Todd Kline has officially begun his stint at Chelsea and Tottenham are soon expected to make a big announcement about the role that he vacated.

Todd Kline’s short tenure at Tottenham

Kline was appointed as the North London club’s chief commercial officer back in March of 2021 but his stay at the club was relatively short.

It emerged earlier this year that Kline had vacated his position at Spurs to take over at Chelsea, and he was subsequently on gardening leave over the last few months.

There has not been any confirmation from Tottenham so far regarding the American replacement and it is unclear who is heading the club’s commercial operations at the moment.

Big announcement expected from Tottenham

Journalist Ben Jacobs has now confirmed that Kline has now officially begun working at Chelsea, with the former Spurs man assuming the role of ‘President, Commercial’ at the West London club

Meanwhile, TBR Football reveal that Tottenham are expected to officially confirm Kline’s replacement imminently.

MORE SPURS STORIES

They claim that a search for a new CCO has been active behind the scenes at Spurs for some time, with an appointment now expected to be made.

Have Spurs already appointed a new CCO?

Interestingly, even though Spurs have not announced a new CCO, there have been some hints that someone might have already started work in the role behind the scenes.

In the Leaders Week event held last month, which is the biggest annual conference for sports business professionals, one of the attendees listed was the ‘chief commercial officer for Tottenham Hotspur’, but the person’s name was not provided.

That might potentially suggest that a new CCO is already in place and Spurs might have been waiting for Kline’s gardening leave to conclude before making the news public.

Tottenham Hotspur are now reportedly plotting a potential move for a young forward, who they see as Heung-min Son’s heir over the long-term.

Tottenham want to bolster their attack

Spurs are reportedly keen on bolstering their attack when the transfer window opens in January and unsurprisingly, reports indicate that they are keen on signing a right-winger.

With Dejan Kulusevski being moved to a central role, Brennan Johnson lacks competition for his place in the side, which is something Ange Postecoglou‘s men may address in the upcoming transfer window.

It has now emerged that one Danish starlet has caught the North London club’s eye ahead of January.

Spurs scout rising star

This update comes from GiveMeSport, who reveal that Tottenham have their eye on Club Brugge star Andreas Skov Olsen.

In fact, the Lilywhites even reportedly sent scouts to watch the versatile attacker in action in Burgge’s Champions League clash with Aston Villa last week.

The outlet claims that there is now a growing belief that the 24-year-old will make a big move in January, with Tottenham, AC Milan and Sevilla circling over the player.

Tottenham see Andreas Skov Olsen as Heung-min Son’s heir

GiveMeSport say that with the Tottenham captain turning 33 at the end of the current season, the club are aware that they would have to sign an attacker who can take some of the attacking responsibility off the South Korean’s shoulder.

The decision-makers at the club are thus looking at wide attackers aged between 20 and 25, and they believe that Skov Olsen has the potential to evolve into a player of Son’s calibre.

The publication adds that as things stand, Tottenham represent the Denmark international’s ‘best chance’ of a switch to the Premier League.

One Tottenham youngster decides that he will not be leaving the club on loan, even though he has not had as many minutes as he would have wanted so far this season.

Tottenham youngster is a wanted man

Gray has featured regularly in the Carabao Cup and the Europa League this season, but is yet to start a single Premier League game for Spurs since his big-money move from Leeds in the summer.

It has been widely reported over the last few weeks that a number of Premier League and Championship sides are exploring the possibility of signing the 18-year-old on loan in January (Football League World).

However, the youngster has reportedly made up his mind already about what he wants to do in January.

Archie Gray wants to stay

This report comes from GiveMeSport, who say that Spurs expect a flurry of loan offers to arrive for the teenager in January. However, Gray is said to have no interest in leaving the North London club on loan just six months after arriving at N17.

The youngster believes that staying at Tottenham for the rest of the season will help improve his chances of breaking into Ange Postecoglou‘s starting eleven. The versatile midfielder is thought to have closed the door on a potential temporary move in January.

Gray believes he can become a regular at Spurs

GiveMeSport say that Gray is insisting that he wants to work hard to impress Postecoglou and his coaching staff in training, with the youngster determined to show that he deserves to play regularly.

