Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their midfield unit with the signing of Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco.

According to Football Insider, the London club have already expressed interest in signing the player but they will face competition from Italian giants AC Milan. Milan are currently in talks with the French outfit for the 25-year-old, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get the deal done.

They need to add more quality and depth in the middle of the park and the French midfielder would be the ideal acquisition. He is in the final year of his contract with Monaco and he could be available for a reasonable price this summer.

He will add physicality and defensive cover to the Tottenham midfield, and he could be the ideal replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has been linked with an exit from Tottenham.

The 25-year-old French midfielder has the physical and technical attributes to adapt to English football and he will look to establish himself as a player for Tottenham if the move goes through.

It is no secret that Tottenham need more quality in the midfield, and it remains to be seen whether they can bring in the right reinforcements before the transfer window closes. Apart from a physically imposing midfielder like Fofana, they should look to invest in a creative midfielder as well who can recycle possesion and control the tempo of the game from the deep.

Tottenham will look to compete for trophies next season, and they need to plug the gaps in their midfield this summer. Signing the right players will help them compete with the best teams in the country.

Tottenham are keen on the Manchester City defender Yan Couto.

The 22-year-old was on loan at Spanish club Girona last season and he had an impressive campaign with them. The defender produced 10 assists in all competitions and a report from Fichajes claims that Tottenham have shown ‘strong interest’ in the player this summer.

The defender is reportedly valued at €25 million, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham come forward with an offer to sign in. They could certainly use more depth in the right-back department. Emerson Royal has been linked to the move away from the club, and he will need to be replaced this summer. Couto would be the ideal replacement for his compatriot.

He is unlikely to get regular game time at Manchester City and if Tottenham can provide him with the right assurances, he is likely to be attracted to join the London club.

Tottenham will be hoping to push for trophies and Champions League qualification next season and they need better players are their disposal.

Couto could prove to be a quality acquisition. Apart from his defensive skills, he could add a new dimension to their attack going forward. The 22-year-old Brazilian is only going to improve with coaching and experience, and he could develop into a key player for the club.

If Spurs can sign him for a reasonable price this summer, the deal could look like a master stroke in the long-term. Aston Villa are keen on signing the defender as well and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest on last night’s news regarding Tottenham’s player-plus-cash bid for Jacob Ramsey.

It was reported last night that Villa have rejected an offer from Spurs for the midfielder, a deal which included Giovani Lo Celso.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the report and stated that Spurs’ interest in Ramsey was concrete and the club did indeed make an offer.

The North London outfit had reportedly offered a player-plus-cash swap deal several weeks ago, proposing £20 million along with Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso in exchange for the talented midfielder.

Romano confirmed that Aston Villa promptly rejected Tottenham’s proposal, underscoring their determination to retain the 23-year-old midfielder.

Ramsey, a product of Aston Villa’s esteemed youth academy, has flourished under Unai Emery, becoming a pivotal figure known for his stellar performances.

For Tottenham, the pursuit of Ramsey is seen as a strategic manoeuvre to inject youthful energy and creative prowess into their midfield ranks.

However, Romano clarified that the bid involving Lo Celso and cash was not recent but occurred weeks ago, highlighting the ongoing nature of Spurs’ efforts to strengthen their squad.

The journalist also suggested that Lo Celso is likely to depart Tottenham during the upcoming summer transfer window, with potential interest from clubs such as Real Betis being explored.

Speaking on Playback, Romano said:

“What I can tell is, this story of Tottenham making a bid to Aston Villa for Ramsey including a player, Gio Lo Celso, and money, is a bid they made, yes.

“But, it was weeks ago, not this week and not even last week. It was weeks ago. Aston Villa immediately said no.

“Gio Lo Celso has very good chances to leave Tottenham in the summer transfer window. I think Gio Lo Celso will leave Tottenham, this is my feeling.

“Still exploring the options, Betis are there, Unai Emery knows him well, there are several opportunities, but he will leave the club.”

As negotiations unfold amid the ongoing transfer window, Tottenham face the challenge of navigating Aston Villa’s firm stance regarding Ramsey’s availability.

Whether they return with an improver bid for the Villa man or turn their attention elsewhere remains to be seen.

Tottenham might be aiming to secure a substantial fee for their captain Heung-min Son this summer, according to former Spurs defender and BBC pundit Alan Hutton.

The club could consider renewing the South Korean star’s contract by activating an extension clause.

Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton emphasised the strategic importance of not letting Son’s contract run down.

The 31-year-old attacker’s current deal extends until 2025, with an option for Tottenham to prolong it by an additional 12 months. However, the club has yet to make an official decision regarding this clause.

Hutton believes that triggering the extension would be a wise move for Spurs, ensuring they can maximise Son’s transfer value if a future sale becomes necessary.

He commented on Son’s critical role at Tottenham, highlighting his significant contributions both as a striker and from the left wing.

“I think the club has put the clause in his contract to safeguard them. They’ll go and take that option up. It’s happening, 100%. He’s huge for Spurs.

That will give you two seasons – and if someone comes in for him in that time, you can get a fee that Tottenham feel he is valued at.”

“I think he’s still got a lot to give, whether that’s in the striker position or from the left. We don’t know what Tottenham are going to do with the striker position.

We’ve had the rumours linking them with Toney, and I don’t know how true that is. We need options.

“But Son is the captain, and to let him run down his contract – I don’t think it makes sense for anybody.”

Son has been an important figure at Spurs since joining the club.

And under manager Ange Postecoglou last season, he stepped up his game as captain, filling in the void left by Kane and finishing as Spurs’ top scorer with 17 goals and 10 assists in 35 Premier League appearances .

