Description

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal appears to be edging closer to a departure from North London this summer.

He has fallen down the pecking order since Pedro Porro joined the club. The Spaniard has established himself as the key member of Ange’s squad, reducing Royal’s role to the bench.

Amid the ongoing interest from Milan, the Brazilian international has now spoken about the ongoing speculation.

Emerson acknowledged Milan’s interest and the ongoing discussions but clarified that no concrete negotiations with Spurs have taken place yet.

Having found limited starting opportunities under manager Ange Postecoglou last season, Emerson admitted that the prospect of joining the Italian giants is attractive.

He noted Milan’s historical connection with Brazilian players, which adds to the appeal of a potential transfer.

Despite having a contract that runs until June 2026, the right-back does not seem to fit into Postecoglou’s long-term plans.

Reports indicate that discussions between Milan and Emerson’s agent, Stefano Castagna, are progressing positively.

Serie A club views the defender as a valuable addition to their squad, aiming to enhance their defensive options.

Emerson himself addressed these rumours in an interview on Andre Hernan’s YouTube channel, confirming his willingness to the move if it materialises.

Royal said:

“The truth is that I still don’t have anything defined. Obviously, to know that Milan is in conversation with the club [Spurs], they are looking for information on me.

“For me, it is very gratifying because Milan is a team known for having Brazilian players, right. We know there have been some great Brazilians to have played for them. Let’s wait and see what’s going to happen.”

Tottenham has set a £20 million valuation for Emerson, which aligns with his current market value. This amount is considered reasonable for Milan, who are looking for a dependable full-back.

The coming weeks will likely determine where Emerson’s future lies. If the transfer happens, Spurs aim to use funds from his sale to strengthen their squad, particularly by signing a versatile defender.

Tottenham are front-runners for the signature of Liverpool target Lutsharel Geertruida.

The North London club are looking at ways to further bolster their squad ahead of next season as they aim to finish inside the top four. They are interested in the services of Liverpool target Lutsharel Geertruida and according to a report from the Mirror, Tottenham are in pole position to sign him.

Geertruida has had a sensational rise at Feyenoord, he has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2018 and has been one of their most consistent players in recent years. The Dutch full-back had 14 goal contributions in his 47 outings last season.

With his contract running out in 12 months’ time, there has been a lot of talk about his future. Liverpool are one of the clubs that have been heavily linked with the 23-year-old following the appointment of Arne Slot as the new manager of the Reds.

With the former Feyenoord boss taking over at Anfield, Geertruida has been linked with a move to the Merseyside club. While Slot is a big admirer of the Dutch international who can feature as a full-back, a centre-back and even as a defensive midfielder, he is unwilling to make him his first signing at Liverpool.

Having seen Erik ten Hag get criticised for signing players from Eredivisie, Slot is reluctant and it has open the path for Spurs who are looking to bolster the right-back position with Emerson Royal’s departure highly likely.

They want to bring in a top quality player who can bolster their ranks and Geertruida will surely be a valuable addition thanks to his versatility. With just a year left on his deal, Feyenoord value the 23-year-old at £25 million which could be considered as a bargain fee by Spurs given the potential and quality of the Dutch international.

Description

Former Premier League star Rio Ferdinand has praised Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, as England’s standout defender at Euro 2024.

The 23-year-old Guehi, whose contract with Crystal Palace extends until June 2026, has emerged as a key player for both his club and country.

His impressive performances have sparked interest from several top clubs, including Tottenham.

Guehi’s standout moment came during England’s 1-0 victory over Serbia in their opening group game.

He completed 51 out of 53 passes, boasting a 96% accuracy rate. Additionally, he won all his ground duels, made four recoveries, and contributed two clearances, showcasing his defensive prowess.

His solid form continued in England’s 1-1 draw against Denmark, despite the team’s overall uninspiring performance. Guehi’s consistency at the back has not gone unnoticed.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand highlighted Guehi’s impact at the tournament, stating:

“There’s all these players that we still don’t know if they’re going to be good enough, but they’re here.”

“Even Guehi, Guehi’s been brilliant, been our best defender, but we didn’t know really, did we, what he was going to be like because he doesn’t get a good amount of time to play and have minutes.”

Guehi’s international success mirrors his strong showing last season with Crystal Palace.

Despite a knee injury that sidelined him for nearly three months, he made 25 Premier League appearances, starting 23 of those games and even captaining the team in several matches.

His leadership and defensive skills have made him a valuable asset to Palace.

With Tottenham reportedly interested in securing Guehi’s services, his future remains a topic of significant speculation.

However, the defender is currently focusing on England’s Euro 2024 campaign in Germany and will delay any decisions about his club future until after the tournament.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is keen to depart from the club this summer, with several top clubs showing interest in his services.

Among these suitors, AC Milan has emerged as a prominent contender for the Danish international’s signature.

According to sources from Football Insider, Hojbjerg has communicated his desire to leave North London to his friends.

His agent has already initiated discussions with multiple clubs, including AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli.

Hojbjerg’s frustration with his limited playing time under manager Ange Postecoglou has become apparent.

Despite making 36 appearances last season, he started only 8 Premier League games, driving his search for regular playing time elsewhere.

This decision aligns with Postecoglou’s plans, as the manager is reportedly open to Hojbjerg’s departure, seeing him as not fitting into the long-term vision for the team.