The England international is keen on using the minutes that he gets in the Carabao Cup, Europa League and the FA Cup, to showcase his qualities.

The player has thus informed Tottenham that he will not consider a loan move, despite the interest that he is generating across England.

Tottenham Hotspur may be handed a significant blow in their efforts to sign one Premier League star in January, with the deal reportedly looking like it might be too expensive for the North London club.

Spurs eyeing sensation January signing

Football Transfers first broke the news last week that Tottenham were trying to lure Jack Grealish to N17 in January.

The outlet explained that the Lilywhites had come to signing the winger back in the summer but the player chose to stay at the Etihad and fight for his place instead.

Spurs’ sporting director Johan Lange is now trying again ahead of January, with the Dane currently in talks with Grealish and his representatives over a move to the capital.

Jack Grealish’s and Man City’s stance

However, GiveMeSport have now revealed that Spurs face an uphill battle in their efforts to sign the former Aston Villa man, who is not keen on leaving Man City.

Even though the England International is not the first choice at the Manchester club and is battling the likes of Phil Foden, Jeremy Doku, and Savinho for regular game time, he is not thought to be agitating for a move.

The publication adds that Pep Gurdiola’s men are also not actively looking to offload the 29-year-old in January, thus further complicating matters for Spurs.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Can Tottenham afford Grealish?

GiveMeSport do not reveal how much Grealish would cost but they say that Tottenham would have to break their transfer record to convince City to part ways with the player.

They further point out that the winger is on a £300,000 per week contract with the Premier League champions at the moment.

14 Spurs stars receive senior national call

There will be no rest for many of the Spurs players this week, with as many as 14 call-ups to senior national teams all around the world.

Spurs players earning recognition from national teams

Many fans watching Tottenham on Sunday would have been dismayed at their performance. However, this inconsistency at club level has not swayed the devotion of the players’ national team managers.

With competitive fixtures scheduled for national sides, many of the Tottenham senior squad have received call-ups to their teams to help secure qualification for forthcoming international tournaments.

Tottenham have named each player called up on X but it looks set to be a lonely two weeks at Hotspur Way for those who are left behind.

Fourteen senior Spurs players called up

Vicario, Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie, Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr, Bergvall, Kulusevski, Johnson, Son and Solanke will all join up with their national sides for the next week.

Most national sides have two matches scheduled to take place over this break. European teams will compete in the Nations League while South American and Asian nations will play for World Cup qualification in CONMEBOL and AFC respectively. African teams will be playing for AFCON qualification.

Of the 14 called up, there are a mixture of players who are considered first XI stalwarts for their country and those aiming to secure positions in their national team squads going forward. There is likely to be an element of rotation in most national teams, but there is a chance that some of Spurs’ players will be competing in another 2 games before they return to face Manchester City on the 23rd.

Postecoglou left to stew for weeks, once again

Tottenham have now lost every single Premier League game before an international break this season. This period of two weeks before the next fixture will be as painful for Ange Postecoglou as it is for fans.

With so many of the first team squad away and many of the others injured, there is little to nothing that can be worked on to rectify issues in their last game before everyone returns.

Ange has said previously that he “doesn’t like sitting on a loss”, also commenting that there can be a tendency to “over-analyse”. Even after the loss to Ipswich, Tottenham’s underlying numbers remain good so there is perhaps not a necessity to shake up the tactics to too great an extent.

However, with Tottenham’s lethargic starts to recent games (inferring a mental issue rather than a tactical one), perhaps this is an opportunity for a period of reflection. Postecoglou is an excellent communicator, so fans can at least have faith that over the next week, he may be able to figure out how to galvanise this team as they enter a difficult run of games in December.

Dejan Kulusevski is a Premier League leader in one statistic this season at Spurs

While results may be up and down for Tottenham Hotspur this season, one player is in red-hot form, and he has the statistics to back it up.

Dejan Kulusevski is firing on all cylinders

One of the main positives of this highly inconsistent season for Tottenham Hotspur has been the step up Dejan Kulusevski has made since moving into a more central role.

The Swedish star has been something of a revelation and has taken to the playmaker role with ease, showcasing his incredible vision, work-rate, and creativity.

