Tottenham striker Troy Parrott has claimed that a return to the club could be possible in the future.

Parrott refused to rule out a return to North London despite having his complete focus on AZ Alkmaar.

After his impressive performances for Excelsior Rotterdam last season, Parrott caught the attention of Dutch clubs and now AZ Alkmaar have shown faith in him by signing him this summer.

As per Football.London, the attacker left the Tottenham Stadium in a £6.7million deal to join the Eredivisie club.

The striker wanted to make it big at Tottenham but he did not get many opportunities to prove himself.

Parrott wanted to be a part of Ange Postecoglou’s team but the manager had other ideas and Parrott looked for a move away from the club.

The 22-year-old has now talked about a potential return to the club in the future.

He told De Telegraaf, as reported by Football.London:

“You never know how things are going to go in football.”

At a young age, the move away from Tottenham is right for his career as he needs more playing time.

The more first team action he gets, the more quicker his development will be.

Nobody knows what the future holds and how the Tottenham attacking situation will look like in the future but if he can perform for AZ Alkmaar, a return to North London could be possible.

Troy Parrott did not fulfill his potential at Tottenham

The fans and the club had high hopes of him but he did not turn out to be like many had imagined.

He is still young and has a lot of time in his career and under the right environment and coaching atmosphere, Parrott can develop into the player the Tottenham faithful once expected.

Postecoglou has added some new players to the squad this summer but there is a general feeling that a new attacker is needed who can help share the burden of scoring goals with the current players.

Gangwon FC have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur saw off competition from a direct Premier League rival to sign Yang Min-hyeok.

Spurs agreed a deal on Sunday that will see the 18-year-old arrive in north London in January 2025, remaining with South Korean side Gangwon until then.

“We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement for Yang Min-hyeok to join the Club from K League 1 side Gangwon FC, subject to work permit and international clearance,” Spurs said in a short statement posted on their website on Sunday.

“Yang, who turned 18 in April, has agreed a deal that will run until 2030 and will join us in January, 2025.”

The teenager is highly rated in South Korea, notching two goals and two assists in 23 caps for the nation’s U16 and U17 teams combined, while he’s already registered eight goals and four assists in 25 K League appearances for Gangwon.

Alongside current club captain Son Heung-min and Lee Young-pyo, Min-hyeok is the third South Korean player to sign for Tottenham.

Tottenham’s capture of Min-hyeok — who won the K League Young Player of the Month awards for April, May and June of this year — has been made even more impressive by Gangwon’s claim that they saw off competition from another of the Premier League’s big hitters.

“It is true that another big 6 PL team that recently won the UCL had also enquired about Yang,” a club representative said (via talkSPORT).

“That team had nice plans about Yang’s development and had approached us earlier than Spurs. But what I didn’t realise at the time was that Yang had his heart set on Tottenham.

“I even asked him if he wanted to go to that other club, but Yang straightly refused, saying he wanted to only join Spurs.

“To make it clear, it was Yang, rather than Gangwon, who made the choice to pick Tottenham as his next club. I respected the player’s wish.”

Despite his tender age, Min-hyeok has already shone at senior club level, netting eight goals and providing four assists in 25 K League appearances for Gangwon so far in 2024. His first goal for the club in a 4-2 defeat to Gwangju in March saw him become the youngest K League goalscorer in 11 years.

The teenager is a right-footed winger who is comfortable on either flank and is also turning heads at youth national team level, picking up 23 caps for South Korea at U16 and U17 levels combined, scoring twice and providing another two assists.

Min-hyeok is enjoying a run of three straight K League Young Player of the Month awards, scooping the crown in April, May and June.

Tottenham look to hijack deal for 43 goal Arsenal target

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to make a move for Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres as they look to add a new number nine.

With the new Premier League season only a few weeks away, English clubs are trying their best to get new additions in the door as soon as possible to help boost their chances in the upcoming campaign.

Unfortunately for most sides who would’ve been keen to have their entire squad together for pre-season, the European Championship and Copa America have stalled a lot of deals.

But with both competitions now over and players returning from their personal vacations, we are beginning to see a lot more activity in the market.

The Gunners who have been rumoured to be on the hunt for a new centre-forward since last summer have continuously been linked with Sporting Lisbon striker Gyokeres but now face potential competition from North London rivals Spurs.

According to Football Insider, Ange Postecoglou’s side has ‘entered the race’ for the 26-year-old who impressed last campaign bagging 43 goals and 15 assists.

The report also claims that Liverpool and Chelsea are both interested in the striker who would cost a reported £86 million.

Since Harry Kane departed for Bayern Munich last summer, Tottenham have yet to replace him with an out-and-out number nine as Son Heung-Min or Richarlison operated in that position for most of last season.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The 23-year-old Spanish winger is expected to leave and he wants to join the La Liga outfit Girona this summer. According to journalist Nil Sola, the player is keen on a move to Girona and the two clubs are currently in discussions over a potential move.