The potential transfer fee for the defensive midfielder is around €20 million, which AC Milan views as an affordable investment for a player of his calibre.

As Hojbjerg enters the final year of his contract, set to expire in June next year, Tottenham is open to his sale, aiming to generate funds for new signings.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Fiorentina defender Michael Kayode.

According to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham are ‘thinking of’ making a move for the 19-year-old wide player.

Kayode is naturally a right-back but he can operate as the right-sided winger as well. He could prove to be the ideal replacement for Emerson Royal if the Brazilian decides to move on. He has been linked with a move to AC Milan in recent weeks.

Emerson Royal needs to leave Tottenham in order to play regularly and a move to AC Milan would be ideal for him

Tottenham will have to replace him adequately this summer and Kayode seems like the ideal acquisition. The 19-year-old has the quality to develop into a key player for the North London club. In the meantime, he will be able to compete with Pedro Porro for the starting spot.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be an attractive one for the young defender and it remains to be seen whether Fiorentina are prepared to sell him. He has a contract with them until 2028 and the Italian outfit will want to hold onto him for the long term. Even if they decide to sell him this summer, he is likely to cost the premium.

Tottenham will want to secure Champions League qualification next season and they will look to fight for trophies as well. It will be interesting to see if they can bring in the right reinforcements and strengthen the squad adequately.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Rennes winger Desire Doue.

The 19-year-old is highly rated in French football and he has been linked with the move away from Rennes this summer. According to a report from Give Me Sport, the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are keen on the winger as well.

Tottenham need more quality and depth in the wide areas and the 19-year-old could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition. He will add goals and creativity from the wide areas.

The winger has the quality and the potential to develop into an important first-team player for Tottenham with the right guidance. The opportunity to play in English football will be an attractive one for him and he will hope that the two clubs can secure an agreement soon.

However, the report states that the asking price could rise to £60 million and it seems highly unlikely that Tottenham will agree to pay that kind of money for the player. They need to improve their attacking unit, but they will have to bring in quality additions in the other areas of the squad as well. Spending £60 million on a winger might not be possible for them this summer.

It will be interesting to see if Rennes are willing to lower their demands in the coming weeks. The 19-year-old is highly rated across Europe and he has the potential to justify the investment in the long run. It remains to be seen whether clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United are willing to come forward and pay the asking price for him.

Tottenham are working to finalise a deal for Brentford striker Ivan Toney as the upcoming transfer window approaches

It was recently reported that Spurs had a £40m bid rejected for the Brentford star, with the club looking for a fee close £65m.

Former Tottenham man Alan Hutton has claimed that Spurs will aim to agree various add-ons to complete the transfer, potentially bringing the total fee to around £50-55 million.

He believes that this valuation is fair for a player of Toney’s calibre. He noted that the Lilywhites’ initial low bid and Brentford’s high asking price are typical in transfer negotiations, with the final fee often landing somewhere in between.

The add-ons could include criteria such as scoring a certain number of goals in the Champions League or for the England national team, thereby increasing the overall fee.

Hutton believes that if Toney can achieve 20-plus goals per season, with the quality of supply at Spurs, he could be a transformative player for the club.

Speaking to Tottenham News, Hutton said:

“I think that’s a good number, I understand Tottenham, I know how they work, they go in low, Brentford go high and you meet somewhere in the middle, that’s what happens in every move in football.

“If they can get around the £50-55million mark, I mean he’s 28, I know he had a slow end to the season when he came back from his ban – I think it was 17 games he only scored three or four goals – but we know what he’s capable of that was through what happened before and he’ll learn from that.

“If they can get in the building, look there could even be some add-ons if he goes and scores ‘X’ amount of goals in the Champions League or for England or whatever you can kind of bulk up the fee.

“But I think that’s a good number, he’ll make the difference for them if scores 20-plus goals a season, which with the supply he’s going to get I think he will, he could be the difference maker.”

This comes despite club insider Paul O’Keefe and Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, both dismissing the reports of any bid from Tottenham.

It has also been reported that a move for a new striker could depend on Richarlison’s situation at the club.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are successful in their bid to sign a new striker.

Description

Tottenham are set to table an offer for the services of Fenerbahce attacking midfielder Sebastian Szymanski.

The Polish international has made quite a name for himself on the back of his consistent performances and multiple top clubs are ready to knock on Fenerbahce’s door for his signature.

According to a report from Aslinda, Tottenham are interested in Sebastian Szymanski’s services and they are all set to submit a £17 million offer for him.

After spending the 2022/23 season on loan at Feyenoord, Szymanski made a permanent switch to Fenerbahce last summer. He has since featured in 55 matches and has contributed towards 32 goals (13 goals, 19 assists). His impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed and there is interest from the likes of Tottenham, Lazio as well as Marseille.

Spurs have the best financial situation among the three clubs and are pushing hard to add the 25-year-old to their ranks. They are keen on further bolstering their attack as they look to push for a top-four finish next season. While they do have James Maddison in their team for the number ten role, they are looking to add more competition by signing Szymanski.

His arrival will add more firepower to their attack and his ability to feature on the right flank as well as a central midfielder will give Ange Postecoglou more options to work with. The North London club are expected to hold a meeting with the Turkish club in the coming days where they will submit the offer.

It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can secure an agreement soon.
