing. He was brilliant. Just demanding the ball and fearless," said Maddison on Moore to TNT Sports, after his performance against AZ.

“[He has] that young, fearless mentality and you never want to take that away from him. He’s a young kid, a brilliant lad, a lovely boy. He takes in information, and he’s got bags of ability, so I’ll be there as an older player, hopefully with some wise words to help along the way.

“He’s got all the ability. It’s just about knuckling down and working hard, which he does to be fair to him.”

Moore has been called a £200 million sensation in the making, and while Postecoglou was quick to shoot down comparisons with Neymar, it is safe to say that the England Under-19 international could have a pretty big future ahead of him.

However, according to academy expert and pundit John Wenham, another youngster who supporters should watch out for is Luca Williams-Barnett.

The 16-year-old is on fire for Spurs' Under-18s right now, bagging nine goals and four assists in eight league outings so far this season, and Wenham has told Tottenham News that Williams-Barnett is "just like" Moore. Not only that, but Wenham also states that Williams-Barnett is becoming a "bit of a cheat code".

“Williams-Barnett’s goal contributions are incredibly similar to what Moore was doing,” Wenham said.

“A lot of supporters would say that having Moore was like having a cheat code when the forward was playing with the Under-18s.

“And I’d say that just like Moore, Williams-Barnett is also becoming a bit of a cheat code.”

Ruben Amorim is pushing Manchester United to sign an £85,000-a-week “titanic” Premier League ace, according to a recent report.

The January transfer window is around six weeks away from opening, and the Red Devils have their eye on a few players they could potentially sign, but finances will be tight, as they have to remain within the fair play rules.

INEOS are planning to run the Red Devils on a more restrictive transfer budget in the future, as they don’t want to continue the heavy spending on players that has been done in the last few years. However, with that being said, United are continuing to be linked with players, two of whom are defenders.

Several Sporting Lisbon players have been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, and defender Ousmane Diomande is one of them. The centre-back was a key player under Amorim, and at this moment in time, Diomande prefers a move to Man United over rivals Man City. Amorim and Diomande have already spoken, and Amorim holds the player in high regard, so he could look to bring him to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

As well as looking at Diomande, Man United are also remain interested in a deal to sign Jarrad Branthwaite. Both the club and head coach want to sign the Englishman, with more talks being held recently about how they can structure a deal. Branthwaite has refused to sign a new deal at Goodison Park, but Everton remain firm on their £70 million valuation for the defender.

Diomande and Branthwaite are not the only defenders that United are looking to sign, as they now have a current Premier League player on their radar.

Amorim pushing Man Utd to sign £85k-p/w ace

According to Spanish outlet AS, relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester United are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro. The 25-year-old has been an impressive performer in the Premier League since joining Spurs back in 2023 from Sporting Lisbon.

Porro, who has been labelled a “titanic” defender by The Athletic’s Spurs correspondent Charlie Eccleshare, played 35 times for Spurs last season in the league, and he scored three goals along the way, as well as recording seven assists.

Now, this report states that United and rivals Manchester City have joined Real Madrid in the race to sign Porro from Tottenham. Amorim knows the defender, who earns £85,000 a week at Spurs, well, as the pair worked together at Lisbon, and the United head coach seems keen to bring him to Old Trafford.

Porro’s entourage are “convinced” that the Red Devils will make an attempt to sign him from Spurs. This is largely because of Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford, as the duo still have a good relationship. The defender is under contract until 2028 at Tottenham, and chairman Daniel Levy will not let the defender leave for anything less than €70 million (£58.3 million).

It's not been a straightforward season for Tottenham Hotspur this year.

Ange Postecoglou's side have alternated from looking like one of the best teams in the country, to one that handed Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town their first wins of the Premier League campaign.

The Australian has been able to turn his team into great entertainers, but that is also down to the fact that it's hard to know which team will turn up on any given day.

It could be argued that the forward-thinking coach could use one of the first players he sold when he took the reins last summer, a player who's been touted for a return to the England set-up by Gary Neville.

Spurs' 2023 summer departures

Before getting to the in-form player in question, let's examine a few other Spurs stars sold in Postecoglou's first summer, starting with the big one, Harry Kane.

Yes, after years of speculation, the England captain finally left North London last summer, but instead of remaining in the country, he joined German behemoths Bayern Munich for a fee said to be £86.4m.

