Tottenham have received a massive boost ahead of the highly anticipated North London derby, with latest reports indicating that key defender Micky van de Ven is likely to be fit for the crucial match against Arsenal.

According to BBC Sport’s Nizaar Kinsella, Van de Ven has managed to avoid a serious injury and is optimistic about his chances of being available for the derby.

The 23-year-old centre-back, who has become a vital part of Spurs’ defense since his arrival last summer, missed Tottenham’s recent 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United, but his potential return is a significant relief for the team.

Ange Postecoglou, the Tottenham manager, has downplayed concerns regarding Van de Ven’s condition, describing the injury as “nothing serious.”

This update comes as a major boost for Spurs, especially as they prepare for one of their biggest fixtures of the season.

Van de Ven has quickly established himself as a cornerstone of Tottenham’s defencce, showcasing his strong defensive skills and chipping in with three goals in the Premier League last season.

His consistency was a key factor in Tottenham’s success, as he started 27 of the 28 league matches he was available for, which earned him the Tottenham Player of the Season award from the Official Supporters’ Clubs.

As Spurs gear up to face their arch-rivals Arsenal, the return of Van de Ven could prove crucial in shoring up their defense and enhancing their chances of securing a positive result in the derby.

His presence on the pitch will undoubtedly bolster Tottenham’s backline and provide much-needed stability as they aim to take the bragging rights in one of the Premier League’s most intense rivalries.

Sergio Reguilon is expected to part ways with Tottenham in the coming days after failing to secure a move away on deadline day.

The North London club have hardly done anything wrong in the 2024 summer transfer window. They offloaded quite a few players who were not in their plans and brought in players who would help them take the next step under Ange Postecoglou. But, they couldn’t find outcast Sergio Reguilon a new club and according to AS via SportsWitness, the Spanish full-back feels stuck at Spurs after having failed to secure an exit on the final day of the transfer window.

The 27-year-old full-back has spent the last two seasons on loan which suggests he has been surplus to requirements for some time now. He is not in Postecoglou’s plans and hasn’t been registered for the Premier League or the Europa League. With his contract running out, the club have been trying to cash in on him. Even the player is keen on parting ways but there hasn’t been much concrete interest in the former Real Madrid star who made the move to Tottenham back in 2020.

He finds himself in a very difficult situation at the London club. With the transfer window in Europe’s top five leagues now closed, the 27-year-old only has limited options to choose from. Portugal, Turkiye and Saudi Arabia are potential destinations for the Spanish international. Turkish giants Besiktas and Galatasaray are keen on having him in their squad and as things stand his departure from Spurs is a forgone conclusion despite the end of the transfer window.

Beşiktaş have ramped up negotiations for Sergio Reguilón who is free to leave Tottenham.

Sergio Reguilon’s future at Tottenham has been up in the air throughout the summer. The Spanish full-back who arrived at the club back in 2020 has failed to establish himself in their first team. Having spent the last 24 months out on loan, Spurs are now looking to get him off their books with his deal running out in less than 12 months.

The North London club have informed the player that he is free to leave the club this summer and according to Spor Sayfa via SportWitness, Besiktas have intensified their contacts with the player to bring him to Turkiye. The Black Eagles want to reinforce their backline by adding a new left-back and the Real Madrid graduate remains on their wishlist.

After spending the 2022/23 season on loan at Atletico Madrid, Reguilon joined Manchester United for the first half of last season before moving to Brentford for the second half. He has been surplus to requirements at Spurs for a while now and they have been actively looking for a new club for the 27-year-old.

With the left-back free to leave Tottenham, Besiktas have stepped up their interest and they are in talks to lure him to the Super Lig. But they are not the only Turkish club interested in Reguilon as Galatasaray have also been linked with the Spanish international.

Apart from the Turkish giants, there is interest in his services from Spain where Sevilla want to re-sign him while Barcelona want to add him to their squad as they seek more depth in the full-back department.

Tottenham are looking to offload Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon before tonight’s transfer window cut-off.

The North London have done some exceptional work in the ongoing transfer window. They have added a lot of quality to their squad and have parted ways with players who are no longer a part of their plans. Despite offloading as many as eight players, Spurs are still looking to ensure they can sanction the departure of two more stars before the window closes.

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham are in talks to offload Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon before tonight’s cut-off time. Both players are surplus to requirements at the North London club and they want to get them off their books as soon as possible.

Lo Celso joined Spurs on an initial loan back in 2019 before the move was made permanent in 2020. Reguilon also arrived at the club in the summer of 2020. Both players were expected to become an integral part of their first team but they have failed to live up to the expectations. They are not in the plans of Ange Postecoglou moving ahead and have been left out of their matchday squads as Spurs look to find a new club for the duo.

With their contracts running out in 12 months, Tottenham prefer a permanent switch but with less than 24 hours remaining, they seem to be open to a loan deal. Real Betis have approached Spurs to re-sign the Argentine international while Spanish and English clubs have enquired about the Spanish full-back.