Indeed, Kulusevski has been far and away Ange Postecoglou’s best player this term, and looks like he may have truly taken his game to the next level.

The 24-year-old has not just been the best player in Tottenham’s squad, though; he is absolutely dominating the charts in various statistics in the Premier League.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Kulusevski is leading the way when it comes to chances created by players in the English top flight.

Dejan Kulusevski dominating the final third

Now, WhoScored have shared data on the players in the Premier League that have won possession in the final third the most, and Kulusevski is once again at the top of the pile.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In fact, he’s been so good in this area, that he’s won back possession four more times than his nearest rivals, Antoine Semenyo and Bryan Mbuemo.

Kulusevski has recovered possession in the final third 16 times this season, proving how instrumental he is to Postecoglou’s system, which demands players press high, challenge for the ball, and work relentless to turnover possession.

Keep it up, Kulusevski

If Kulusevski continues at his current rate, he will surely be considered among one of the best players in the Premier League this season, and his attacking returns and statistics should prove that. It would be very surprising if he doesn’t make it into the team of the year by the end of the season.

Archie Gray has made a bright start to life at Tottenham Hotspur, but rumours are circulating that the youngster could be subject to a loan bid in the January transfer window.

Clubs want to sign Archie Gray on loan

Tottenham Hotspur splashed the cash to sign 18-year-old Archie Gray in the summer, and the youngster has made a great impression both behind the scenes and on the pitch.

He’s been limited to cameo appearances in the Premier League, but has been given more opportunities from the start in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup.

Still, that hasn’t stopped rumours suggesting a number of clubs are interested in taking the teenager on loan in January with the offer of more regular football.

The youngster is expected to attract plenty of loan offers in the upcoming transfer window, with a growing list of admirers (GiveMeSport).

Spanish outfit Sevilla had been mooted as a possible suitor for Gray (Estadio Deportivo), while his former club Leeds United have been urged to try and bring the teenager back until the end of the season (Football League World).

Spurs are not interested in letting Archie Gray go

However, all of those interested parties may well end up disappointed, as Graeme Bailey has told TBRFootball that Tottenham are not looking to send Gray out on loan at all.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is said there is no chance of Gray departing on loan as things stand, with the club wanting to keep hold of him, and the player himself showing no signs of wanting to be loaned out either.

Apparently, Ange Postecoglou sees Gray as an important member of the squad, and is happy with his progress so far.

Archie Gray will become more important as the season goes on

There is absolutely no way Tottenham will be sending Archie Gray out on loan. He’s already played a fair bit of football this season, and he’s proven how versatile he is by playing in a number of different positions. If Spurs were to pick up an injury at all, Gray would be the ideal player to step in.

Can Spurs win the Carabao Cup? Ranking all eight quarter

Submitted by daniel on

Description

Spurs have made it through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, and will face Manchester United in the next round of the competition. But can they go all the way?

Spurs defeated Manchester City in the last round with a resilient and impressive 2-1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

They will now face the Red Devils in December, with Ange Postecoglou‘s men hoping to make it to the final and secure a first piece of silverware for the Spurs boss.

Elsewhere, Newcastle will host Brentford, the holders Liverpool will travel to Southampton, and Arsenal will play Crystal Palace at the Emirates. Here, we rank all the remaining teams in order of how likely they are to win the Carabao Cup.

Who will win the Carabao Cup?

From least likely to the team we deem the favourites to lift the Carabao Cup next March, here’s our rundown of all eight quarter-finalists.

With all due respect, the Saints are bottom of the Premier League and can’t seem to buy a win so far. Even with home advantage, we cannot see them getting past Liverpool in the next round.

After beating Spurs last weekend, Crystal Palace then went and beat Aston Villa in the cup, and it’s probable they will start pushing on this season now after a poor start. However, Arsenal will likely be too much for them in the quarter-finals and their journey will end there.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Thomas Frank has got the Bees playing some really exciting football this season, and they do have a genuine chance of getting to the semi-finals. But, a trip to St James’ Park in the next round will be too much for Brentford.

Eddie Howe’s side seem to have found their shooting boots finally and they should have enough to get past Brentford. However, the Magpies have not looked quite right this season, and whoever they play in the semi-finals will send them packing.