The Lilywhites legend left the club with an unreal haul of 280 goals and 61 assists in 435 games, and while he's already scored 61 goals and provided 21 assists in 61 appearances for the Bavarians, he is still yet to win his first trophy as an invincible Bayer Leverkusen finally pipped FC Hollywood to the throne last year.

Now, someone who didn't leave with as much fanfare was Lucas Moura, who rejoined boyhood side São Paulo on a free after making 221 appearances for the North Londoners over five and a half seasons, in which he scored 39 goals, provided 27 assists and gave the fans that night in Amsterdam.

Since returning to Brazil, the 32-year-old has been in fine form and currently has 13 goals and nine assists to his name in 43 games this season, and was recalled to the Brazil squad and played in the World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay in September.

However, he might not be the only Spurs ace sold last summer to be recalled to their national team in the near future.

The former Spurs star Postecoglou must regret selling

Many former and current Spurs stars have been or still are part of the England set-up, such as Eric Dier, Kane, James Maddison, and now Dominic Solanke.

However, the player Neville believes should be a part of the England squad, and Postecoglou could regret selling last summer, is Harry Winks.

The Australian and Daniel Levy opted to cash in on the 28-year-old midfielder when Leicester City came in with an offer worth £10m, and while that looked like good business at the time, it's starting to look less so this season.

After playing a crucial role in securing immediate promotion back to the Premier League, the Hemel Hempstead-born "Rolls-Royce", as dubbed by former professional Ian Baraclough, has continued his fine form into this one, so much so that there are reports that the Lilywhites may be interested in re-signing him in 2025.

If true, it's not hard to see why, as not only has he already racked up three assists and one goal in just 11 appearances, primarily from defensive midfield, but his underlying numbers are seriously impressive when compared to the North Londoners' defensive midfielders.

For example, while he comes out second or third best in some metrics against Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur, he comes out ahead in others, including but not limited to assists, key passes, crosses into the penalty area, shot and goal-creating actions, blocks and more, all per 90.

Ultimately, it might not be a popular opinion, and Winks might not make it back into the Three Lions set-up under Thomas Tuchel, but he has shown this season that the Premier League is where he belongs.

Moreover, when looking at his raw output and underlying numbers, it certainly looks like he could be doing a job for Postecoglou and Spurs right about now.

Tottenham Hotspur have been blessed with some incredible talents over the last decade or so.

In the early 2010s, fans were treated to arguably one of the best wingers the Premier League has ever seen in Gareth Bale, and then, just a few years later, witnessed the incredible partnership of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min define another era in the club's storied history.

However, one player who perhaps didn't get the appreciation he deserved from non-Spurs fans when he was plying his trade in N17 was midfield maestro Christian Eriksen.

The Danish international was an exceptional player for the North Londoners, and while he has never truly been replaced, Ange Postecoglou may now finally have the player destined to do just that.

Eriksen's Spurs career

In the aftermath of Bale's record-breaking sale to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013, Tottenham were flush with cash, and while the majority of the 'magnificent seven' signed with that cash turned out to be a total waste of money, Eriksen was not.

In his first campaign with the North Londoners following his £11.5m move, the Middlefart-born wizard already looked like one of the best attacking midfielders in the country.

In just 36 appearances across all competitions, he racked up a brilliant haul of ten goals and 11 assists, equating to an average of a goal involvement every 1.74 games.

This instant adaptation to English football wasn't a false dawn either, as the 32-year-old would continue to be a sensational player for the Lilywhites across the next five and a half seasons, registering a final haul of 69 goals and 89 assists in 305 games for the club, equating to an average of a goal involvement every 1.94 games.

Moreover, this incredible haul was evidence that while the Danish international was an exceptional creator, he was also more than adept at scoring goals, so when he departed for Inter Milan in January 2020 for just £16.9m, it was a significant hit to the team.

The club have tried to find his successor in the years since and arguably came closest with James Maddison, but so far, they've been unable to find someone as unbelievably talented and consistent as the Dane.

However, that may no longer be the case, as Postecoglou has an up-and-coming young talent in his squad this year, a talent who's already been dubbed the next Eriksen by those in the know.

Postecoglou's talent who could be the new Eriksen

Let's get straight to the point, as while the club now has a number of promising young talents on their books, the player in question is 18-year-old Lucas Bergvall, whom former Spurs scout Bryan King proclaimed "could be the next Christian Eriksen."

Now, King spent 28 years as a first-team scout, six of which at Tottenham, and on top of focusing on Scandinavian football, he also spent over a decade managing in Norway and Sweden, so to call him an expert on the region's football would be an understatement.