The Spanish winger has struggled for regular game time at Tottenham and he played a total of 233 first-team minutes last season. A player of his quality and potential needs to play more often and it will be interesting to see if Girona are prepared to provide him with that opportunity.

The Spanish outfit had an impressive season last year and they secured Champions League qualification as well. It is no surprise that Gil wants to join them this summer.

Bryan Gil needs to leave Tottenham

Meanwhile, a return to his homeland will be an added incentive for the player. Gil will look to get his career back on track with regular football at the Spanish club next season. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can iron out an agreement in the coming weeks.

The transfer has not worked out for Tottenham or the player. It would make sense for them to go their separate ways now. Gil will not want to go out on loan, especially when he does not have a long-term future at Tottenham. The club should look to cut their losses on him as well and sell him permanently.

Girona will be hoping to take advantage of this situation at Spurs sign the winger for a reasonable price. It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds in the coming weeks.

Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with the agents of Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze regarding a summer transfer.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Give Me Sport, the North London club have been in contact with the 26-year-old’s agents since February. They are very interested in securing his services, but Tottenham are yet to submit an offer for him. Manchester City are keeping tabs on his situation as well.

Romano said: “Man City had Eze on their list already last summer, while Tottenham have been in contact with his agents since February – the interest is absolutely still there but again, no bids yet.”

The midfielder scored 11 goals and picked up four assists in the league last season and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for the North London club. He will add goals, creativity and flair in the final third. He has the technical attributes to slot into the wide areas as well.

The attacking midfielder will look to take the next step in his career and join a club capable of pushing for trophies. A move to Tottenham would be ideal for him.

Eberechi Eze could be a game changer

The London club have an exciting squad and a charismatic manager. They need more quality and depth in the side if they want to challenge for major trophies. Someone like Eze would certainly help them improve immensely. He can slot into the wide areas and his arrival will allow Spurs to rest the likes of James Maddison more often as well.

It will be interesting to see if they follow up on their interest with an official proposal to sign the player. Crystal Palace will not want to let him leave easily. They have recently sanctioned the departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich and they will not want to lose two key players in one window. Tottenham might have to pay a premium in order to get the deal done.

Tottenham and AC Milan still in talks over Emerson Royal transfer

AC Milan have had fresh contact with Tottenham over the transfer of Emerson Royal, but the two clubs still haven’t agreed a fee according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Serie A side have reportedly already agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old, but so far they haven’t been prepared to meet Tottenham’s valuation.

Spurs are open to selling a number of players this summer, with midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg recently joining Marseille, and Royal could be next to follow him out the exit door at the north London club.

Milan and Spurs still in talks over Royal

Milan are in the market for a right back this summer and have identified the Brazilian as a player they want, but negotiations reportedly went cold earlier this month with Spurs still wanting more than €20m for the former Barcelona man.

However, Romano has provided an update on the situation and reported that fresh contact has taken place between the two clubs as they look to come to an agreement.

He took to X.com and said:

“AC Milan had new contacts with Tottenham for Emerson Royal. There’s still almost €3m difference between fee offered and proposal received. Personal terms agreed in May, talks still ongoing between the two clubs.”

The Brazilian made 24 appearances in all competitions last season, with 22 of those coming in the Premier League, and if he were to leave then Spurs would need to find a replacement to act as back up for Pedro Porro.

Royal joined Spurs from Spanish giants Barcelona back in 2021 and still has two years remaining on his deal having signed a five year contract with the club.

It would seem likely that an agreement will eventually be reached given both clubs are back in talks, and a switch to the San Siro would see Royal play Champions League football next season.

Tottenham's huge windfall thanks to Ipswich Town and Sunderland pact

Description

Tottenham Hotspur begin their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea on Saturday, with a fixture against reigning J League champions, Vissel Kobe.

The North Londoners fell away at the back end of the 2023/24 season, and a few late reverses ensured that they failed to qualify for the Champions League, with Aston Villa nipping in to take their place.

Postecoglou will arguably look at himself first and foremost and wonder if he could’ve done anything better or differently which may have changed the dynamic at the business end.

A thorough and intensive look at the squad as a whole would surely have followed, and allowed the Australian to make a few decisions for the good of the team.

Though those clubs expected to be around them during the new Premier League season will have also strengthened during the summer, Spurs need to produce the type of form that they showed at the start of last season for the entirety of the 2024/25 campaign.

Bringing in quality players will help them to do just that, and Ipswich Town have inadvertently given them a helping hand in that regard.

Tottenham will benefit from Ipswich’s purchase of Jack Clarke

According to i sport (subscription required), they have offered Sunderland £18m for Jack Clarke, and given that Tottenham negotiated a 40% sell-on clause when they sold him to the Black Cats, they stand to make millions from the transfer.

That money is likely to go straight into club coffers, and gives Postecoglou and Daniel Levy a little more breathing space in terms of Financial Fair Play where transfers are concerned.
