Club director reveals Tottenham summer signing rejected Premier League rivals for Spurs

South Korean wonder kid Min-hyuk Yang became Tottenham’s latest signing with the club announcing the deal earlier today.

Tottenham have not made a whole lot of noise this transfer window despite being linked with a number of players, including some big names.

Their biggest transfer this window has been the signing of Archie Gray from Leeds United. Other than that, they have only extended Timo Werner’s loan for another year and officially welcomed Lucas Bergvall to the side after agreeing a deal for him in January.

Yang is another 18-year-old they have added to the squad. The youngster had been making waves in the Korean league which attracted interest from Spurs.

However, his former club Gangwon’s director has revealed that Tottenham were not the only top club after him.

As per him, another top 6 Premier League club was interested in securing his services. However, the player himself preferred to join the North London side over them.

Speaking on YouTube, he said:

“It is true that another big 6 PL team that recently won the UCL had also enquired about Yang. That team had nice plans about Yang’s development and had approached us earlier than Spurs.

But what I didn’t realize at the time was that Yang had his heart set on Spurs I even asked him if he wanted to go to that other club, but Yang straightly refused, saying he wanted to only join Spurs.

To make it clear, it was Yang, rather than Gangwon, who made the choice to pick Tottenham as his next club. I respected the player’s wish.”

TBH says:

This revelation means that yet another youngster has opted to sign for Spurs over other big clubs.

Previously Lucas Bergvall rejected Barcelona and Radu Dragusin turned down Bayern Munich for the Lilywhites.

This speaks volume of the progress that has been made behind the scenes. It also shows just how big an effect Ange has had on convincing players to join his side.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa in recent weeks.

According to a report from Sport Mediaset via CalcioNapoli24, the 26-year-old Italian international is set to leave Juventus this summer and he could join Tottenham for a fee of around €30-€35 million.

Roma and Napoli have been linked with the player as well, but Chiesa is set to leave Italian football this summer.

The report states that the 26-year-old is ‘close to Tottenham’ and it remains to be seen whether the North London club can get the deal done.

They could certainly use more quality and depth in the attacking unit and Chiesa should prove to be a superb acquisition. He has proven his quality in the Italian league and he has the technical and physical attributes to thrive in the Premier League as well.

Players like Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski have not been at their best in recent months and Spurs need more quality and cutting edge in the final third.

The 26-year-old will add creativity, goals and pace to their attack.

Chiesa has managed to get over his injury problems and he will look to make his mark in English football if the move goes through. Tottenham have an ambitious project and a talented squad. They have appointed a charismatic manager in Ange Postecoglou as well.

It remains to be seen whether they can do well in the Premier League and the UEFA Europa league next season.

The North London club will be hoping to push for domestic trophies and they will look to secure Champions League qualification in the upcoming campaign. Signing players like Chiesa will be a step in the right direction.

Sevilla could sign Tottenham duo Sergio Reguilon and Bryan Gil ahead of next season.

While Tottenham have successfully extended the stay of loanee Timo Werner and have signed Lucas Bergvall as well as Archie Gray, there is still a lot of work to be done by the North London club before the transfer window closes. Apart from the signings that they need to make, there will be a few key departures to make room on their wage bill.

Sergio Reguilon and Bryan Gil are two players who are surplus to requirements at Tottenham and according to a report from Vamosmisevillafc, Sevilla have been offered the chance to sign the Spanish duo.

Reguilon has spent the last two seasons out on loan and with his contract running out in 12 months, Spurs are looking to recoup a part of what they had invested to bring him to the club. He is not a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans moving forward and his agents have trying to find him a new club.

Sevilla need a new left-back as they are not confident enough about Adrià Pedrosa being the go-to man at the back. With Marcos Acuña’s future uncertain as the player is keen on a move away, they have been offered the chance to sign Reguilon. His agents have contacted the Spanish club’s sporting management to offer them his services.

Since he played for them during the 2019/20 season, Sevilla already know a lot about the 27-year-old full-back. They have also been linked with Bryan Gil who came up their ranks before joining Spurs in 2021. The move to the North London club hasn’t worked out for him as he has struggled to establish himself in their first team.

Last season, he only had 233 minutes of first-team football. While he still has two years left on his contract with Tottenham, they are willing to sanction his departure and Sevilla have the opportunity to sign the Spanish attacking sensation.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal might finally be heading to AC Milan after a summer filled with speculation.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin (via Milan News24), the chances of Milan securing a deal for Emerson are ‘on the rise‘ after it initially seemed the Italian club had shifted focus elsewhere.

Bianchin noted that positive developments have occurred in Milan’s lengthy pursuit of the Brazilian full-back, with ongoing dialogue between Milan, Tottenham, and Emerson.