When comparing the young Swede to the now incredibly experienced Dane, King argued that it was the latter's quality as a "good passer" and ability to "finish from distance" that made him most similar to the latter, and based on his performances last season, it's not hard to see what he means.

For example, in 19 games for Swedish side Djurgården, the teenager managed to score six goals and provide five assists for good measure, equating to an average of a goal involvement every 1.72 games and showing he too can be both a scorer of goals as well as a creator.

Moreover, despite still being so young, the "uber-complete" midfielder, as dubbed by analyst Ben Mattinson, has already won four caps for the Swedish national team, and considering the calibre of the players currently in the squad, that's no small feat.

Ultimately, it is probably too early to know whether Spurs genuinely have found their new Eriksen, but based on his promising displays last season and the opinion of a vastly experienced expert in King, the signs are undeniably positive.

Tottenham Hotspur officials are concerned that a "real force" in their squad could be missing until next year, alongside winger Wilson Odobert, who recently underwent surgery on his right hamstring.

Odobert tipped for lengthy absence after Spurs surgery

Spurs officially announced that Odobert had a successful procedure on his hamstring last weekend, with the £25 million winger signed from Burnley now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines as he begins his recovery.

Odobert has endured a pretty unlucky start to his Lilywhites career since making the move from Turf Moor, missing their last seven Premier League games with a combination of hamstring and thigh problems, and he's managed just 272 minutes across all competitions as a result.

The Frenchman is now set to miss even more game time following his surgery, with ex-Spurs scout Bryan King predicting that he could be out until late February at the earliest.

“I can’t see him returning before the end of February,” said King to Tottenham News earlier this week.

“That is quite a serious operation that he has had. For someone to have it at this age, it is very hard on him, he was progressing quite well. Now he has had to undergo surgery which will leave him out for quite some time.”

Odobert's absence, and manager Ange Postecoglou's resulting selection headache, is compounded by mainstay midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur's seven-game domestic ban, which will result in the Uruguay international missing an array of crucial Premier League games and their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Man United.

Bentancur isn't eligible for a single domestic match until Boxing Day, but he is at least permitted to play European matches during his English ban.

On top of this, Postecoglou is also set to be without striker Richarlison, who has been sidelined with his own hamstring problem. The Brazil international's struggles with injury have resulted in him missing 10 games across all competitions already this term, which is a crying shame for Richarlison after his decision to reject a move to Saudi Arabia in the summer and fight for his place at Spurs (ESPN).

According to GiveMeSport, it gets worse for the £60 million forward. Those within Tottenham are worried that Richarlison will be out injured until next year, and that could significantly affect his market value, as chairman Daniel Levy ponders whether to cut his losses on the ex-Everton star.

Spurs are apparently hoping he makes a swift recovery and returns to form, so Richarlison can tempt interested parties into bidding. The 27-year-old enjoyed a terrific purple patch under Postecoglou midway through 2023/2024, and that kind of run would work wonders to secure him a move away in 2025.

"I’ve never thought in those terms because if you do, you box yourself in," said Postecoglou on Richarlison last season.

“What I want is for Richy to keep improving, and keep developing his football and becoming a real force for us, and we’ll see where that takes us."

Tottenham Hotspur superstar Son Heung-min is set for an internal meeting with Spurs over his future "in the coming days", as a European club prepare to bid for him when the January transfer window reopens.

Spurs reportedly set to trigger one-year extension clause in Son contract

Reliable media sources have claimed that Son's one-year extension clause is set to be triggered, which would keep him in north London until the summer of 2026, with his current terms set to expire at the end of this season as things stand.

The 32-year-old was pivotal for manager Ange Postecoglou last term, scoring 17 goals and assisting 10 more in the Premier League alone, and there is little denying he remains a key man despite the lesser numbers so far this campaign.

The £190,000-per-week forward is a Lilywhites legend, and perhaps one of the best bargain buys in recent history, considering he signed for just £22 million from Bayer Leverkusen nearly 10 years ago.

Losing Son for nothing would be a bitter blow for Postecoglou and chairman Daniel Levy, resulting in their reported decision to take action as they begin steps to trigger his one-year extension clause.

“I have something to say about Heung-min Son, a top player of Tottenham Hotspur. It's important to say that, according to my information, Tottenham are prepared to take the option to extend the contract of Son," said Fabrizio Romano last week (via GiveMeSport).

“So if you check on Son, on all the websites, for example, Transfermarkt, you can see that his contract is expiring in the summer of 2025.