One of Tottenham’s biggest games of any season

With any new season, the first thing that goes through my mind is what games I might be able to get to. Premier League games have never been as popular and tickets have never been so difficult to obtain. Few fans have the resources or patience to get involved with season tickets and membership schemes. Most fans want to pick one or two games a season and enjoy the big day for what it is, a massive treat. One of my go-to games has to be Spurs v West Ham where it’s not only a London derby, but it’s actually the London derby in my view because games against this rival always have the liveliest of atmospheres.

West Ham and Tottenham very much fall into that ‘Millwall category’ of opponent for this game, in so much neither side likes each other and neither one much cares. That’s not to say these fixtures have any crowd trouble, that’s very much thankfully a thing of the past, it’s more the one that these clashed have significant bragging rights amongst fans, and it’s extremely unusual to experience any quiet games.

Spurs’ stadium has become a subject of discussion amongst fans, with the most common jibe being about the absence of a trophy room, but rest assured in every other department, it eclipses most other football experiences one might come across …in Europe. From food and drink offerings to suit all pockets, to activity and retail options, there’s something for the whole family and all budgets.

West Ham supporters tend to hang their hats on the occasion, and Spurs fans taunt their mockney opponents, suggesting that this fixture is their game is their cup final. That said, the Hammers’ track record is more than respectable.

West Ham and Tottenham have all been handed away ties at the third round stage of the Carabao Cup. The Hammers will face a tough task after being drawn out to face holders Liverpool at Anfield.

Meanwhile, the Lilywhites will head to Championship outfit Coventry City. The Carabao Cup third-round ties will take place the week weeks commencing September 16 and 23.

Some additional spice will be added, by the rumour that was doing the rounds this summer that

The Hammers were interested in signing Dominic Solanke and building a new-look team around him the Englishman, but in May the news broke that Spurs had hijacked West Ham’s ambushed the move for Solanke. It was said that West Ham were willing to double Solanke’s wages, but the all-superior offer from Spurs won out the day.

Tottenham Hotspur are not expected to be highly active on deadline day, according to Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge.

After securing key signings earlier in the transfer window, the North London club are reportedly content with their current squad and are unlikely to make any major moves before the window closes.

Tottenham have already bolstered their squad this summer with the addition of young French winger Wilson Odobert, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, and experienced striker Dominic Solanke. These signings have satisfied most of the club’s main objectives, particularly in strengthening their attacking options, which were a key focus for manager Ange Postecoglou.

The addition of Solanke fulfilled Postecoglou’s desire for an out-and-out striker, while Odobert provides a fresh and dynamic option on the wings, adding depth and versatility to the squad.

And while Bridge admitted that you can never completely rule out a last-minute move from Tottenham, he believes the chances are slim.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Bridge stated:

“I think with Tottenham, you never say never. But my understanding is not to expect a busy deadline day in terms of incomings. They wanted an out-and-out striker, Postecoglou wanted Solanke, they got Solanke. I think they’ve been really impressive.

“What they’ve seen of Archie Gray so far, we also know that Odobert came out of nowhere, but he’s another option. He gives Spurs something a little bit different in the wide areas.”

Their main focus will be on the outgoings, with the club still hoping to seal transfers for Sergio Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso before the deadline.

Tottenham have made a solid start to their campaign, bouncing back from a 1-1 draw against Leicester in the season opener to secure a 4-0 thumping victory against Everton in their next match.

They are set to face Newcastle on Sunday in the final gameweek before the first international break of the season.

As the transfer window approaches its final hours, former Tottenham Hotspur scout Bryan King has urged the club make a decisive move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

This follows recent speculation that Spurs are contemplating entering the race for the French international, with other Premier League clubs also reportedly interested.

King, who has a long history with Spurs, believes that Coman could be a significant asset to the team, particularly if the transfer fee is reasonable.

Speaking to Tottenham News, King emphasised that the player’s experience with a successful club like Bayern Munich could be invaluable for Tottenham as they aim to challenge for major honours under manager Ange Postecoglou.

He highlighted that Coman’s winning mentality and track record at the highest level could provide a crucial boost to Ange Postecoglou’s squad as they look to challenge for major titles.

King said:

“I’d have sooner brought Coman in than Timo Werner. He has been playing with a successful team in Germany. If he is available, and it isn’t going to be silly money, then I would certainly look to bring him in.”

“A good squad is a squad that will hopefully win something, and Coman has that experience. Therefore, it will be interesting to see if that gets done.”

Coman’s career achievements are remarkable. He has won two Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain, one Serie A title with Juventus, and an impressive eight Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich.

Additionally, he was part of Bayern’s 2020 UEFA Champions League-winning squad, scoring the only goal in the final against his former club PSG.

