Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bolster their squad significantly over the summer transfer window as they continue to struggle with injury setbacks.

Despite their latest win over Manchester United, Spurs remain outside the Premier League top ten. With 30 points on the board, they are currently 14 outside the top four, which looks set to be a close contest up to the end of the season.

Tottenham didn’t hesitate to get some significant deals over the line during the winter window. Ange Postecoglou saw the likes of Antonin Kinsky, Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel join the ranks for the second half of the season.

While some key players have returned from injury, including Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison, others remain out of action for both short and long-term spells.

Tottenham have been linked with some exciting transfer targets ahead of the summer window. We’ve taken a look at how next season’s starting XI could shape up based on some of the latest transfer rumours.

Tottenham continue interest in Marc Guehi

Goalkeeper: Guglielmo Vicario

Defenders: Pedro Porro, Marc Guehi, Cristian Romero, Djed Spence

Vicario returned to action against Man United and kept a clean sheet to mark his long-awaited comeback. Spurs are looking to keep influential players like Pedro Porro on the books, while other defenders are being outsourced.

Marc Guehi continues to attract attention from around the world and Spurs are one of those keen on signing him. They saw a £70 million bid rejected by Crystal Palace during the January transfer window and according to Fabrizio Romano, he remains on the radar of Postecoglou’s side ahead of the last 12 months of his contract.

Midfielders: Lucas Bergvall, Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison

Maddison marked his return with an important goal against United at the weekend. His early strike marked the only goal of the evening, and a big three points for his side.

Lucas Bergvall has become a regular starter for Spurs and will be eager to fight for his position in midfield. Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski has been alternating between starting in midfield and at right-wing, so he can continue his influence in attack.

Spurs revisit Jack Grealish interest

Attackers: Dejan Kulusevski, Heung-min Son, Jack Grealish

The versatile Heung-min Son can shift into the centre-forward role to make space for any potential new signings out side. Jack Grealish continues to be linked to Tottenham following months of initial interest. However, Spurs have faced some roadblocks along the way already.

Back in November, GiveMeSport reported that Grealish’s high wages were proving to be an issue for Postecoglou’s side. The England international was also ‘not interested’ in leaving Manchester City at the time of the report.

However, having fallen out of favour under Pep Guardiola recently, reports continue to swirl around Grealish’s future. The winger is a long-standing Spurs target, having reportedly been close to signing for the capital side way back in 2018. Recent reports have re-linked Tottenham with interest in Grealish, as rumours of a potential January swoop did the rounds.

The winger is under contract until 2027 with City but with just six Premier League starts so far this season, the champions could opt to cash in before his market value drops.