His performance underscored his importance to the team, both in terms of leadership and attacking prowess.

Since joining the club, he has scored 162 goals and assisted another 84 in 408 games.

Currently in the final year of his contract, Son’s future at Tottenham remains uncertain despite ongoing discussions about a possible extension.

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace and reports claim that they have an advantage in the transfer chase.

Ange Postecoglou is looking to reinforce his squad ahead of next season. He wants to execute a major overhaul to ensure they have the needed quality as well as depth to compete with the best teams in the country. In order to add more firepower to their ranks, they are interested in acquiring the services of Eberechi Eze.

According to a report from Football London, Tottenham have an advantage in the race to sign the Crystal Palace star.

The 25-year-old is represented by Base agency which also happens to be the agency that manages Postecoglou, Son Heung-min, James Maddison, Pedro Porro, Pape Matar Sarr, and others at the club. This will surely help them when they look to convince Eze about a move to North London.

Eze has had an impressive rise since making the move to the Eagles back in 2020. He had an impressive end to the 2023/24 season which helped him book a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.

While Eze prefers playing as an attacking midfielder, he is capable enough to feature on either flank. His versatility along with his ability to create chances and score goals, are major reasons why Spurs are interested in his services. They feel he can compete with James Maddison for a place in the starting XI and even cover for the wingers when needed. His arrival could give their manager more tactical options.

With Michale Olise leaving, Crystal Palace do not want to negotiate Eze’s departure. But, they might not have an option if Spurs end up triggering his release clause which is worth £60 million. Postecoglou is a huge admirer of the English international and it remains to be seen whether Spurs can get the deal done.

Canada’s Jonathan David is quite high on Tottenham’s transfer wishlist for this summer.

Canada secured their first-ever win at the Copa America on Tuesday against Peru as Jonathan David scored the winner in the 74th minute. While he is currently focused on helping his nation go a long way at the continental tournament, there is a lot of talk going on about his future.

According to a report from Football.London, David is quite high on Tottenham’s list of targets for this summer. The North London club are desperate to bring in a new number nine as they look for a long-term replacement for Harry Kane who left last summer.

Their record goal scorer joined Bayern Munich and they decided against signing a replacement last time out. While they did cope well without him, Ange Postecoglou now feels bringing in a top forward will help them take the next step. They have been following David for some time now thanks to his exceptional numbers in Ligue 1. The 24-year-old has scored 26 goals in each of the last two seasons and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

While Spurs do have other targets, David seems to be an ideal fit for them. Not only will he fit into Postecoglou’s style of play, but the Canadian international could be available for a cut-price fee because of his contract situation.

His current deal runs out in just over 12 months and the report suggests that he could be available for just £20 million. Tottenham are always on the lookout for opportunities to sign top players on bargain fees and this surely seems to be too good an opportunity to miss out on.

Tottenham might have already submitted an offer for the services of Espanyol shot-stopper Joan Garcia.

While Guglielmo Vicario has done a decent job in goal for Tottenham, it seems the North London club want to add more depth in that position. They are interested in the services of Joan Garcia and according to a report from AS, they might have already tabled an offer to bring him to England.

Garcia has had an impressive rise at Espanyol, he was promoted to their first team in 2021. The 23-year-old finally got an extended run in the first team towards the end of the last season and he didn’t disappoint. He was involved in 21 games and managed to keep a clean sheet in 12 outings. He played a big part in helping them gain promotion to the Spanish top flight.

His impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed and Spurs are the ones keen on signing him. They added Vicario to their ranks last summer for €17.5 million from Empoli. While he has done a decent overall job, certain weaknesses in his game have been highlighted on multiple occasions. To further bolster their defence, Ange Postecoglou is looking to add another goalkeeper to the mix and they feel Garcia could be a great signing for the short as well as long run. He could compete with Vicario for a place in the starting XI.

The Spanish goalkeeper’s contract with the club runs until the summer of 2028. Espanyol are keen on keeping him in their ranks and the player is also in no hurry to leave the club as he is excited to be their number one in the Spanish top flight.

But, he is tempted by Tottenham’s interest in his services. The report suggests that they might have already submitted an offer for the 23-year-old who has a €25 million release clause. Espanyol have a clear stance on his future, they won’t sell unless the offer equals the release clause or is just slightly on the lower side.

Tottenham have reportedly made an offer for Newcastle strike Alexander Isak.

Spurs are actively seeking a replacement for their current centre-forward, Richarlison, with a new striker.

However, their recent efforts have hit a roadblock as Newcastle United rejected Spurs’ proposal involving a player-plus-cash deal for the Magpies hitman.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Lilywhites pursued a deal that would see Richarlison and potentially some cash exchanged for Isak, but Newcastle switfly turned it down.

The Swedish international is currently under a long-term contract with Newcastle, with four years remaining. He has made a significant impact since his £63 million transfer from Real Sociedad in August 2022.

The 24-year-old had an impressive campaign in the Premier League last season, scoring 21 goals in 30 appearances, making him the third-highest scorer in the division behind only Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer.

Due to Isak’s stellar performances, Newcastle places high value on him and plans to retain him at St. James’ Park.

To sign Isak, Spurs would need to break their club transfer record. The club, meanwhile, is also open to offers for Richarlison, who joined from Everton in July 2022 for £60 million.

Despite demonstrating potential, Richarlison has struggled with injuries and inconsistent form, prompting the Lilywhites to consider selling him if a substantial offer is received.

The 27-year-old missed 10 games last season due to injuries, and even when fit, he often failed to deliver the expected impact.

Although Richarlison’s contract extends until June 2027, Tottenham are prepared to part ways with the Brazilian forward, who has yet to fulfil his potential at the club.