Despite being hampered by injuries last season—missing 21 games—Coman still managed to score five goals and provide three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions. His overall record at Bayern Munich stands at 64 goals and 66 assists in 296 appearances, showcasing his consistency and quality. (Transfermarkt)

The addition of Coman would significantly enhance Tottenham’s attacking options. As they continue to build a competitive squad, this potential signing could offer a crucial boost to Postecoglou’s side, particularly as they look to re-establish themselves as title contenders.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also hinted at a potential surprise involving Coman before the window closes, further fuelling speculation.

Spurs supporters will be watching closely to see if this high-profile signing materializes in the final hours of the transfer window.

Whether Tottenham can secure Coman’s services remains to be seen, but the prospect of adding a player of his calibre to their ranks is certainly an exciting one for the club and its fans.

Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly keen on signing Federico Chiesa this summer.

However, a report from TBR Football claims that the 26-year-old Italian international snubbed the opportunity to join the North London club in favour of a move to Liverpool.

The winger turned down approaches from Arsenal and Chelsea as well before completing a €15 million (£13m) move to the Reds.

🚨🔴 Liverpool and Juventus are signing all documents right now for Federico Chiesa deal.

Chiesa will look to prove himself in the Premier League with Liverpool and it remains to be seen whether the Italian can hit the ground running. Meanwhile, Spurs have strengthened their attacking unit with the signings of Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert. They will hope the two players can help them improve.

Even though Chiesa has turned them down, they have adequate depth in the attack and Ange Postecoglou will be happy with the options at his disposal.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs can do well this season and push for Champions League qualification. They will be expected to do well in the domestic trophies as well. Spurs will compete in the UEFA Europa League and they have the means to do well in the competition as well.

Tottenham showed great improvement under Postecoglou last season and they will look to build on that this season. They have brought in quality players and the fans will expect impressive performances. If their new signings manage to hit the ground running, Spurs could be a real force this season.

Giovani Lo Celso is poised to leave Tottenham after struggling for playing time under Ange Postecoglou.

Lo Celso’s future has been uncertain since the start of the transfer window. Despite playing a part in Argentina’s Copa America win, the attacking midfielder is not in plans of Tottenham going ahead and according to a report from Estadio Deportivo, the Argentine international is all set to part ways with the club on the back of Ange Postecoglou’s unfulfilled promise from last season.

Lo Celso was expected to be on the move last summer after having spent 18 months out on loan but the Australian manager wanted him around and promised him enough minutes. But, he couldn’t deliver as the 28-year-old was involved in 24 matches but he was on the pitch for less than 600 minutes.

After having struggled for minutes last season, Lo Celso is pushing hard to leave the club. With his contract running out, Tottenham are also ready to sanction his departure. But, nothing concrete has happened so far.

Meanwhile, he has been left out of the Spurs squad for the opening fixtures of the season despite being fully fit and as confirmed by those close to the player, the club and the player are no longer on the same page.

While he was linked with a move to Aston Villa, it hasn’t gone through and according to the report, the Argentine has practically decided that his time in England is over. He is on the lookout for an ideal destination for himself but is not looking to return to his homeland yet. He wants to continue in Europe with Spain being the preferred destination.

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to offer a new five-year contract to young talent Mikey Moore, according to club insider John Wenham.

Moore, who turns 18 next year, is expected to receive this new deal as soon as he reaches the milestone.

Mikey Moore, regarded as one of the top talents in the country and possibly the best at the U17 level, has already made a significant impact at Spurs.

Last season, he was a standout performer in the U18 Premier League, making 22 goal contributions in 12 games (14 goals and 8 assists).

Having joined Tottenham as a U9 player, Moore has rapidly advanced through the ranks, playing key roles in the U17 and U18 teams.

His contributions were instrumental in securing league titles for Tottenham’s youth sides during the 2022-23 season.

Under the guidance of manager Ange Postecoglou, Moore has been involved with the first team and had a notable pre-season, scoring six goals and assisting two.

Wenham believes that the club is already preparing to offer him a new five-year contract upon his 18th birthday, acknowledging his potential and importance to the club’s future.

Wenham told Tottenham News:

“They will have a brand-new contract offer ready, without question.”

“I imagine that as soon as he turns 18, they will instantly put a five-year contract on the table. They know he is the country’s best 17-year-old.”

“I can see him making a serious impact at first-team level this season, especially in the UEFA Europa League. He is the sort of player that I imagine once he gets his chance, it will be very difficult to take him out of the limelight.”

“Fans, pundits and fellow players will all realise how incredible he is, and that he needs to be involved. Therefore, it would be hard to drop him back in with the Under-21s.”

“When he does get the chance to play, he will establish himself. It is just a matter of when, not if.”

Wenham predicts that Moore will make a serious impact at the first-team level this season, particularly in the UEFA Europa League.

His talent is expected to become increasingly recognised, making it difficult to drop him back to the Under-21s once he gets his chance

Securing Moore on a long-term deal would be a significant move for Tottenham, reflecting their commitment to nurturing their brightest young stars and ensuring their future success.