“But Tottenham have an option, they have a clause in the contract to extend the deal for one more season, 25/26, and they are in the process, from what I'm hearing, of extending this contract for one more year.”

While this would appear to cement his future for another year and a half, reports in Turkey now claim that Süper Lig champions Galatasaray could give him something to think about in the winter.

Son set for Tottenham meeting as Galatasaray ready January bid

According to Fanatik, Galatasaray are ready to bid for Son in January, as they're actively scouring the market for a world-class winger after letting the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Tete leave in the summer.

They're also prepared to offload Hakim Ziyech in January, meaning that they'll be in need of a proven option in that area.

The report adds that Son is set for internal talks over his Tottenham future "in the coming days", so it is by no means a certainty he will stay going by this latest bit of information from abroad, regardless of his contract clause.

Of course, it will have to be a very audacious bid from Galatasaray to make Levy and Postecoglou even consider letting Son depart midway through the campaign.

After suffering a rather baffling 2-1 defeat at the hands of Ipswich, perhaps this international break came at exactly the right time for Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham side.

This has been a topsy-turvy campaign, to say the least, with the Aussie battling against all sorts of demons on the domestic and continental stage.

It was classic Spurs, really. They had enjoyed a thrilling week where they beat Manchester City and Aston Villa only to lose their next two, against Galatasaray in the Europa League and then to relegation-threatened Ipswich just a few days later.

Postecoglou will have had plenty of time to get things right over the last week and a half, therefore, but it doesn't get much easier with Manchester City to come on Saturday evening. Fortunately, some of his star players enjoyed a cracking time of it with their international sides.

Spurs' star players during the international break

This wasn't the busiest of breaks for those who don Spurs colours with plenty of stars actually not called up. Yet, those who did get the call-up certainly caught the eye.

Club captain Heung-min Son scored twice for South Korea, once against Kuwait and another against Palestine.

There was also good fortune for Dejan Kulusevski who has only gone from strength to strength this season. He featured in Sweden's 2-1 win over Slovakia last week before truly dazzling against Azerbaijan in a 6-0 win for the Swedes on Tuesday evening.

Man in demand Viktor Gyokeres helped himself to four goals while the other two came from the boot of Kulusevski who enjoyed an excellent night for his country.

Seemingly rejuvenated by playing in a more central role, he flourished as a no.10 behind the aforementioned Gyokeres and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Not only did Kulusevski score twice but he supplied an assist and managed a total of six shots on the night, also boasting 113 touches, the most of anyone by a margin of 30.

That said, he wasn't the only Spurs star to catch the eye over the last few days. Wales' Brennan Johnson also delivered an impressive performance on Tuesday night.

Brennan Johnson's performance in numbers

This has been a real breakthrough campaign for Johnson so far, notably scoring seven goals for Spurs with six of them memorably coming in six consecutive matches.

Not just a livewire at club level, the former Nottingham Forest winger has also shone on the international stage, scoring for Wales against Iceland during October's international break.

He was in fine form again in the latest set of fixtures, scoring for Craig Bellamy's side against the Icelandics again on Tuesday during a 4-1 victory. Not just content with finding the net, Johnson also registered an assist for a goal scored by Liam Cullen.

It was a phenomenal display from the 23-year-old who was awarded a 9/10 match rating courtesy of Sofascore and his overall stats summed up why.

During the contest, Johnson impressively completed 89% of his passes and created two chances. Completing 100% of his dribbles and winning eight of his nine duels, the Icelandic defence never stood a chance of containing him.

No player on the pitch won more ground duels while no player in the Welsh attack left the field boasting more touches of the ball (49).

Hopefully, Postecoglou will get a similar tune out of the wide man against City this forthcoming weekend.

For the second international break in a row, Tottenham Hotspur entered the two-week layoff with a defeat after losing 2-1 to newly promoted Ipswich Town.

The previous break saw them enter the period after a collapse against Brighton, which saw Spurs lose the game 3-2 despite leading the hosts by two goals at the break.

Ange Postecoglou will want his side to once again bounce back upon the return to Premier League action at the weekend, as they aim to secure a place in the top four at the end of the season.

Whilst most of the players have been away with their respective nations, the Aussie would have had time to work with the squad to try and resurrect their recent fortunes on the pitch.

However, some of the players have been able to start for the country in recent days and have started potentially allowing them to return to club football with a bang.

Spurs players who starred on the international stage

Winger Brennan Johnson has enjoyed a successful start to the season, scoring in six consecutive Spurs matches at one point, after deactivating his social media account following abuse early on in the campaign.