You can never quite write Manchester United off, especially in cup competitions. Spurs may be at home in the quarter-finals, but United could still get a result. A lot will depend on their managerial situation come December, but we’re backing Tottenham to get the job done.

The Gunners have been pretty impressive this season, and are really good at finding a way to win games even when they’re not at their best. It would be foolish to bet against them when they’re firing on all cylinders, and they may well get to the final. But, let’s be honest, Arsenal don’t have what it takes to lift the trophy.

Arne Slot has got his Liverpool team playing really nice football already, and they’re comprehensively beating most teams they come up against. They’ve already secured wins against Man United and Chelsea this season, and got a draw against Arsenal last weekend, so we know they can deal with the big games, too. The current holders are very, very likely to go all the way again this year.

Yes, Arsenal are good, and Liverpool are great in this competition, but did you really think we’d back anyone but Spurs for this? In all seriousness, we know Ange Postecoglou wins trophies in his second season, and after seeing off City in the last round, the Lilywhites should be full of confidence.

While Liverpool and Arsenal will more than likely be going all out for the Premier League, Spurs can probably afford to pay more attention to the Carabao Cup, and it feels like this could present the perfect opportunity for Postecoglou to claim his first trophy with the club.

Aston Villa move ahead of Spurs in race to sign Tyler Dibling

Description

It has now emerged that Aston Villa have moved into pole position ahead of Tottenham and other clubs in the race to sign a young attacker who has caught the eye in the Premier League this season.

Tyler Dibling is a hit in debut Premier League season

The player in question is Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, who has not looked back since breaking into the Saints starting eleven. The teenager has been one of the few bright sparks in what has been a poor campaign for Russel Martin’s men so far.

It was reported by GiveMeSport recently that the youngster’s creativity and inventiveness had caught the eye of Tottenham and other clubs in the Premier League.

The outlet claimed that Ange Postecoglou‘s men were plotting a move for the winger in 2025 while the Saints were hoping to tie the player down to a new deal.

Aston Villa move into pole position for Dibling

However, according to Football Transfers, the Villans are now leading the race to secure Dibling’s signature ahead of the January window.

The Midlands club have now emerged as a ‘serious contenders’ to land the youngster, having impressed the player’s family and built a good rapport with them.

Unai Emery’s men will continue monitoring the Southampton man’s displays over the coming months and despite interest from other clubs, they are said to be confident that they will get an opportunity to hold discussions with Dibling and his representatives.

Tyler Dybling fits the profile which Spurs are after

Tottenham are in need of a right-winger to offer competition to Brennan Johnson, and Dibling fits the age and the tactical profile that Spurs are likely to target.

One would think that Postecoglou’s men would not allow the Saints starlet to go to Villa Park without a fight.

Jose Mourinho could face Spurs again soon as three PL clubs circle

Jose Mourinho’s time at Fenerbahce might be short-lived, with the former Spurs boss now reportedly being lined up by a number of Premier League clubs.

Jose Mourinho’s Spurs stint was one to forget

Mourinho was a smooth-talking maverick, who was tactically ahead of the curve when he first made a move to the Premier League back in 2004.

However, by the time Tottenham got him 15 years later, the Portuguese coach was jaded, a little cynical and behind the eight ball tactically, with his stint at the Lilywhites lasting just over a year.

The 61-year-old subsequently had a spell with AS Roma before joining Fenerbahce in the summer, and it now looks like his time in Turkey could be short-lived.

Mourinho wants Premier League return

TBR Football have now revealed that Mourinho is looking to return to the Premier League in 2025 and has his eyes set on three potential destinations.

The report explains that Everton’s new prospective owner Dan Friedkin wants the former Spurs boss to head up the next project and lead the Merseyside club into the new stadium.

Meanwhile, PIF, who own Newcastle, are also big fans of the special one and could look to take him to St James Park. While Eddie Howe’s job is thought to be safe for now, the Magpies could turn to Mourinho if results are not satisfactory this season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Finally, the outlet adds that the 61-year-old is also eyeing a potential move to the London Stadium, with Julen Lopetegui now under pressure.

Mourinho’s return will be great for the PL

Whatever one thinks of Mourinho’s capabilities as a manager at this stage of his career, there is no denying that he is box-office.