The 25-year-old defender has been linked with a move away from Spurs throughout the summer transfer window. Milan emerged as a frontrunner, but negotiations had stalled over Tottenham’s asking price.

Emerson has reportedly already agreed on personal terms for a move to Italy, which includes a five-year contract worth €3 million annually.

The former Barcelona right-back, who has two years remaining on his contract with the Lilywhites, has struggled to secure a regular spot in Spurs’ starting lineup. Last season, he made just 11 Premier League starts, highlighting his status as a secondary option in the squad.

Emerson’s potential move to Serie A could benefit all parties involved. For Tottenham, it would mean offloading a player who has not fully integrated into Ange Postecoglou’s plans. For Milan, it would strengthen their defence with a player eager for more regular playing time.

As the transfer window progresses, both clubs will be working to finalise terms that satisfy all sides. Spurs hope that Emerson’s departure can facilitate new arrivals and further strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.

Former star feels signing 28-year-old could help Tottenham ‘get back into the top four’

Alan Hutton feels signing Ivan Toney could help Tottenham reclaim a top-four spot next season.

Since Harry Kane left Tottenham to join Bayern Munich last summer, Spurs have been playing without a proper out-and-out number nine. In his first season in charge, Ange Postecoglou was asked to cope with the absence of their record goal scorer. The former Celtic manager surely did a great job with the help of Son Heung-min and Richarlison who were used up top as the strikers.

While scoring goals wasn’t that big a problem for them last time out, Postecoglou seems keen on having a new striker lead his attack next season. Former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton feels his former clubs need a world-class striker to take the next step and he believes Ivan Toney is the guy who can help them secure a top-four place next season.

While talking to Tottenham News, the 39-year-old said: “I just feel that could be a better fit. He’s in London already, a big London club is coming in for him and they’re crying out for a striker I think for me personally. They need that guy who is going to score 20-plus goals for them that is going to help them get back into the top four.”

Toney has been linked with a move to the North London club for months now but nothing concrete has developed so far. Hutton feels Spurs need a striker who can guarantee 20-plus goals a season and the Brentford forward could just be the perfect fit even though he didn’t end the 2023/24 season in the best possible way.

After returning from the ban, he was involved in 17 league matches and could only score four goals. But, having done wonders in the Premier League back in the day, Toney can surely succeed in Postecoglou’s system which focuses on playing an attacking brand of football.

Hutton believes a move to Tottenham will give the English international regular first-team action something that is a priority for him and it will help him continue in London. More importantly, his arrival will give Spurs an edge that will help them reclaim a top-four spot next season.

While Toney could be keen on joining Tottenham, they first need to strike a deal with Brentford which is not going to be easy. Despite him having just a year left on his deal, the Bees still want a significant fee to let their ace leave. However, Spurs can put the pressure back on Brentford as this might be their final opportunity to cash in on the 28-year-old who could leave for free next summer.

Ange Postecoglou has asked Tottenham directors to sign Arsenal target Federico Chiesa before the start of the 2024/25 season.

Tottenham have been quite busy in the ongoing transfer window. While they have already done some quality transfer business, there is still a lot of work to be done. Despite having extended the loan spell of Timo Werner, Ange Postecoglou still seeks more quality out wide on the flanks.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, the Australian manager has asked Tottenham’s hierarchy to sign Juventus star winger Federico Chiesa. He wants them to prioritise the Italian winger’s transfer.

While he hasn’t been at his best for some time now, the Italian international is only 26 and still has a lot of time to turn things around.

His arrival could do wonders for Tottenham. Not only will he add more quality on the left flank allowing Postecoglou the freedom to use Son Heung-min in a more central role, Chiesa’s versatility will give the former Celtic boss quite a few tactical options.

With his contract at the Turin-based club running out in 12 months, the Serie A outfit are trying hard to extend his stay at the club. But, the player is aware of the interest in him from the Premier League and is waiting to see what proposals are on offer before making a decision.

Thanks to his contract situation, the 26-year-old winger is expected to be available for between €20-€25 million which surely won’t be a problem for Spurs. However, they might have to face serious competition from rivals Arsenal who are also keen on Chiesa’s signature.

Mikel Arteta wants someone who can compete with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard for a place in the starting XI. The Juventus winger is high on his wishlist and they can make life difficult for Tottenham.

AC Milan are gearing up to make a decisive move for Emerson Royal this weekend.

The Brazilian international’s future has been the talk of the town for some time now. While he is only 25 and still has two years left on his deal at Tottenham, Emerson doesn’t have a future at the North London club. Despite his qualities, Ange Postecoglou doesn’t consider him to be an ideal fit for his team.

With Spurs ready to negotiate his departure, AC Milan have been working hard to sign the former Barcelona full-back. The talks did stall in between but the Italian giants are back and according to a report from TuttoSport, Milan are looking to make a big move for his services.