He’s since starred for Wales under Craig Bellamy, producing an excellent display in the 4-1 win over Iceland last night.

The 23-year-old registered a goal and an assist in the win, single-handedly securing the three points in the UEFA Nations League, achieving promotion to the next group.

The winger also completed 24 passes, achieving a 100% success rate with the two dribbles he attempted whilst winning eight duels - the most of any player in the meeting.

Ben Davies also impressed in the same fixture, making seven clearances and winning four duels as he played a crucial role within the backline, with the Spurs duo having an impact at both ends of the pitch.

It could allow the 31-year-old to regain his starting role under Postecoglou after only featuring for 29 league minutes throughout the entire campaign.

However, it was another first-team member that caught the eye for his nation, making a huge impact on their victory last night.

Spurs star drops perfect 10/10 display for his country

Sweden international Dejan Kulusevski has often featured in a central role under Postecoglou for Spurs, with Johnson taking his place off the right-hand side.

The 24-year-old has registered two goals and two assists in the league so far this campaign, taking to his new role like a duck to water and cementing his place in the heart of the side.

He continued his good form for Sweden during the current international break, starting in the 6-0 thumping over Azerbaijan last night.

Kulusevski once again featured in a central role, taking his game to the next level, scoring twice and providing one assist for the in-form Viktor Gyokeres who bagged four goals for himself.

Apart from his goal contributions, he also produced some impressive numbers, helping Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side secure a third straight victory.

The Spurs ace registered an immense total of 113 touches during the win, completing 82% of the passes that he attempted, whilst achieving a 100% success rate with his dribbles.

Kulusevski also completed eight key passes and won nine duels as he made an impact at both ends of the field during the victory.

As a result of his superb display, the midfielder was handed a perfect 10/10 match rating by Sofascore - the highest of any player on the pitch along with the four-goal Gyokeres.

Spurs fans will be hoping that he can maintain his excellent form when they face champions Manchester City on Saturday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur have endured a mixed start to the season this year.

Ange Postecoglou's side have played some enthralling football at times and picked up some significant scalps in the process, but have also stumbled in games against struggling sides like Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town and currently find themselves in tenth in the Premier League.

However, while the North Londoners' results have been somewhat mixed, an unmistakable positive from the campaign has been the introduction of several youth talents, including academy jewel Mikey Moore.

The 17-year-old looks like he could be a future superstar, and based on recent reports, the club are targeting another young attacker to compete with him in the coming years, a youngster who could be Spurs' next Dele Alli.

According to a recent report from Spain, Tottenham are one of several sides interested in Aston Villa gem Louie Barry.

Alongside the Lilywhites, the report has revealed that fellow Premier League side Leicester City are also interested in signing the 21-year-old talent.

The Sutton Coldfield-born attacker is currently on loan with League One outfit Stockport County, but according to the report, an offer of around €15m - £12.5m - could be enough to tempt the Villans into selling either in January or next summer.

It might seem like a lot of money for a youngster who's untested at the top level, but based on his recent performances, he could be the ideal player to rival and push Moore to improve, and he could well be the club's next Dele as well.

It's quite simple as the two players share one thing in common: they are, or were, in the former Lilywhites star's case, stars of the English Football League.

Before the North Londoners opted to splash £5m on their former midfield maestro, he was making a name for himself in League One for MK Dons.

In his final campaign with the club, in the 14/15 season, the Milton Keynes-born star was simply unplayable, scoring 16 times and providing nine assists in just 39 appearances in the third tier.

Unsurprisingly, this was enough to earn him the Football League's Young Player of the Year Award in April of that year, and based on Barry's performances for Stockport so far this year, we wouldn't be surprised to see him win that same award in six months.

We say this as in just 17 appearances, the dynamic forward has proven - in the words of Stockport's Director of Football Simon Wilson that he "can scare the life out of defenders" - racking up 12 goals and one assist, meaning he's currently averaging a goal involvement once every 1.30 games.

This sensational form and the potential to be the next Dele also makes the "incredible" attacker, as dubbed by England international Declan Rice, the ideal candidate to rival and develop alongside Moore in the coming years.

Indeed, like the Lilywhites' promising academy star, the Villa gem has the ability to play across the frontline but generally prefers to play off the left of a front three.

Therefore, he could provide the 17-year-old with some genuine competition in the coming years, and should he eventually lose out to the "fearless" teen, as dubbed by James Maddison, he can always move out to the right or even into another position should Postecoglou envision a different role for him down the line.