Emerson was an integral part of their first team before the arrival of Postecoglou last summer. While he was involved in 24 matches last season, the majority of his appearances were because of an injury crisis at the back. Tottenham are ready to sell the 25-year-old but they are looking to raise a significant fee and won’t let him leave on the cheap.

The price tag has been a problem for Milan right from the start. While they did take a back seat in negotiation earlier in the window, the Italian club have returned with a lot more determination. A recent report revealed that there is only a €5 million difference in the valuation of both clubs which suggests a potential transfer is very close.

Milan have now decided to go hard to complete his signing during the weekend. They are expected to make a significant effort to bring the Brazilian full-back to Italy.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race to secure the signing of Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres.

According to Football Insider, Spurs have registered their interest in the prolific forward, entering a competitive field that also includes Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Since joining Sporting from Coventry City for £16.9m last summer, Gyokeres has been a standout performer.

He made a significant impact in the Portuguese top flight, scoring an impressive 43 goals and providing 15 assists in 50 games across all competitions.

The 26-year-old striker finished his first season at Sporting as the Primeira Liga’s top scorer with 29 goals. His remarkable form earned him multiple accolades, including several consecutive Primeira Liga Player of the Month awards and a spot in the Team of the Year for the 2023-24 season.

With a substantial £86 million release clause and four years remaining on his contract until 2028, negotiating a deal for Gyokeres will be challenging for any interested Premier League club.

However, his proven goal-scoring abilities and consistent performance have made him one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.

Tottenham are eager to strengthen their attacking options, and signing a striker of Gyokeres’ calibre would be a significant boost.

The interest from top clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea highlights the high regard in which Gyokeres is held.

As Spurs continue to enhance their squad, the addition of Gyokeres could provide the firepower needed to compete at the highest level.

Tottenham continue to be linked with a move for Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

He has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs since several months.

And now the player has recently hinted at a potential summer move, but only to a club that aligns with his ambitious career goals.

Under contract with Feyenoord until June 2027, the Buenos Aires-born forward has had a stellar run in the Eredivisie.

Last season, he emerged as the third-highest goalscorer in the league, netting 23 goals and contributing 6 assists in 30 appearances.

Since joining the club, he has scored 49 and assisted 11 in 86 appearances.

His standout performances have increased his market value to around €40 million.

The Mexican international has attracted interest from several clubs in England, Spain, and Italy. He confirmed that while there is interest, no concrete offers have been presented.

Gimenez remains committed to his role at Feyenoord but is open to exploring opportunities that align with the Dutch club’s stature and his personal ambitions.

He confirmed that interest from several clubs without naming any, and hinted that he will be considering a move away if there is a right opportunity.

His statements indicate a clear ambition and loyalty to Feyenoord, demonstrating his professional attitude by committing to give his best for the club until a suitable offer comes along.

Speaking to Voetbal Primeur, as quoted by TEAMtalk, Gimenez said:

“There is interest from other clubs, but nothing serious, no offer or anything like that. So, I focus on the here and now.

“If there is an opportunity which compares to Feyenoord, then I have to look at it. After that, we’ll see. I’m an ambitious person, but I’m still here and I have a contract. I’ll do my best for the club until the last day I’m here.

“The only one who knows whether I am ready for the next step or not is God. He determines my future and whether I am ready for it. I have told (CEO) Dennis [te Kloese] and (manager Brian [Priske] that they do not have to worry about my focus.”

Gimenez’s goal-scoring ability and potential for further development make him an ideal candidate for Tottenham.

The 23-year-old’s addition would significantly strengthen Spurs’ attacking options, complementing the existing talent and providing much-needed depth to the squad.

As the transfer window advances, Tottenham will hope to secure Gimenez’s signature, aiming to bring one of Europe’s most promising strikers to North London to bolster their attack for the upcoming season.

Tottenham Hotspur are working towards resolving the futures of players not central to their plans, with Bryan Gil being a prime example.

Spurs are reportedly close to finalising a deal to loan Gil to Girona.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the agreement is nearly complete.

The arrangement will see Gil extend his current contract with Tottenham, which will then include a €15 million release clause.

Girona will have the first option to sign him permanently, but other clubs can also negotiate if Gil decides not to stay.

Negotiations between Spurs and Girona have advanced significantly, with both parties ironing out the final details. Gil is eager to join Girona, and he is expected to arrive on Monday.

Bryan Gil has been seeking regular playing time, which has been hard to come by at Tottenham.

He was notably absent from the club’s pre-season tour of Japan and Korea, as he was given permission to stay behind and explore transfer opportunities.

The Lilywhites have several strong options on the wings, including Son Heung-min, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kulusevski. This depth has limited Gil’s opportunities for regular time.

As the loan move to Girona nears completion, Tottenham fans hope for a favourable outcome.
